James Mcmahon Obituary

James (Dave) McMahon passed away May 4, 2023, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where he had been a resident. He was 76 years old. Born in Jackson, Mississippi on January 24, 1947, he was the son of Sue Willoughby and Robert McMahon. Dave graduated from Lowell High School in 1965. Dave joined the Navy after high school and was a radio operator. After the Navy, he worked as a salesman for various companies. He was a longtime member of the Milford Fire Department in New Hampshire, also a Rotary Member, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watertown, where he served as a Board of Trustees President for several years. His favorite past times were doing woodworking, fishing, spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox's and the New England Patriots and enjoyed being with his wonderful dog, AVA. Dave is survived by his wife, Sharon of almost 21 years, 3 daughters, Amy Holland of Milford, New Hampshire; Rebecca (Gabe Tobbe) McMahon of Greenfield, New Hampshire; Michele Smithers of Watertown, New York; a son, James David McMahon, Jr. of Milford, New Hampshire; 3 sisters, Barri (Tony) Caruso, of Georgia; Kathy (Dale) Jackson of Colorado and Josephine McMahon of New Hampshire; one brother, Robert (Anne) McMahon of New Hampshire. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Bayley Madden, Aidan King, Nolan, Tristan, Maddox and Sofia Smithers, Abigail and William Tobbe, Devin and Kip Holland and Kayann, Mileigh and Christian Gunn. Dave was predeceased by his parents as well as his beloved boxer, AVA. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 236 Mullin St. , Watertown on a date and time to be announced.
