Charles Leon “Chuck” Kennedy 67, of Baker, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his home. Chuck was born on August 22, 1956 to Charles and Emily Kennedy in Crestview, Florida and was raised in California and Arizona to then move back to his home as an adult to the family farm. Chuck was a retired Captain with the Department of Corrections after over 20 years of dedicated service. He was a mormon by faith who loved spending time with his grandchildren and took pride in teaching his grandson how to swim. He was loved by all and will be missed dearly. Chuck is preceded in death by his mother Emily Porter and his sister, Julie Thompson. Chuck is survived by his with of 16 years, Linda Kennedy, his daughters, Alexis Jarvis (Shawn), Surprise, Az. and Jennifer Brown, the three stepchildren, Caitlyn Green (Trey), Amanda Maestre (Dominic) and Devon Cassidy, his three brothers, Doug Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy and Frank Kennedy, seven grandchildren, Sean, Alaina, Jazmine, Zoie, Lainey, Mikey and Emily and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry Gene Ward ,65 of Baker, Florida passed away at his home on 12/30/2023. Larry was born on January 27, 1958 to Vernon and Emogene Ward in Crestview, Florida. Larry grew up in Baker where he attended Baker school. He lived In Baker/Milligan where he enjoyed fishing,hunting, hanging out at the back of his pick up truck. Larry may have had some struggles but lived his life to the fullest. He spent most of his time driving around the world in a semi, which he loved to do, him and his pug Peterbuilt, who was his favorite dog. Where ever Larry was Peterbuilt was there with him. I’m sure there has been a time that Larry has made anyone that knew him laugh, cry or even upset at least once. The family is grateful to know that he is finally at peace. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Eugene Ward and Emogene Garrett Ward, his brothers, Ronald Gene Ward, Lloyd Crawford, Eugene (Slim) Ward and Randall Gene Ward, his sister, Bobbi Ward Kennedy. Larry is survived by his three daughter’s Tami Davis, Christie Ward and Chastity Teboe, his two grandchildren, Micah Teboe (16) and Mykayla Teboe (15) along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In Loving Memory of David R. Griffin David R. Griffin, 78, of Baker, Florida, passed away on January 2, 2024, after a brief illness. Born on August 22, 1945, in Georgia, to James and Pauline Griffin, Sr., David was the beloved husband of Marie Griffin, and they shared 26 years of marriage together. David, affectionately nicknamed "Day," grew up on a farm in Georgia alongside his brothers James Jr. "Snook" and Maybre "May." At the age of 18, David embarked on a remarkable 50-year career as a long-haul truck driver, earning numerous awards for his dedication to safety and accumulating over 2 million accident-free miles with Arnold and Silver Eagle. His commitment to his profession was unmatched. On September 20, 1997, David and Marie exchanged vows at Bethel Church in Barney, Georgia, marking the beginning of a loving journey. Together, with Marie's three children and their spouses, they became a close-knit family, blessed with six grandchildren whom David adored. Camping and fishing trips were among their cherished moments, creating lasting memories. David enjoyed raising horses and had several throughout the years, including miniature ponies. His love for the outdoors extended to camping, fishing, and traveling, providing moments of adventure. An active member of the First Baptist Church of Milligan in Milligan, Florida, David found solace and community within his faith. He is survived by his loving wife Marie, Marie's children Linette Clausman (Chris), Jennifer Young (Jason), Jason Godwin (Angel), grandchildren Gavin, Leslee, Logan, Kaylee, Tristan, and Levi, as well as his brothers, James Griffin, Sr. (Margaret) and Maybre Griffin (Elaine). David also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death are his parents, James and Pauline Griffin, Sr. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 10:00 am at Whitehurst Funeral Home, followed by services at 11:00 am and burial at the First Baptist Church of Milligan cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in David's name can be sent to the First Baptist Church of Milligan, reflecting his enduring commitment to his faith community. David R. Joyce Richards Blalock-Cosson, 87, of Baker, Florida passed away on December 25 , 2023. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends in her home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, December 30 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Baker, Florida. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 10 am to 10:30 am. In Lieu of Flowers the family has requested donations to be made to Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Joyce was born on January 8, 1936 to James Irvin and Bessie Delanie Richards. Joyce attended Baker High School and graduated in 1954. After graduation, Joyce moved to Washington, DC and worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Identification Department. Joyce would eventually return to Baker. She would work for M.R.&R Trucking Company, and then for 29 years for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. After retiring from the USPS, Joyce work for the House Agency as a realtor. Joyce was a big believer in giving back to your community. She served as the President of the Baker Lions Club Chapter and actively traveled to various elementary and pre-schools in the providing eye sight screenings for children as part of the non-profit Kids Sight. Joyce is survived by her current husband John Clark Cosson, daughter from her first marriage, Jennifer Blalock Moore, sister Linda Richards, grandchildren Dylan, Cassidy, Kristen, Sterling, Kendall, Cameron, Aspen and great-grandson Jackson. She is preceded in death by her first husband Eddie Blalock, Sr., (d. 1995), sons Eddie Rogers Blalock, Jr, and James Monroe Blalock.

Ronnie William Sullivan 77, of Baker, Florida passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Ronnie was born on October 28, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama to William and Melba Sullivan. Ronnie joined the United States Air Force in June of 1966 and was a proud Vietnam Veteran to then serve thirty four years in logistics for the civil service. Ronnie also was the owner of Truss Me Manufacturing for thirteen years. Ronnie was a member of the Playground and Sunset Corvette and and enjoyed traveling seeing seven states in ten years. He loved to eat his wife's cooking, watch Alabama Football "Roll Tide" and watch NHRA Nascar Racing. Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Melba Sullivan. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Angela, he is also survived by his sister, Jan Jole and husband Rob, Nieces, Kristi Litrell and husband Steve, Gwen Kurzen and husband Bob, Katie Wyatt and husband Travis, his great nephews, Devin Whitsett, Trevor Wyatt and Charity Fulfur and Reed Kurzen, his great nieces, Danielle Whitsett and Josh Chapman, Karly Wyatt and Kayman Kurzen and his great great nephews, Jacz Wyatt Ario and Kyland Chapman.
