Recently her first love changed from her cats to her granddaughter: Layla Jane French. Survivors include her husband of 42 years: Kevin French, Valdosta, GA; daughter: Brenda Lee French, Valdosta, GA; son \u0026amp; fiancé: Jeffrey Alan French (Kim Fukes), Valdosta, GA; granddaughter: Layla Jane French; sister: Donna Glockzin, Muskegon, MI; 3 brothers \u0026amp; sisters-in-law: Louis Glockzin, III (Karen), Jenison, MI, Thomas Glockzin (Elizabeth), Spring Lake, NC, James Glockzin, Muskegon, MI and a number of nieces \u0026amp; nephews. As per her wishes, she will be cremated, and no formal services will be held. Jackie “Jack” Edwards Davis, 77, of Valdosta, GA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 15, 2024, after a battle with esophageal cancer.He was born on October 2, 1946, in Lansing, Michigan to Gayle and Virginia (nee Perdue) Davis. Jackie attended Charlotte High School and was an over-the-road truck driver for most of his career. Jackie was a relentless tinkerer, always working on something, always having multiple projects in the works. Easy to recognize by his trucker hats and button-down shirts, he was up early every day. He was a skilled wheeler and dealer, never missed an opportunity to find a great deal at an auction or yard sale.Jackie is survived by his wife of almost 40 years Joan (nee McHugh), children Shelby Davis, Joanie (Jason) Myers, James (Jill) Davis, Joshua (Cynthia Basta) Davis, Jonnee (Cody Gilbert) Davis, Jackee (Russell Smith) Davis, 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and his two beloved dogs, Roxie and Samme. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother John, who died during the Vietnam War, and sisters Tyrrie Metters and Foy Jean Hackler.There will be no public funeral services, the family will celebrate his life with a private memorial at a future date. Michael L. Rigg, 81, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Fellowship Home Brookside. He was born on April 25, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio to the late George and Christine Barber Rigg. Mr. Rigg was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was retired from the United States Postal Service having assumed many jobs and responsibilities during his tenure. He was a member of the Alapaha Masonic Lodge (Grand Master), VFW 1777 (Commander from ’04-’06), an avid Alabama football fan, and huge supporter of the VSU baseball team. He had coached his children as they were growing up in many of the sporting activities they were involved with and God, Country, and family was his mantra. Mr. Rigg was a member of the First Christian Church.He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Susan Rigg, and Brendan and Kristi Jo Rigg all of Valdosta; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Bryan Tompkins of Leesburg, Georgia; his grandchildren, Brittany Haney and her husband Lucas Haney of Barney, Ga., Tyler Lewis of Minot, North Dakota, Sally Lewis of Tifton, Georgia, Cassie Rigg and Colton Rigg both of Valdosta; great-grandchild, Chase Haney of Barney. He was preceded by his wife of 55 years, Janet Gossett Rigg.A memorial service for Michael L. Rigg will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at First Christian Church of Valdosta. Robert "Bob" M. Travillian, age 88, of Valdosta, peacefully passed away at home on Monday, February 12, 2024. He was born in Flint, MI, on May 17, 1935, to the late Melvin Joel Travillian and Ruth Rebecca Owen Travillian. Bob graduated from GMI General Motors Ins. and pursued his education at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. For 31 years, he dedicated his career as an Engineer at General Motors. It was during his time at the University of Michigan where he met the love of his life, Mary Jo Kinsey. On November 25, 1961, they exchanged vows in Ann Arbor and shared a beautiful journey together. In 2005, following his retirement, Bob and Mary Jo relocated to Valdosta.Throughout his life, Bob found great joy in serving others. He selflessly volunteered with AARP, providing assistance with income tax preparation. As a devoted member of Crossroads Baptist Church, he embarked on seven mission trips to Honduras and participated in short-term missions in North Carolina and Georgia. He had served as a Red Coat at South Georgia Medical Center for 12 years. Bob also had a passion for travel, particularly enjoying his trips to Aruba.Bob will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Jo Travillian of Valdosta; his son, William Russell Travillian of West Palm, FL; his daughter, Lisa Jo Travillian of Athens, AL; and his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Sally Kinsey of DeWitt, NY. Williams and Beulah Mae Daugherty Williams. As a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, James contributed to the historic launch of the first communications satellite sent into space by the United States. She worked as a Nutritionist with the Lowndes County Board of Education at Pine Grove Elementary School for many years. She is member of Swilley Hill Church of God. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and working in her flower beds. She had a caring heart and always wanted to help others. She loved her family, especially her “Sweet Pea”. Along with her father, she is preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry E. and Betty Peters; sister-in-law, Brenda Kay Peters; brother-in-law, Ricky Peters. Survivors include her husband, Jerry L. He was the cherished son of Olivin Dodge Connelly and Marie Agnes (Murray) Connelly, both of whom have preceded him in death.Jim Connelly was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He has been a member of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church since he moved to Valdosta in 1975.He played and excelled in multiple sports in high school, including football, basketball and baseball. He enjoyed golfing for many years and watched sports his entire life. He also enjoyed collecting coins and stamps.After graduating from Depew High School, he pursued several years of college education, shaping a foundation for a life well-lived. A proud veteran, James served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954, before marrying the love of life, Barb, 69 years ago. He loved her and his entire family unconditionally.James is survived by his devoted spouse of 69 years, Barbara May Connelly (Schutt). Together, they created a legacy of love and commitment. He leaves behind four loving children: Kevin Connelly (late wife Joan [2015]) of Minneapolis, MN; Jim Connelly and wife Jennifer of Valdosta, GA; Joan Robertson and husband Gary of Hahira, GA; and Steven Connelly and wife Erika of Minneapolis, MN.His memory lives on through eight grandchildren: Paul Nutting, Molly Nutting and wife Christie, Megan Roden and husband Chuck, Michael Walker and wife Laura, Chad Walker, R.J. Yancey, Matthew Yancey, and Maxwell Connelly. Additionally, he is survived by thirteen great-grandchildren: Leo, Nico, Maya, Tyler, Lucie, Alden, Abigail, Anna Kate, Dixon, Rachel, Zelia Ann, Cayden and Maxwell.James is also remembered by his siblings Martin Connelly and wife Estelle of Lancaster, NY, Mariette Miller (late husband John [1998]) of Lancaster, NY, Neil Connelly and wife Trish of Lancaster, NY. Unfortunately, he was predeceased by two sons, Keith and Scott Connelly.James Murray Connelly's impact extended beyond family, touching the lives of many dear friends and extended family members. Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, Georgia, with Bro. Lee Waller officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Allen and Allen Funeral Home in Thomasville from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Born in Waurika, Oklahoma on August 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Loyd and Nora Rice. She was married to Joseph D. Fudge for 33 years and later to Carroll E. Higgs, Sr., both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Waurika, Oklahoma and moved to Pelham and then later to Thomasville, Georgia after meeting her husband, Joseph Fudge, in Texas while he was serving in the United States Air Force. She was always very proud of both of her sons, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She enjoyed playing cards, putting together puzzles with friends, and watching the Atlanta Braves. Lanell was a long-time, active member of Dawson Street Baptist Church in Thomasville, Georgia. Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Ron (Virginia) Fudge of Canton, Georgia and Larry (Stephanie) Fudge of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren, Dustin (Jenny) Fudge of Marietta, Georgia, Meredith (John) Todd of Buford, Georgia, Kristen Suarez of Valdosta, Georgia, and Tanner (Liz) Fudge of Savannah, Georgia; step-grandchildren, Parker, Shay, and Lexie; greatgrandchildren, Lael, June, Noah, Elliette, Kinleigh, Jase, Riley, and Colson; and step-greatgrandchildren, Abigail, Branten, and Cliff; sister, Glenda Heath of Comanche, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Nan Rice of Wichita Falls, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Donald, James, and Robert Rice and sister-in-law Bonnie Rice. She was often described as a firecracker. She found joy in spending time with her family and her cherished dog, Coco, and had a deep passion for her bartending career in the Valdosta area, retiring from The Hanger. Tisha's love for the beach was evident, reflecting her free-spirited nature.Tisha is survived by her daughter, Lorrie Saliba-Horne, and granddaughter, Samantha Horne, both of Barwick, GA, as well as three brothers: Ronnie Kennedy of Coolidge, GA; Eugene Kennedy of Riverview, FL; and Chris Kennedy of Moultrie, GA and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Brian Ray Saliba, her husbands, Johnie L.
