Chuck passed away peacefully under the care of his family and Evergreen Hospice at his home, Spiritwood Assisted Living Facility in Issaquah, Washington on Friday, October 20, 2023. He had been battling brain cancer since February, he had 81 wonderful years. Chuck was born to Isaac and Doris Rugtvedt on June 8, 1942 in Havre, Montana. He graduated from Rudyard High School in 1960 and shortly thereafter joined the US Navy. He enjoyed his time traveling with his shipmates to various places at home and overseas during his time in the Navy until honorably discharged in 1964 and settling into Everett, WA. He met and married Linda Seeber in 1964 having a son, Kevin in September of 1965. Two years later his daughter Jeri was born in April 1967. He met and married Rose Mortenson in 1974 having a son, Arthur in June of 1976 after relocating to Idaho Falls, Idaho. In 1987 Chuck moved back to the Seattle area where he met the love of his life, Darlene Flowers marrying in August of 1990. They had 30 wonderful years together when Darlene passed in November of 2020. Chuck enjoyed being a software engineer since the early days of the computer on up to retirement in 2012. After retirement he took a job driving a bus for the seniors at Spiritwood, where he would ultimately be a resident himself. During his leisure time he enjoyed traveling with and watching his wife Darlene sing, nights out at Seattle Symphony, golf and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife Darlene; son Kevin; parents Isaac and Doris; brother David; step-son Mike Lindsey (Kari) and various other family and friends. He leaves behind his daughter Jeri (Dennis); son Arthur; step-son Rick Lindsey (Cindy); step-son Gary Lindsey (Erika); sister Iris Buck; nephews, nieces, cousins; grandchildren and great-grandchildren of whom he absolutely adored and loved so much. Also included are many loving extended family members including those from Norway and lifelong friends Ed & Janice Hahn.Show more

Rodney R BoyerJuly 4, 1939 - November 16, 2023Rodney Boyer, beloved (84) passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023. He was a cherished husband, father, mentor, and friend, whose presence touched the lives of many. Born on July 4, 1939, Rodney lived the true American dream. Inspired by aerospace and his dislike for manual labor in the Aberdeen pulp mills, Rodney pursued a career in engineering. After graduating from the University of Washington Rodney became a metallurgical engineer working for Boeing and later consulting for NASA, Lockheed Martin, and TIMET. Rodney was affectionately known as the "The Ti Guy" due to his tremendous impact in titanium research which can be found in his 7+ co-edited books, the most notable being the Titanium Alloys Metals Properties Handbook published by ASM, and 300 technical presentations and publications delivered around the world. Rodney will be remembered for his dry humor, his deep commitment to his family and friends, and his passion for adventure and travel. Rodney is survived by his wife Janice, his children Bret and Tawni, his three granddaughters Britney, Destiny, and Anessa, and many close friends and colleagues who will continue to carry his memory forward with love and admiration. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Museum of Flight to inspire the next generation of aerospace engineers. Rodney's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Alberto Gonzalez Jr. was born in Mexico City, Mexico on Dec 1997, son of Alberto and Ruth Gonzalez. He passed away on November 17, 2023 in Redmond, WA. He lived 1 1/2 years in Mexico before moving to the state of Washington with his parents. He was raised in Redmond and he lived most of his life there, he graduated from Redmond HS. He studied at Bellevue College and graduated from UW Foster School of Business. He had multiple internships before joining SV Bank as a financial analyst and participated on multiple seminars in NYC, California and Nashville. Alberto was a very active person growing up, he played soccer but particularly liked basketball which he practiced all his life in clubs and in the gyms. He loved the Sounders and as a season ticket holder he was always looking for family and friends to go with him to the stadium to watch the games, and was there in the parade in Seattle when they won their first MLS title, he also liked the Premier and the Mexican football leagues. Alberto loved hikes and riding his bicycle. He liked to play guitar and watch movies, his favorite places were Orcas Island and Mexico its food and its traditions. Alberto had a wonderful childhood and teenager years in company of his family and friends, going camping, to Disneyland, many camps and activities, as well as visiting many beautiful places around the Puget Sound area. As a young adult he was a hard worker, he enjoyed working and achieved many successes. Alberto was always the best of us. We were fortunate enough to spend 25+ wonderful years with him, he was an amazing and noble son and brother, his kind soul and untainted heart touched those around him; Alberto Jr. will be deeply missed by his parents Alberto and Ruth, brothers Alejandro and Oscar, as well as his grandma Rosario and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Alberto was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder 2. All that time, our loving "Berdo" fought bravely against this dreadful disease, trying everything possible to improve and take back control of his life. He battled more nobly than anyone could. His heart, will forever remain untouched and he will live on in loving memory as the gift to our lives and bright light he was, one which life dimmed far too soon. Rizzs, a beloved resident of Issaquah, Washington, dimmed on November 18, 2023, as he peacefully departed this world at his home in Issaquah. Born on February 12, 1980, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Rick and Kira Rizzs, Nick's journey through life was a testament to passion, love, and the joy of living. Nick's roots were firmly planted in Issaquah, where he was raised and educated. A proud graduate of Issaquah High School, he furthered his knowledge and skills at Bellevue College, setting the stage for a career that would reflect his diverse interests. Throughout his professional journey, Nick explored various avenues, but it was in the realm of plumbing that he discovered his true calling after spending years working construction. For the last eight years, he dedicated himself to the craft as a plumber, loving the projects he undertook and the people he worked with. In his leisure moments, Nick found solace and joy in the great outdoors. Whether it was the thrill of riding dirt bikes, the rush of snowmobiling, or the freedom of Jet Skiing, he reveled in the exhilaration of adventure. The mountains and the waters of Lake Sammamish were his canvas, where he painted memories that will endure in the hearts of those who shared these moments with him. Nick's love for life radiated in every facet of his being. His infectious laughter, his zest for fun, and his boundless energy were a source of inspiration to those around him. Nick is remembered by his father as being the most loving son a father could ask possibly have, always concluding his interactions with a heartfelt, "I love you, Dad!"Nick's warm smile was contagious, and his generous heart embraced everyone he encountered, transforming acquaintances into cherished friends. While firmly grounded, Nick devoted his heart to Jesus, openly expressing the wellspring of his strength through numerous texts and passages from the Bible that he generously shared with others. He is survived by his dad, Rick Rizzs and his legacy continues through his three children, Jaxon, Braedon, and Ryan, born of his love with his longtime partner, Brooke Higgins. In addition, Nick is remembered by his former wife, Melissa Rizzs, and a host of extended family members and friends who were touched by his warmth and spirit. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Kira, in 2018. A celebration of Nick's vibrant life will take place at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Eastridge Church in Issaquah. Erin FinneganMar 19, 1962 - Nov. 8, 2023Too soon our sweet gentle Erin passed away after a short illness. The first child of Bill and Rosaleen Finnegan, Erin grew up in Bellevue graduating Sammamish High and then the University of Washington. In college she started running for fun and after that for fund-raising, benefiting countless local charities. Marathons were routine for her but in the last decade, she took on the challenging Spartan Obstacle races nationally and internationally. The marvel of this disciplined work ethic was Erin's consistent graciousness and generosity towards others. The building of her beautiful home on Pine Lake was an expression of her artistic aesthetic and appreciation for local northwest craftsman. Family and friends spent many happy times there with Erin. Her entire professional career was spent at Microsoft and since retiring she gave her all to volunteering for multiple organizations. Special to her were Girls on the Run and The Bellevue Botanical Garden. Erin was predeceased by her parents and survived by her grieving siblings Brian, Tom, Colleen, nieces, nephew, aunts, uncle, cousins, and many friends. Donna May Phillips entered fully in the presence of the Lord on November 19, 2023. Her final days were spent with family and friends she loved very much. Donna was born in Seattle, WA to parents, Robert and Florence Phelan. Her father was a gas station owner and her mother a stay-at-home mom. The second child of four, she grew up in the idyllic neighborhood of North City and graduated from Bishop Blanchet. Donna loved to have fun and would often head north of the border with friends to Vancouver BC, Canada where she met her soon to be husband, Andrija Vetma. Though their marriage wouldn't last forever, they had two beloved daughters, Marcella Katherine, and Alissa Maria. By the late 1970's, Donna was well into working a rewarding career at Boeing when she would meet her second husband, Paul Phillips at the Casino tavern in Everett, WA. Paul had three precious children from a previous marriage, Kimberly, Paul, and Nolan and she relished being a mom to such a large brood. Though it wasn't always easy, Donna was proud of her blended family and treasured going camping, taking road trips, and playing slots at the casino. She was a die-hard Seahawks fan and loved wearing blue and green and attending games as a partial season ticket holder during the Matt Hasselbeck years. Additionally, spending time and making memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her immense joy. Her Catholic upbringing and belief in God as well as a keen sense of humor, courage and wit helped her endure and deal with many health issues she faced throughout her life. Donna is survived by her daughters, Marcy (Brian), and Alissa (Wilson), stepdaughter Kim (Joe), stepsons, Paul (Monica) and Nolan (Alita). Siblings Robert (Joylyn), Stephen (Julie), and Pamela (Dave). And numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Phillips and parents, Robert and Florence Phelan and her bestie Cherie Rezo. She and Paul are together again and most likely on some sort of adventure. They are both loved and missed.Show more
