James "Bobby" Greeson, age 68, of Dahlonega, passed away on October 5th, 2023, peacefully surrounded by his family. Bobby loved playing golf, scratch off lottery tickets, cars, and blues music. He was the greatest husband and father and was a Hero to his children. Bobby was loved by all. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Bill Greeson and Dolly Dimple Greeson. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Greeson; sister, Donna (Collin) McDonough of Clarkesville; brother, Ricky (Sandra) Greeson of Jefferson; sons, Robert (Amber) Greeson of Baytown, TX, Tony Joe Greeson of Jasper, Andy Greeson of Silsbee, TX. Derek Greeson of Dahlonega; daughter, Becki (Dusty) Swan of Pace, FL; grandsons, Tyler (Jenna) Greeson of Beaumont, TX, Alex (Caitlynn) Rogers of Dahlgren, VA, Mason Greeson of Silsbee, TX; granddaughters, Katy (Dakota) Chatalian of Village Mill, TX, Nathalee Greeson of Dahlonega, Reagan Donaldson of Murphy, NC; 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Patsy (Randy) Kimbral, Peggy Elmore of Bethlehem; brother-in-law, Buddy (Cindy) Elmore of Auburn, GA; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 8th, 2023, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Hewitt officiating. The interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 7th, from the hours of 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM, and again on Sunday, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Charlie was a skilled heavy equipment operator who dedicated his life to his craft. Music was a constant companion for Charlie, who had a deep love for playing the guitar and immersing himself in the world of melodies. Mr. Thurmond "Joe" Ray Powers, age 77, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023. He was born to the late Walter and Laura Powers on August 29, 1946, in Cleveland, Georgia. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Blairsville, Georgia. Joe had a love for NASCAR racing. His favorite all-time driver was Bill Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Bertha Jean Powers; children Elaine Day and Bobby Dixon; siblings Marion Powers, Aron Powers, Junior Powers, Mose Powers, Dillard (Linda) Powers, Myrtice Palmer, Martha (Junior) Gooch, Melvin (Margie) Powers Ruby Burgus, Lois (Hoyt) Gearin, Sadie (Herbert) Cox, and an infant baby girl. Survivors include his children, Sidney Michael (Lori) Dixon of Cumming, Jerry K. Mr. Waldo Carvin Lunsford, age 95, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023. He was born in Suches, Georgia, on October 8, 1928, to the late Cicero Lunsford and the late Lula Jane Abercrombie Lunsford. Mr. Lunsford was a man of strong faith, following the Baptist tradition, and found great joy in the beauty of God's outdoors. Waldo lived a full life surrounded by his love for family and nature. He cherished moments spent hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories in the great outdoors. His passion extended to gardening, canning, and tending to his yard, where he found solace and fulfillment. He is survived by his children, Jerry (Penny) Lunsford and Janet Robinson; grandchildren Lyndsey (Clint) Freeland, Laura Lunsford, and Josh (Ashley) Robinson; and great-grandchildren, Jack, Rhett, and Evy Freeland. Mr. Lunsford is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean Stringer Lunsford, and son-in-law, Larry Robinson. He was the last surviving member of his seven siblings. In accordance with Mr. Lunsford's wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of Waldo's life will take place in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 13, 2023. The Reverend Stephen Gerrells will officiate the service, and inurnment will follow at Dahlonega Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday from 11:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Evelyn B. King, 81, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 following a period of declining health. Born July 14, 1942 to the late Edwin and Ganell Burt, she lived most of her life in Lumpkin County. Evelyn retired from Amicalola Propane following many years of service and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Evelyn lived life to it's fullest in her own way and her greatest joy was to make people laugh. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tommy C. King; daughters, Erica King, Leah Smith; and sister, Margaret Kennedy. Surviving are her daughter, Lynn Smith, Dawsonville; grandsons, Bobby Garrett, Eric Garrett; sister, Geneva Bearden, Dawsonville; much loved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; her special loves, Mary Anglin Richardson and Reagan Richardson who adopted her as "Grandma".
