Shirley Mae Hansen, age 93, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away at 12:43 a. m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at her son's home. She was born August 14, 1930, in Riverdale, Florida, the daughter of David and Molly (Lundgren) Miller. Shirley was a 1948 graduate of Thornton High School in Harvey, Illinois. She was a secretary for Area Transportation. She loved to crochet and made caps for newborn children. In her younger days she and Dexter enjoyed square dancing and made some lifelong friends. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Bolivar, Missouri. Shirley married Dexter Hansen in Orland Park, Illinois on November 8, 1986. Shirley is survived by three sons, Paul Daly of Arizona, Roger Daly of Ohio and David Daly and his wife, Odette, of South Greenfield, Missouri; one daughter, Kimberly Daly of Park Forest, Illinois; two brothers, Kenny Miller and his wife, Bonnie, of Arizona and Dennis Miller and his wife, Susie, of Glenwood, Illinois; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, David, and Molly; her husband, Dexter; one daughter, Deborah Baum; one son, Jeffery Daly; granddaughter, Brooke Daly; one sister, Donna Zeszutko and two brothers, David Miller, Jr. , and Glen Miller. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Bolivar, Missouri. Burial will be held at a later date at the Cedar Park Cemetery in Calumet Park, Illinois. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was born May 25, 1943, in Springfield, IL, to David John and Jessie Cecilia (Luster) Carroll. He was born May 25, 1943, in Springfield, IL, to David John and Jessie Cecilia (Luster) Carroll. He is a US Army veteran having served from 1961-1963, and was proud to have served in Thule, Greenland, and was aboard a ship headed towards Cuba during the missile crisis. Joe worked many years installing siding, and later created his own business "Joe Carroll Siding" and took great pride in his workmanship. He was always willing to help someone in need. Joe was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Leroy Brake and Albert Carroll; and three sisters: June Sherry, Sherly Schafer, and Lorraine Sabo. Albert Holton "Bud" Powell Jr. , aged 79 of Bolivar, MO, passed away at the Aurora Nursing Center, in Aurora, MO, on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023. Bud was born February 16th, 1944 the son of Albert Holton Powell Sr. and Betty Louise Mitchell in Nixa, MO. On July 1, 1967, he was united in marriage to Eva Ruth Myers King in Ozark, MO Bud graduated in May 1962 from Nixa High School in Nixa, MO. He joined the U. S. Air Force in May 1962 and was stationed at Beale AFB, CA during his time of service. He returned to Missouri in 1966. He enjoyed working on aircraft during his entire life. He retired from Cessna Aircraft Company in 2009 and retired from GoJet Airlines in 2019. He enjoyed tinkering around the farm after retirement. He and Ruth are members of First Baptist Church of Bolivar, MO where they were active members of their Sunday School Class. Bud is survived by his wife, Ruth. They celebrated 56 years of marriage on July 1st, 2023. Bud is survived by his sister, Juanita (Powell) Thompson of Springfield, MO; sons, David Powell Sr. and wife, Colleen of Bolivar, MO, Jonathon King and wife, Dianna of Ozark, MO, Allen King and wife, Debbie of Bruner, MO, and Clifford King and wife, Betty of Ozark, MO; grandchildren, David Powell Jr. of Norman, OK, Kimberly (Powell) Cox and husband, Samuel of Raleigh, NC, Austin Powell and wife, Mikenzi of Republic, MO, Allen King Jr and wife, Jennifer of Rogersville, MO, Alexander King of Humansville, MO, and Dylan King of Bolivar, MO; great-grandchildren, Alexis Carder, Kenneth S. "Doris Jean (Smart) Bergman was born on July 1, 1938, to Ona and Gladys (Cooper) Smart. She passed away November 9, 2023, at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri at the age of 85 years. She was saved and became a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Weaubleau, Missouri in 2000. Doris worked in the restaurant field for several years and then did a lot of babysitting. She liked to go shopping and visiting with her friends at Weaubleau Prairie Estates where she lived for several years. Her health started to deteriorate and her dementia became worse. It then became necessary for her to enter Northwood Hills Care Center in Humansville, Missouri where she resided for the last 10 years. While in the nursing home, she enjoyed playing bingo and watching Dr. Phil and all the game shows on TV. She had quite a collection of stuffed animals and jewelry she had won playing bingo. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bergman; an infant daughter, Lisa Michelle Vest; a grandson, Daryl Smith; her parents, Ona and Gladys Smart; two sisters, Bertie Butler and Violet Westerman; two brothers, Lowell Smart and Curtis Smart, who died at infancy and a half-brother, Billy Ray Smart. Doris is survived by two children, Deborah Witt and Clifford Vest; three grandchildren, Victoria Bowers, Samantha Rafferty and Deanna Hoelscher; one sister, Patsy Smith of Weaubleau; three nieces, Helen Johnstone, Betty Waggoner and Crystal Vaugh; two nephews, Mike Cox and Jimmy Smith; nine great-grandchildren, lots of cousins and other family and friends.
