James Hall Obituary

James Henry Hall March 14, 1927 - May 8, 2023 James Hall passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the age of 96. After several months of declining health, Jim died peacefully with his beloved grandchildren, Jill & Matt, by his side. Jim was born March 14, 1927 in Buffalo, NY. He graduated from Fosdick-Masten Park High School (now City Honors) with a music diploma. Music was always part of his life and Jim spent many years playing with local and traveling bands (Fosdick-Masten Band, Counts of Rhythm and The Grandfathers, to name a few). His career spanned over 40 years, with 24 years spent at General Electric and then another 17 at General Motors Security. In years-past, Jim spent many hours walking at Delaware Park, earning him the moniker of "The Mayor of Delaware Park". As he got older, his walks were mainly focused on his daily visits to his many friends at Amherst St. Wegmans and Dash's. Those who knew "Grampa Jim" know that his dogs were his "babies" and he never went anywhere without them. He always said, "my dogs keep me going" and was eager to greet any dog he met during his travels. A memorial service for Jim is planned for Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 2PM to 4PM at Lombardo Funeral Home, 102 Linwood Ave, Buffalo, NY. All who loved him are invited to attend.
