James George Sr Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. James Doyle George, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Pineville, with Father Dale Mead officiating. Interment will follow in Gorum Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Mr. George, 84, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 05, 2023, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, LA. James was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Pineville. He was a plumber and pipefitter, and a member of Local Union #247. He was a U. S. Airforce Veteran serving in Korea and Japan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and planting his garden. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his son, Jesse F. George; his former wife, Carine Belgard George; his parents, James and Annie George; and two brothers, Albert George and Joseph George. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include two sons, James George, Jr. of Pineville, and Troy George, and his wife Barbara, of Pineville; two daughters, Angela George of Marksville, and Sherry Kessler of Pineville; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-six great grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 9:00 a. m. until time of departure to the church.
