James Dean Obituary

James Allen Dean, 78, of Albion died April 14, 2023. He was born September 12, 1944, in Albion to Floyd C. and Ruth A. (Romanchuk) Dean. They have both preceded him in death. James was a lifelong resident of Albion. He was an Albion High School Graduate and went on to attend both Albion College as well as MSU before landing a job at the Battle Creek Enquirer where he worked for 40 years along with teaching a journalism class at Albion College. He also worked at the Albion Recorder when he was in High School. James loved to travel, he went to Germany in 9th grade as an exchange student and followed up the years with trips all over the world. He loved exploring new places. He also enjoyed art, antiques, cooking and hosting estate sales. He helped many people over the years with liquidating estates. James was always out and about in his community and enjoyed the many friends he met along the way. He also loved to get together with his classmates regularly attending events and the many lunch and dinner dates. James leaves to cherish his memory, his brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Dean of Albion, nephew, Jerry Dean II, nephew, Jayden Dean, niece, Rochelle (Cirena Bonee) Dean and many extended family and countless friends. A graveside service to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 1PM at Riverside Cemetery in Albion, MI.
