After a valiant battle against an aggressive form of cancer, James Stewart Massaro (Jimmy) passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved wife Belinda and loved ones on 6 May 2023 at the age of 61. Jimmy was a resident of Linden, NJ for over 30 years and was born and raised in Roselle, NJ where he graduated from Abraham Clark High School in 1979. He was the original 'Mazz' and was affectionately known to friends and family as 'Jimmy Mazz. ' Jimmy was an accomplished, 3 sport-athlete lettering in basketball, soccer, and baseball. He married his high school sweetheart, Belinda, to whom he was married to for over 40 years. Early in his career, Jimmy spent over 20 years at Twin County Grocers, before venturing on his own as an entrepreneur, where he successfully started and ran JM Kutz, Inc. Jimmy had a larger-than-life personality. He never met a stranger, he was always quick with a joke, and had a smile that could brighten any room. Jimmy was selfless and provided countless hours of support and guidance to those in need. He had a passion for sports and the Jersey shore where he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He loved basketball and was known for hitting the deep 3 from the corner. Jimmy was a beloved husband, son, brother, father, father-in-law, uncle, grandfather, friend, mentor, and coach. He was one of kind, God made Jimmy and broke the mold. Jimmy touched many lives and leaves a strong, prideful legacy. Jimmy will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife Belinda (Schriek) Massaro and 2 sons, James Stewart Massaro, Jr. and his wife Caitlin Finnerty Massaro and Nicholas Massaro and his longtime companion Nikole Granberg; his grandchildren, Savannah, Aubrey, James III and Thomas; his mother Christine Massaro of Toms River; his brothers Anthony Massaro, Raymond Massaro and Michael Massaro; his nephew Richard Schriek, Jr. and his niece Danielle Bubet. Jimmy was pre-deceased by his father Raymond Anthony Massaro. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation at the Walter Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11 from 4 - 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
