James Victor "Jimmy" Alexander Jr. , 83, of Lewisville, Arkansas passed away on September 10, 2023. Jimmy was born on December 16, 1939 in Hope, Arkansas to James Victor Alexander Sr and Vera Lou (Roberson) Alexander. Throughout life Jimmy wore many hats, former mayor of Lewisville, Arkansas, County Judge of Lafayette County, Lafayette County Circuit Clerk, and Lafayette County Sheriff. He also worked for the VA in Lafayette County in Veteran's Services. Staying busy as a jack of all trades, he built the family home as well. Jimmy served his country in the United States Air Force and throughout all his careers, his love of his family ranked the highest. Making time for some fishing in his spare time when he could. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Vera Alexander; daughter, Laurie Alexander; and brothers, Jerry Lee Alexander and Charles Moran. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda Kay Alexander; son Jamie Alexander of Lewisville, Arkansas; daughter, Amanda Bolinger and husband, Aaron of Shelbyville, Illinois; brother Dennis Moran and wife Toni of Walker, Louisiana; sisters, Vicky Alford of Stephenville, Texas and Sonja Crick and husband Charles of Harrison, Arkansas; grandchildren, Brooke Jones and husband Cody, Wade Adams and wife Meghan, Emma Qualls and husband Michael and Lucas Brady; seven great granddaughters; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Betty May Judd, age 82, of Lewisville, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Thursday November 23, 2023. She was born March 10, 1941, in Lewisville, Arkansas to Edna Bright May and Claudie May. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Lewisville. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She spent her life in service of others, always putting herself last. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Vance Judd, her parents Edna May and Claudie May, her son-in-law Gary Harman and one sister, Mary Lois Robertson. She is survived by one son, Bill Judd and wife Denise of Washington, Arkansas and one daughter, Jill Harman of Lewisville, Arkansas. Betty also leaves behind four grandchildren, Brad Judd and wife Patrice of Friendship, Arkansas, Phillip Judd and wife Kayla of Spring Hill, Arkansas, Paige Porter and husband Jordan and Fallon Park and husband Clint, all of Lewisville, Arkansas. Moreover, Grandmother/Memaw leaves behind her most precious great-grandbabies, Kenley, Pacer, Piper, Paelyn, Moxie, Preslee, Tyler, and Ryan. Lastly, she is survived by two sisters, Helen Wright, Louise Black and husband John, one brother-in-law Donald Lee Judd and wife Carol, numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored. Betty was a 1959 graduate of Lewisville High School. She was an insurance agent, co-owned the cleaners in Lewisville, and worked for Dr. Harrison. Bet's favorite job by far, was helping raise her four grandchildren. She taught Sunday School and served on numerous committees at church throughout the years. She enjoyed cooking and canning and there was always wonderful food at her home. Bet was very creative and loved to craft. Without a doubt her favorite pastime was sewing. She could stitch up anything from drapes to wedding dresses to costumes. There will be a visitation Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at A O Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, Arkansas. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Wilson Cemetery, Stamps Arkansas with Brother Charlie Zumwalt officiating, under the direction of A O Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas. Donald Wayne Helms, 80, of Lewisville, Arkansas, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023, in Lewisville. He was born November 8, 1942, to Irwin and Ima Loyce Helms in Lewisville, Arkansas. Don owned and operated Dons Quick Stop in Lewisville for many years, until he retired. He enjoyed cutting firewood, keeping his yard clean, going to car shows, but mostly, he loved spending time with his family. Don was preceded in death by his Parents and two great grandchildren, Donald Blain and Robert Reed Jr. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Helms. One son Gary Helms (Glenda) of Texarkana, Arkansas. One daughter, Donna Lambdin (Jon) of Columbia, South Carolina. Seven grandchildren, Philip Helms (April) of Bradley, Arkansas, Heather Turner (Curtis) of Benton, Louisiana, Sharon Allen (Greg) of Ashdown, Arkansas, Hillary Whittington of Lexington, South Carolina, Gina Perez (Ray) of Texarkana, Texas, Lori Reed (Bobby) of Columbia, South Carolina and Jared Gazzolo (Brittany) of New Boston, Texas. Wade Allen Ray, 55, of Lewisville, Arkansas passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023. He was born on March 20, 1968 to Bill and Estlen Ray in Stonewall, Arkansas. Wade enjoyed working, fishing and hunting but, his favorite pastime was having a good time with family and friends. Preceding him in death was his parents, Bill and Estlen (Brown) Ray; two brothers, Ernest Ray and Taylor Ray; and two sisters Gerladene Choates and Pauline Paine. Richard Cole Haycox of Lewisville, Arkansas, departed this life on July 23, 2023. He was born on February 16, 1961, in Lonoke, Arkansas to Claudie and Wilma Thomas Haycox. Mr. Haycox worked as a general manager at the Hope Star and KITPA Radio for many years. Richard is preceded in death by both his mother and father, Claudie and Wilma Haycox, his beloved brother Sammy Haycox, and one grandson, Phoenix Fant. He and his twin brother "Chubby" we're born September 22, 1962 to Louise and Kestion Clark. He was preceded in death by his father, Kestion, Step-brother, Robert Clark, and his grandparents Edgar and Mittie Clark. Peewee loved being outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, working on stuff, and going places with his favorite cousin who was more like a brother, Tracy Clark. He loved his two sons with all of his heart and always did whatever he could for them. Garland Floyd Eubanks, 88, of Lewisville, Arkansas, passed from this life on December 12, 2022. Garland was born on September 7, 1934, in Casa, Arkansas to Joshua Holmes and Ruby Eubanks. When he wasn't 'piddlin' around in the yard, Garland could be found working with his cows, but, during hunting season, you often would find him in the wood's deer hunting.
