Jakie L. Teutschmann, age 86 of Shullsburg, WI passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Lafayette Manor in Darlington, WI. He was born June 17, 1932 in Shullsburg Township in Lafayette County, WI the son of Christen and Lydia (Ubersox) Teutschmann. Jakie graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1951. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Barbara A. Staicar on August 5, 1951 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington. Together they ran a dairy and hog farm. In 1991 they moved into their new home in the city of Shullsburg. He retired from farming in 1996. Jakie is survived by his wife of 67 years Barb at home; his children: Deborah (Robert) Unbehaun, Mary Gensler, Chris (Ruth Ann) Teutschmann all of Shullsburg, Kathy (Roger) Coulthard of Stockton, IL, Carolyn (Tony) Jacobson of Janesville, WI, Donna Foley of Ridgeway, WI, Connie (Larry) Binns of Oconomowoc, WI, and David (Susan) Teutschmann of Hastings, NE; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one on the way in March; two brothers: Godfrey Teutschmann of Darlington and Frank (Margaret) Teutschmann of Shullsburg; one sister: Mary Lindsay of Darlington; a brother-in-law: Charles (Karyn) Staicar of Marshall, NC; and four sisters-in-law: Dolores Young of Dubuque, IA, Mary Louise Teutschmann of Darlington, Jean Tregloan of Shullsburg, and Vidie McGillivary of Benton, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Bill Teutschmann and Fritz Teutschmann; three brothers-in-law: Francis Staicar, Donald Lindsay, and Bill Young; and one son-in-law: Charles Gensler. Jakie was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg and the Shullsburg Lions Club. He served on the FS Co-Op Board for eleven years and was a member of the Shullsburg Township Board for many years. He also took great pride being a part of the Emily Franz Scholarship Board in Shullsburg for 33 years. Jakie was a huge fan of the Shullsburg Miner's football team and the girls basketball team and attended many of the home games. He was an avid fan of the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers. Jakie cherished his family more than anything and the memories they created together. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church (226 W. Church St., Shullsburg) with Rev. Stanton Bockwoldt officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg. A visitation will be held Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church and on Saturday from 9:30 until 10:45 A.M. at the church.
