Obituary Mr. James "Jimmy" Richard McCullough age 75 of Menlo, GA passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at his residence. Mr. McCullough was born August 30, 1948 in Summerville, GA to the late Doyle and Lorene Watson McCullough. He was retired from Heil Industries. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam, and he was a retired Chief of the Rinehart Fire Department. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by siblings, Nelly Jones, Patsy Graves, and Johnny McCullough. Survivors include his long time companion, Karen Howard; children, Casandra (Jerry) Cole, Christy (Zac) Valentine, Amelia (Shannon) Chesser, and Scott (Angie) Howard; sister, June Ferry; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. McCullough will be at 2:00 PM EST Monday, September 11 at the chapel of Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Koonce and Rev. Wayne Killian officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Bowling, Lucas Cole, Jonathon Ray, Jackie Mobbs, Les McCullough, and Chuck Powell. Obituary Mr. Henry Lee Covington, age 77, of Menlo, GA, died Monday, June 12, 2023, at U. A. B. Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Mr. Covington was born January 25, 1946, in Menlo, GA, son of the late Will Henry and Delia Hudgins Covington. He was employed with Menlo School for 37 years where he currently served as the head custodian. He was the smiling face that greeted each and every child that came through the doors at Menlo. In addition to his parents, Mr. Covington was preceded in death by his brothers, Will Covington, Jr. , Lee Mosteller, John Calvin Hudgins, Jeff Franklin Covington; sisters, Annie B. Coleman, Pauleen Evans, and Mary Perry; and special family members, Neil Bowman, Sr. and Alice Bowman. Survivors include his brother, George W. Covington; special family members, Shanne (Yogi) Hegwood, Donna (Greg) Koonce; grandchildren, Nicole (Dustin) Rosser, Corey Dyer, Gabby Dyer, Nathan (Halle) Hegwood, Natalie (David) Fletcher, Billy (Grace) Hegwood, Matthew (Selena) Martin, Tripp Marks, and Tori Wyatt; special great-grandchildren, Lily Grace Green, Jeremiah Dyer, Zion Morrison, Jordan Morrison, Freya Rosser, Isaiah Dyer, Callie Fletcher, Evan Fletcher, Scarlette Hegwood, Charlie Hegwood, Tripp Parra; as well as all of the special kids that ever attended or currently attend Menlo School and all of the Menlo School employees. Obituary Mrs. Lola Ellen Clark Pickle, age 95, of Menlo, GA, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at her residence with her family by her side. Mrs. Pickle was born March 21, 1928, in Milan, GA, daughter of the late Charlie Banks Clark and Mary Ellen Lloyd Clark. She was homemaker and a member of Menlo First Baptist Church. Mrs. Pickle had been employed as a substitute teacher. She was also a member of the Chattooga Republican Party. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Hollis Pickle; and a daughter, Charla Pickle. Survivors include sons, Gerald Pickle, Mark Pickle; daughter, Barbara (Greg) McCollum; grandchildren, Amelia (Richard) Davis, Adrian Westendorff-Pickle, Emma Pickle, Clark McCollum, and Alex Pickle; great-grandchildren, Sam Crytzer, and Charlotte Davis. Funeral services for Mrs. Pickle will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, May 19, 2023, at Menlo First Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Willingham officiating. Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery. Obituary Mr. Jerry Richard "Rick" Green, age 62, of Menlo, GA, died Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital. Mr. Green was born January 12, 1960, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Jerry Wayne Green and Juanita Lemuel Barksdale Green Farmer. He was Baptist by faith, and prior to his retirement, owned and operated Green's Construction. He had also served as a firefighter with Menlo Fire Department. In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was preceded in death by a brother, DeWayne Green; step-father, Pete Farmer; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Lois Green; and maternal grandparents, Lemuel and Francis Barksdale. Survivors include his children, Kasey Wilson, Ethan Hutchins, and Brody Lathem; brothers, Chad Green, Pete Farmer, and Randy Green; a sister, Pennie Elkins; grandsons, Seth Wilson, Blayne Wilson, and Price Wilson; aunts, Sadie Croy and Charlotte Woody; special friend, Jane Canada; and son-in-law, Tyler Wilson. Obituary Mr. Fred Bennie White, age 79, of Menlo, GA, died Monday, August 29, 2022, at his residence. Mr. White was born August 3, 1943, in Summerville, GA, son of the late James and Lottie McNeese White. Mr. White enjoyed watching his Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs. He also loved riding around on any back road he could find. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Mohawk as a Crew Leader. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Henry White, Johnny Lee White, Bobby James White, and Billy White. Survivors include his son, Kevin (Tammy) White; a daughter, Keitha Vaughan; sisters, Betty Jo (Phil) Rogers, Shirley Culberson, and Gail Anderson; grandchildren, Jessica (John) Ware, Maci Tucker, Alex Tucker, and Jacob Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Annslee Tucker and Addie Mae Ware.
