April 20, 2019
Van Buren, AR
Nancy Kramer-Oakes passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Born in Muskegon,Michigan on July 6, 1947 she enjoyed a family childhood on the beaches of Lake Michigan. Upon moving to the warm South, she was educated in private schools within the Fort Smith area, graduated from St. Anne's Academy, and earned a B.A. Degree in Business. Nancy's professional skills and her unique ability to communicate easily with others, afforded her many career opportunities throughout her lifetime. From her early days as an Airline Reservationist, to retiring as a Paralegal; she cherished the many friends and coworkers who enriched her life. The natural beauty of the Ozarks and the inner beauty of the people in the Mountainburg and Winslow area, created a comfortable and stable environment in which Nancy raised and nurtured her family, in addition to those special people she considered family. She actively supported the extracurricular activities of her grandchildren...among them being a special Dragon basketball player. Nancy was the mother to many, which earned her the coveted title, "Queen Mother". With wit and humor comparable to Maxine and Erma Bombeck, she spread laughter and sarcasm to her "loyal subjects". Nancy's unwavering faith in God sustained her throughout a lifetime of challenges, and bore witness to His incredible power. As a family, Nancy, we thank you for your guidance, and may you rest peacefully with God and your heavenly family. You are missed by your husband, Milford; daughters, Jamie Kramer and companion, James Clark, of Winslow; and Tina Lott and companion, Shawn Hurtt, of Ozark; sons, Ryan Kramer and companion, Dana Gregory, of Alma; Wade and wife, Jeannie Carroll, of Kenner, LA; sisters, Mrs. Patrick (Peggy) Metzker, of Racine, WI; and Mrs Dennis (Kathy) Paskey, of Fort Smith; 3 stepsons,13 grandchildren, and countless dear friends. Nancy is now reunited with her daughter, Melanie Kramer, her brother, Tommy Neiser, and parents, Raymond and Thelma Neiser. Our sincere gratitude to members of the Mercy Hospice Team as well as the doctors of Highlands Oncology of the Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic. A Rosary and funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Ozarks Shrine, Winslow beginning at 10:00am, Thursday, May 2, 2019 followed by a reception, and subsequent 4:00 burial at Roselawn Cemetery, Fort Smith.
