Age 68, of Flint, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at McLaren Flint with her family by her side. In accordance with Phyllis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no further services scheduled at this time. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Phyllis’ tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com. Phyllis was born in Empire, Michigan, on July 11, 1955, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald and Beulah (Moore) Mitchell. Educated in Alaska, Phyllis attended East High in Anchorage and graduated with the Class of 1974. Phyllis met and married the love of her life, Frank Talas, on February 2, 1974. Phyllis worked as a Switch Board Operator for the Department of Defense until her retirement in 2019. Phyllis started working for the DOD due to being placed under a handicapped program working for 59 Signal as a telephone operator. She also worked for the Corps of Engineers for the Office of Environmental Cleanup Sites for the DOD and then went back to being a telephone operator. After her 20 years there, she went to work for the United States Army JBER Library in Fort Richardson, where she worked for 10 years. She instituted a program to help children learn to read, called PAWS to Read which she ran for 5 years. She received awards from the Air Force for the PAWS program. The program brought in children, up to the age of 12, to help them learn to read and comprehend. The program entailed having service dogs and therapy dogs as well as emotional support animals. She received an award from former First Lady, Melania Trump, and was told it was one of the best help-teach-to-read programs that she had seen in the country. In her free time, Phyllis enjoyed crocheting and every Friday night, she enjoyed playing World of Warcraft video games with her husband where she acquired an online family playing the game that she still talks to to this day. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Left to cherish Phyllis' memory are her beloved husband of 50 years, Frank Talas; children: Paulette Erickson, Scott and wife, Elizabeth Talas; grandchildren: Amanda, Austin, Aaron, Elysia, Malakai, Adarah, Tristan, Elanor, Blue, Cassandra, Franklin, III; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Elliott; sister, Donna Ambe-Ramsey; several other family and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents.

Daniel also enjoyed watching various television shows and movies. He was a fan of Michigan Football and the Detroit Lions as well. Daniel loved his family and he will be dearly missed. Daniel leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents Geneva (Jennings) and Dale Linscott; brother Steven Graham Oakes; stepbrothers Jeffrey Ryan and Gregory Todd Linscott; stepsister Teresa Ellen (Martin) Horken; and nephew Logan Dale Avery. Surrounded by his family, Daniel will be laid to rest at a later date.

He passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 in Flint, Michigan at the age of 70 years. He was a longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan, attended Saginaw Public Schools, served in and received an Honorable Discharge from the U. S. Army. He was a retiree of General Motors Corporation. Pat was the life of the party, very direct, outspoken, full of pride had confidence and always made himself very clear. He loved fishing, football (a big Michigan\u0026nbsp;fan) and enjoyed playing dominos.\u0026nbsp; Mr. Henderson leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Chiarina (John) Butler, Pineville, NC, Taneisha Henderson, Jacksonville, AR and Jessica Henderson, Flint, MI; eight grandchildren, Tanzania and Tunisia Carruth (twins), both of Saginaw, Derrian Henderson, Glendale, AZ, Darrick Carruth II, Saginaw, Kyhia Butler, Janynia Butler, both of Pineville, NC, Miyat Johnson and Mariah Nelson, Jacksonville, AR; three great-grandchildren, Gregory Rutherford III, Saginaw, Charlotte and Kennedy Jefferies, both of Glendale, AZ; sisters, Debra Dawkins of Saginaw, MI, Francesca Benton of Atlanta, GA; Janice Brown of Columbus, OH and Renee Brown of Saginaw, MI; five brothers, Dennis Hunter, Jessie Thomas, David Henderson, Robert and Louis Brown, all of Saginaw; his true love, Shirley Person; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including childhood friends, Richard Snead, Larry Russell, Dan Shivers, Henry Trice, Jerome Buckley, the Carruth family and the Clark family. Mr. Pat Henry Henderson was preceded in death by on son, Darrick Carruth; grandson, Baby Jihad Joy; father, Pat Henderson, Sr; mother, Slestean Hall. Joyce Alice Stone, age 90, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. In 1954 Joyce married the love of her life Edward. They were married for 63 years. Joyce was a member of the South Flint Church of the Nazarene. Joyce worked as a secretary at the church for 25 years. She was also a part of many groups within the church such as the women's ministries, choir, mission group and was a senior adult minister. Joyce is survived by her children David (Lorri) Stone, Deanne Stone-Hempton; grandchildren Krystal Stone, Joshua Stone, Nicholas Stone, and Jacob Stone. Preceded by her husband Edward Stone, son-in-law Richard Hempton, grandson Mitchel Stone, and her parents Clarence and Alice Sisco.
