James A Raymond, age 80 of Canal Fulton, passed away suddenly Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at his home Born December 5, 1942 in Akron, OH to the late James F and Carolyn Ruth (Rodgers) Raymond Jim was a 1960 graduate of Garfield High School and after many years of night school while working two jobs, a 1971 graduate of the University of Akron, with a degree in Accounting He started his career at the age of nineteen on the shop floors of BFGoodrich building tires, surviving layoffs, buyouts and takeovers; he worked his way up through all iterations of the company for the next 51 years; ending his career managing logistics and international shipping for Lubrizol Jim was proudly a Summit County Special Deputy Sheriff for over 45 years, finally handing in his badge after the age 70 He could be found on Portage Lakes every weekend along with his partners patrolling in the Sheriff's boat He apologizes for ever having confiscated your alcohol but remember, he could have cited you instead He enjoyed many things in this life but mostly motorcycle rides and traveling to Vegas with his loving wife of 32 years, Carol M Raymond who preceded him in death just this year Jim leaves behind sons, James R Raymond, Timothy (Tracy) Raymond and Matthew (Stherrim) Raymond Step children, Shelley (Bowman) Earnsberger; Daniel (Nicole) Bowman and Jeffrey Bowman (Michelle Moore) Grandchildren Jamie (Raymond) Babbo, Atticus and Finbar Raymond, Nicholas and Andrew Raymond Alex (Megan) Earnsberger, Zachary Earnsberger, Jordan Bowman (Ryan Fuller), Marisa and Carina Bowman Great-grandchildren Joscalynn, Ali and Henry And lastly, Autumn his faithful companion, who even in death refused to leave his side Per his wishes cremation has taken place and private services were held for the family In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Stark County Humane Society, PO Box 7077, Canton, OH 44705 To to the family or in memory of James Anthony Raymond, please

Barbara Gregis

Barbara JoAnn (Crouse) Gregis, age 83 of Canal Fulton, died Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Barbara was born on March 28, 1940 in Bridgeport, WV to Ray & Nellie (Ross) Crouse. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1959, and married John Leroy Gregis on July 1, 1960 in Winchester, VA. She moved to Ohio with her husband and very young children, first living briefly in Akron, and then as a resident of Canal Fulton since 1967. The last 3 years of her life were spent at Danbury Senior Living in Massillon. While her children were young, Barbara was a devoted homemaker. Later, she joined her husband as owners of Superior Auto Service in Akron, OH. Barbara handled the office & administrative duties, while Leroy ran the auto collision repair shop, parts & supplies ordering, and employee training. Both of their children worked at the family business during summers off from high school & college, with Duane joining his parents full time after his high school graduation. Together, the three of them proudly grew the business and served numerous customers for almost 25 years. Barbara enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, floral arrangement & wreath making, and decorating her home. During younger years, she was very active in the Hill & Hollow Garden Club and Canal Fulton United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray & Nellie (Ross) Crouse; husband, J. Leroy Gregis (March 15, 2003); son, Duane L. Gregis (October 4, 2023); brothers, Leonard Crouse & Ronald Crouse; infant sister, Brenda Crouse; brothers-in-law, William Bee, Junior Gregis, & Larry Gregis; sister-in-law, Delores Barker. He was born August 30, 1984 in Barberton, and was a life resident of Canal Fulton, graduating from Northwest High School Class of '04. Shaun has worked the past 14 years for Avalon Transportation. He enjoyed fishing, playing disc golf, woodworking, playing with LEGOS and most importantly spending time with his wife and kids. Mary Ann Webb, 85 of Canal Fulton, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born April 1, 1938 in Bellaire, OH. Mary Ann was an exceptional nurse for 54 years. Her natural gift was always helping others, which was exemplified through mentoring and being preceptor to many nurses, sharing the wisdom and experience that she gained over the years. Mary Ann was a mother to three children. One daughter and two sons. She was their nurse, counselor, teacher, babysitter, friend, critic and confidant. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Bertha Lengyel; and sister Dolores. Jimmie B. Hubbard, 85, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023. Born October 5, 1938 in Sandgap, Kentucky to the late William and Maggie Hubbard, Jimmie served in the US Air Force and retired from the Ford Motor Company after many years of service. He loved stringed instruments especially the fiddle and guitar. Jimmie enjoyed tinkering with all kinds of motors, fishing and whittling wood. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leonard R. Corazzi, 93, passed peacefully at the Community Hospice Truman House with his wife, daughter and son-in-law by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara; daughter, Lori Murphy (Tim); son, Dave Corazzi (Mari); son, Lynn Corazzi (Tina); daughter, Dana Annis (Cliff); 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Leonard was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania and was a resident of Canal Fulton after having lived in Belpre, Ohio for 50 years. He was a member of SS Philip and James parish. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. He was a humble man but was proud to have served his country and often wore a veteran's cap when he was out and about. When strangers would stop and thank him for his service, he would say, "It was a privilege to have served". Thomas R. Norris, 82, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023. Born March 14, 1941 in Wheelersburg, OH to the late Arthur and Myrtle (McCann) Norris, he was a 1960 graduate of Northwest High School. Tom was a dedicated Christian and loved watching sports, especially the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. Even though Tom never had any children of his own, he loved kids and they loved him. Shirley A. Fites, 87 of Canal Fulton, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 2, 2023. Born February 6, 1936 to the late Peter and Anna (Neidert) Schilling, she was a New Franklin/Canal Fulton resident most of her life. Shirley's life was deeply rooted in her faith and loved to serve the Lord. She was a member of Grace Bible Church where she was very active in women's ministry, being a youth leader and was a member of the choir. Shirley enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, and writing cards of encouragement for personal and community members. She volunteered with the Clinton Applefest, Operation Christmas Child and many other community and church organizations. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Fites; brothers, Peter, Richard, Kenneth and John Schilling.
