Greenland - James H. Goodwin, Sr, 83, widower of Christine M. (Clair) Goodwin, of Greenland, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. He was born on August 16, 1938, in Portsmouth New Hampshire, to Henry and Doris (Patterson) Goodwin. Jim grew up in Portsmouth and attended Portsmouth High School. Prior to his retirement, Jim was employed as a security officer for over 40 years at The Brook in Seabrook, NH. He was an avid reader and was a regular visitor at the Greenland Library. Jim enjoyed cooking and especially baking. He also liked driving the back roads, playing Keno, and visiting his friends at the Brook. What was most important to Jim was his family. He enjoyed spending time at his brother's camp in Barrington. He loved going out to breakfast with his daughters and son. He loved to FaceTime with his grandchildren. Besides his wife, Christine, Jim was preceded in death by siblings, Janet Goodreau and Henry "Hank" Goodwin. Survivors include his children, Julie Vasseur and her husband, Edmund of Hampstead, Lisa Webster and her husband, Peter of Kittery, ME and James H. Goodwin Jr of Greenland; five grandchildren, Ehren Harvey, Jennifer Harvey, Christopher Alexander, Tiana Webster and Robert Goodwin; three great grandchildren, Harmony, Kira and Liam; siblings, David Goodwin and his wife, Ann of Dover, Shirley Belcher and her husband, Stephen of Rye, and Sandra Finney and her husband, Robert of Dover. Services: A memorial service will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 23, 2022, with at time of refreshment and fellowship to immediately follow at the J.
