A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM, Friday, February 23, 2024 at Flint First Wesleyan Church, 3825 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Chad Amoss officiating. Interment will be in Davison Cemetery. The family will welcome visitors from 4-7 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday at Flint First Wesleyan Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flint First Wesleyan Church or Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, in Glenda’s memory.Glenda was born in Flint, MI on December 11, 1935, daughter of the late Wesley and Helen (Henson) Frederick. She married Laverne McKeachie on June 20, 1981 and he preceded her in death on March 20, 2010. Glenda was talented and showed it through painting and quilting. She was musically inclined, playing the hammered dulcimer and the organ for her grandchildren. Glenda was very active with her church, imitating Christ’s love, showing it to all she met. Glenda is survived by her daughter, Marcia Howell; step-daughter, Darlene Sprader; grandchildren, Lloyd (Dana) Wright, Martin (Tori) Wright, Carey (Nick) Comstock, Logan (Michelle) Sitze, Douglas (Hazel) Lowe, Duncan Lowe, David (Tammy) Lowe; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; step-sisters, Kathleen (Garry) Alstott and Linda Murray; half-sister, Susie Merino; and many other loving family members and friends. J.C. was born in Bell City, MO on January 9, 1938, son of the late Woodrow and Lillian (Davis) Proffer. On December 29, 1956, he married Elizabeth MaryAnn Kovacs and she preceded him in death on March 21, 2002. J.C. found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature, whether it was the thrill of the hunt, particularly for moose and deer, or the peaceful moments spent fishing for salmon. His love for the outdoors extended to camping adventures, with a special fondness for the tranquility of a trout pond. Gladwin, MI, held a special place in J.C.'s heart, as it was the backdrop for countless gatherings filled with laughter, love, and shared experiences. His home was a sanctuary where family and friends gathered, creating a haven of warmth and hospitality.Family meant the world to J.C., and he reveled in every opportunity to spend quality time with his loved ones. Family trips were a source of immense joy for him, from the rugged beauty of Alaska to the tropical paradise of Hawaii, and the vast landscapes of Canada. J.C. also crisscrossed the United States, leaving a trail of wonderful memories from coast to coast. Missouri, in particular, held a special place in his heart, and he often found himself drawn to its beauty. J.C. will be remembered for his zest for life, his love of nature, and the countless moments of camaraderie shared around the campfire. He leaves behind a legacy of adventure, laughter, and love that will forever echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. On November 20, 1987, Euwilda joined her life with Bryon Perry in a beautiful union in Davison, MI. Together, they created a tapestry of love and shared countless memories over the years. She retired from General Motors in 2000 after 30 years of service. Euwilda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for fishing, a passion for the great outdoors, and a deep connection with animals, especially her cherished dogs, illuminated her days. Whether casting a line into the serene waters, exploring the beauty of nature through camping and hunting, or simply basking in the warmth of family gatherings, Euwilda embraced life with a spirit that radiated happiness. Virginia later worked for almost 20 years as the Administrative Assistant at the Davison United Methodist Church. Virginia enjoyed reading and spending time at the family cottage. She also cherished time with her family. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Nancy A. Fike; son, James F. (Jamie L.) Fike; 2 granddaughters, Sophia L. Fike and Cordelia L. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. The family will receive visitors 12-3 and 4-8 PM Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. There will be two hours of visitation prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison-Richfield Fire Department Association, GFHA Youth Hockey Crystal Field House of Burton or plant a tree in memory of Eric, at a location of your choice. The family kindly asks that everyone attending the Mass on Thursday, February 15, 2024 to wear something that you associate with Eric. Hockey jerseys, camouflage and University of Michigan apparel are all welcome. Eric doesn’t care how you dress as he accepted and loved everybody. Eric was born in Flint, MI on September 17, 1967, son of the late Allan Joseph and Sharon Lee (Morse) Schroeder. He married Andrea Kitchen on April 24, 1992, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. Eric worked at Hank Graff Chevrolet from 1986 – 2006, working as a mechanic for 13 years, then sold cars for 7 years. He began his career at Mersino’s in 2006 as a Logistics Manager. Eric honorably worked for the Davison Fire Department for 30 years, retiring as a battalion chief on November 15, 2018. One of Eric’s many loves were playing hockey, hunting with his family and friends, camping, being outdoors and traveling. Eric loved people and was known for being the life of the party. He was dedicated, hardworking and never turned down a meal, as everyone knew he loved food! Eric is survived by his wife, Andrea; children, Kyle and Emily; siblings, Celeste (Carl) Zipperer, Devin (Carrie) Schroeder, Mark (Chris) Schroeder; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; and his favorite dog, Tess.
