Funeral services for James Walter Hall, 95, of Williston. SC will be held at three o'clock p. m. , Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Williston with the Reverend Jimmy Hanf officiating; burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery with Military and Masonic Rites Accorded. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Mr. Walter passed away at home on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Born in Williston, SC, he was a son of the late James Lester "Happy" Hall and Maude Ella Hair Hall. In his early career, he worked at the Chevrolet dealership in Williston and later retired as the Maintenance Manager at Harvey Hubbell in Aiken, SC after working many years. He was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Williston where he went on several mission trips with Jimmy Hanf and other members of the Williston First Baptist Church. He was instrumental in helping to build ramps with other church members for people in need. Mr. Walter was a member of the Hope Lodge # 126 for 69 years and was the oldest living Past Master in the Fifth Masonic District. He was a member of the Omar Shrine Temple, the Woodman of the World, the American Legion, and was a member of the Williston Fire Department for 35 years. Mr. Walter served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was assigned to Occupational Forces while stationed in Japan. Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Eva Mae Summers Hall; a brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Betty Hall of Aiken; special extended family Roy (Angie) Kennedy and their children Kohl and Kyndal; two nephews, Marion (Jane) Gray and Barry (Sandra) Keel and a number of great nieces and nephews who he dearly loved.
