"James Miller, 81, of Texarkana, AR passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 in Texarkana, TX. He was born August 6, 1942 in Ashdown, AR to the late Dan and Ollie (Martin) Miller. Mr. Miller was a proud United States Navy veteran. He is preceded in death by his wife, Karen Sue Miller and one daughter, Pamela Starks. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Richard Turner of Ashdown, stepdaughter, Susan Lewis and husband, Vernon of Texarkana, AR, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a special friend, Sue Taaffe. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 10:00 at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown with Bro. Jim Cross officiating. "

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pola O’Fallon, who left us on November 25, 2023, at the age of 66. Pola was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and doting great-grandmother. She passed away surrounded by her family and loved ones after a valiant battle with cancer. Pola's life began on February 27, 1957, in Texarkana, Arkansas where she grew up and developed into the remarkable woman we all knew and loved. She moved to Pine Bluff at the age of 13 and graduated from Watson Chapel High School. She worked at the Pine Bluff Police Department in Internal Affairs, then later transferred to her job as City Inspector, from which she retired to become a full-time homemaker. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many and left an indelible mark on all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved the Lord and was a member of River Road Baptist Church in Redfield, AR and enjoyed spending time with her church family and friends. She also loved camping and fishing, and enjoyed crocheting, often making caps and blankets for children and the elderly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Setell Stewart; her brothers, John and Buddy Clark; and step-sister, Helen Frase. Pola shared 48 beautiful years of marriage with her loving husband, Jimmy O’Fallon, with whom she built a life filled with love, happiness, and countless cherished memories. Their bond was a shining example of enduring love and unwavering commitment. Pola was a devoted mother to her children, Jay (Jennifer) O’Fallon of Pine Bluff, AR, Kelly (Kevin) Richardson of Conway, AR, and Shelly (Jason) Anzaldua of Redfield, AR. Her love, care, and wisdom shaped the lives of her children, and her legacy lives on through them. As a grandmother, Pola was a source of unconditional love and unwavering support to her grandchildren, Autumn (Seth) Burdine, Austin (Katlyn) O’Fallon, John (Makayla) Armstrong, Katie Armstrong, Bailey Jones, Colin Garcia, Andrew Schiesser, Kory Richardson, and Ella Anzaldua. Her presence in their lives brought immeasurable joy, and her memory will forever be a guiding light for each of them. Pola was also blessed to have been a great-grandmother to Laelah Burdine, Ty Nelson Burdine and Fallon Ellaine Burdine, who brought her endless happiness and were the apple of her eye. Pola is survived by her sister, Patricia (Larry) Paris; brother, Danny Clark; sister-in-law, Shirley Clark; brother-in-law, Charles (Linda) O’Fallon; sisters-in-law, Betty Jean (Jr. ) Thompson, Katherine (Raymond) Baldwin, Richie Huber; step-brother, David Stewart; and many nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved dearly. Pola will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared with everyone around her. Her loss leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched. The memory of Pola O’Fallon will forever remain in our hearts, and her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us all. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P. M. Mr. Tommy Turley, age 73, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Mr. Turley was born October 14, 1950, in Texarkana, Arkansas and had been a lifetime resident. He was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, a Shriner, and retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company after 44 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mattie Turley. His greatest joy was watching and traveling to see his grandkids play sports. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Cindy Smith Turley of Texarkana, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendi and Kevin Knotts of Texarkana, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, TJ and Amanda Turley of Texarkana, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jacob Knotts (Kailey), Savannah Langford (Kamron), Dylan Turley, Olivia Turley, and Claire Turley, one sister, Debra Dyer of Texarkana, Arkansas, his step-mother, Carol Turley, and a huge number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and special friends. Willella Joyce Falls, age 88, of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023. She was born on August 28, 1935, in Tuttle, Oklahoma, to Mace and Ozella Brown. Mrs. Falls spent years as a radio announcer under the radio personality name Willella Brown with KENA in Mena, Arkansas, and KOSY in Texarkana. The accomplishment she was most proud of was obtaining her Real-Estate Brokers License. She truly enjoyed helping home buyers find their perfect home. In her free time, she enjoyed family time, resting and cooking. Her favorite meal was pinto beans, fried potatoes and cornbread. She was an active member of Beech Street Baptist church for forty-eight years, where she was a Sunday school outreach leader. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and realtor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mace Brown, Ozella Willmon Brown, and her sisters, Pauline Stewart, Geraldine Trammel, Juanita Hill, Barbara Dodd, and Joanne Brown. Jerry Lynn Townsend, age 73, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Townsend was born December 5, 1949 in Texarkana. He was retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company as a tire builder after thirty-one years of service. He was also a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam war and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and being a coach. He loved to coach his girls in softball. He also loved the game of basketball. He was a loyal, caring, and selfless man. He always went the extra mile to make sure his girls had every opportunity in life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Marzelle Townsend; his grandparents, Woodrow and Aurilla Sams; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Larry and Sue Townsend, Terry Townsend; and one nephew, Justin Townsend. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Jeff Jewell, Melissa and Wes Pounds, all of Texarkana, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Dellamae Townsend of Genoa, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Noah Jewell, Zach Harris, Davis Pounds, Lexie Pounds and a host of friends and other relatives.
