Dora Dellean Pannell went home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2023. She was born on March 18, 1929, in Cove City, Arkansas to James and Victoria Ramey. She married Roy Marion Pannell of Natural Dam, Arkansas on September 29, 1946 and they had five children. He was the love of her life, and they were together 67 years. She was of the Pentecostal faith and often said, "She was proud of it. " Her passion was serving the Lord, and her treasured bible was kept close by, which she read and lived by daily. She had opportunities in which she preached the gospel and never failed to give her testimony of her blessings and miracles she has received over the years. Described as a great woman of God, a mighty prayer warrior and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her legacy is a life lived by her love, prayers, generosity, and steadfast faith that will remain and live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all those that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband: Roy Pannell and son: Daryl Pannell. She is survived by two sons: Roy Pannell of Coleman, Texas and Ricky Pannell of Brownwood, Texas; two daughters: Karen Walker of Van Buren, Arkansas and Donna Woten and husband Larry of West Plains, Missouri, twelve grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Graveside service will be held at 10:00a. m. on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Fort Smith US National Cemetery, 522 Garland Ave. Ft. Smith, AR 72901 with Pastor Don Hall officiating. Reverend Richard "Dickie" Allen Maness, age 73, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He graduated from Mansfield High School in 1968. He was blessed to have Christian parents who guided him in the ways of the Lord. He became a Christian at age 9 and surrendered to the ministry at the age of 19. His heart's desire was to follow God's direction for a ministry to lead, equip and shepherd His people through evangelism, discipleship and pastoral care. In every aspect of his life, he submitted himself to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and surrendered to the guidance of God's word and His Holy Spirit. He believed this was God's calling on his life for His glory. He was licensed to the ministry by Ione Baptist Church in Booneville Arkansas in 1969. He was ordained to the ministry by Calvary Baptist Church in Mansfield Arkansas in 1970. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Ouachita Baptist University in 1975 and with a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary in 1978. He married the love of his life, Marsha on December 28, 1973. He was a devoted husband whose unwavering love and companionship spanned nearly five decades. He loved her and doted on her from the very beginning. His deep commitment and enduring affection for his wife created a rich tapestry of shared joys, weathered challenges, and lasting memories. The legacy of their love story will continue to inspire those touched by the enduring bond they shared. She was his everything. He loved his family more than anything. He was a father whose love for his daughters was a beacon of strength and tenderness. His enduring support, wise guidance, and boundless affection created an eternal gift of love that will resonate through the lives of his beloved daughters, a testament to the enduring power of a father's love. He was so proud of them and their families. He was a devoted "Papa" whose heart overflowed with unconditional love for his grandchildren. They brought so much joy and happiness into his life. He was a dedicated and faithful pastor of James Fork Baptist Church in Mansfield Arkansas, where his commitment to spiritual guidance, compassionate leadership and heartfelt service profoundly impacted the lives of congregants, leaving an enduring legacy of faith and love within the church he served so faithfully. He also served as pastor of Maple Grove Baptist Church in Trumann, Arkansas, Immanuel Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Immanuel Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas and associate pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Pocola, Oklahoma. During the last several years, he was a substitute teacher for the Fort Smith Public School District. His vibrant spirit illuminated countless classrooms with laughter and joy. His infectious laughter and delightful jokes brightened the days of both students and office staff alike. His genuine love for the daily interaction with students and camaraderie with the school's teachers and office staff created an environment where learning was not only educational but also a celebration of shared smiles and light-hearted moments. His gentle guidance, warm laughter, and cherished moments will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Kay Maness; two daughters, Sara Craig and husband, Blain of Midlothian, Texas and Jessica Simmons and husband, Josh of Fort Smith, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Ashton Craig of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ethan Craig of Midlothian Texas, Caleb Maness and Raegan and Zada Simmons of Fort Smith Arkansas; sister, Deb Maness of Leesville, LA and his brother, Jimmy Maness of Barling, AR. He was preceded in death by parents, Jimmie Maness and Zada Sue Maness, brother, Tommy Maness and mother and father-in-law, Robert and Helen Dorris. Gerry Don Vaughn, 53, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 in Fort Smith. He was born December 17, 1969 in Fort Smith to Deborah and Bobby Vaughn. Gerry Don served 23 years with the Arkansas Army National Guard, he loved stock car racing, grilling out, children and his family and friends. Patricia Paulette Panis, 80, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 in her home. She worked at Tyson in Waldron, Arkansas but is remembered as the family caregiver in her most recent years. Pat was a mom, grandma, sister, aunt, friend and a caregiver to so many. She loved everyone unconditionally. Among many of the things she enjoyed in life were the many calls from her children, enjoying watching Hallmark movies with her sister Janice, listening to the Gaithers, reading a good book and staying on top of current events in the world. She was preceded in death by her son, Vincent Paul "Mike" Panis; her children's father, Vincent Inte Panis; mother, Sadie Lynch; father, Orville Emberton; step-father, Kelly Okazawki; sister, Marie Spain and three brothers, Orville Emberton, Wade Emberton and Alvie Emberton. Frances Camille "Cammie" VanGorder, who resided near Greenwood, Arkansas, died Sunday, November 19, 2023, at her home. She was born on November 14, 1966, in Ozark, Arkansas, to the late John Joseph VanGorder and Linda Faye (Johnson) VanGorder. She was 57 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Luke Batey. Cammie was a Christian. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her. Michael Shane Doss born on November 12, 1976, passed away at his home in Fort Smith, Arkansas on November 14, 2023. Shane was born to Mike and Glenda Doss of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Shane grew up with one brother, Allen and attended Greenwood High School. Shane worked at International Paper for 26 years before extending his career to HarperLove as a Technical Support Specialist. Shane met his wife, Lori Doss and got married on April 12, 2008. Shane and Lori enjoyed traveling, hiking, kayaking, spending time outdoors, and going to the beach. Shane had two boys, Michael and Cole Doss, whom he loved dearly. Shane and his boys enjoyed hunting, four wheeling, target shooting, exploring, and spending time on the lake. Every year Shane, his father, brother, and friends would go to deer camp where they would spend time together, hunt, and ride four wheelers. This was something he looked forward to each year. Shane was an avid outdoorsman, spending any time he could being outdoors and in nature. Shane resided at his home in Rye Hill with his wife Lori in the years prior to his passing. Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Homer Lee and Sylvia Dean Dillard, and Bill Max Doss. Shane is survived by his wife of 15 years, Lori Taylor Doss; sons, Noah Michael and Remington Cole Doss; parents, Mike and Glenda Doss; grandmother, Lillian Etter; brother, Allen Doss and wife, Tara; nieces and nephews, Cortlyn and Peyton Doss, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
