Hung Do

Oct 18, 1951 - Feb 29, 2024

location-icon

Philadelphia, PA

In the words of Albert Schweitzer, "The only escape from the miseries of life are music and cats." For Hung Do, these elements were the rhythm and melody to his life's symphony. Born on October 18, 1951, in H?i Phong, H?i H?u District, Nam Dinh, Vietnam, Hung's journey took him from the shores of Vietnam to the cityscape of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he lived for 42 years. On February 29, 2024, the world lost a passionate carpenter, a devoted husband, father, and a man with an unwavering love for music and cats.Hung was a man of many talents, but his gift as a carpenter was the one that shone the brightest. His hands, toughened and seasoned by years of meticulous work, crafted more than just furniture; they shaped stories and left imprints of love and dedication. Hung's creations were not just pieces of wood joined together but symbolized his commitment to creating beauty from the simplest of things. Each piece was a testament to his creativity, a melody in wood, echoing a harmony that resonated with all those lucky enough to possess one of his pieces.Hung shared his life's journey with his beloved wife Tammy, whom he married on October 8, 1974. Their love story was one of respect, mutual admiration, and an unbreakable bond of trust. Together, they raised four beautiful daughters – Tu, Daisy, Trang, and Ngoc – who were the light of Hung's life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience for his daughters. Hung was preceded in death by his father, Van Do, and mother, Xuyên Ph?m.As we mourn the loss of Hung, we also celebrate the life of a man who was a beacon of love, creativity, and tenacity. He enriched the lives of those around him with his wisdom, his humor, and his unique view of the world. His legacy will live on, not only through his daughters but also through every piece of furniture he crafted, every song he played, and every life he touched.Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family Thursday, March 7, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Lambie Funeral Home 8000 Rowland Avenue (At Rhawn Street).  Hung's service will follow 11:00 am at the funeral home.We encourage all who knew and loved Hung to share their memories and upload photos of him on his memorial page. Your stories and pictures will help keep his spirit alive and serve as a reminder of the incredible man he was.
