Jackie Noble Lukehart, Sr. , 84, of Washington, passed away at 2:15am Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Washington Senior Living. He was born June 20, 1939 in Peoria to the late Orville E. and Gladys DeMoss Lukehart. He married Darthey Parker on January 24, 1959. Surviving is his wife, Darthey; his children, Flora (Randy) Gestrine and Jack (Erin) Lukehart, Jr. ; granddaughter, Jacqueline Gestrine; great-grandsons, Noble and William; and his fur babies, Frigg and Dio. He was also preceded in death by his siblings. Jackie was an Army veteran, serving as a medic during the Vietnam era and also as a cook during his service with the National Guard. He retired from the Morton Caterpillar plant in 1999. He retired to Knoxville, TN, where he was a member of New Beverly Baptist Church until they returned to this area. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00am Monday, September 11, 2023 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fresenius Kidney Care in East Peoria.

Jerry M. Smith, 78, of Washington, IL died at 6:25 pm on Monday, December 4, 2023, with his family by his side. Jerry was born on July 3, 1945 in Springfield, MO, the son of Monroe and Ruby Smith. He married JoEllen Boring, his high school sweetheart, in 1965. She survives. He was blessed with three daughters, Jill (Phil) Morrison of LeRoy, IL, Stephanie (Tom) Standish of Eureka, IL, and Jessica (Kyle) Goode of Washington, IL; eight grandchildren, Britany Morrison of Milwaukee, WI, Zachary (Almy) Morrison of Tampa, FL, Ally (Shane) Hingtgen of Tiffin, IA, Tom (Charlotte) Standish of Savannah, GA, Connor Standish of Eureka, IL, JD Standish of Eureka, IL, Zane Goode of Washington, IL and Nora Goode of Washington, IL, and one great-grandchild, Harper Hingtgen of Tiffin, IA. He is also survived by two brothers, Joe (Norma) Smith of Shiloh, IL and Jackie (Kathy) Smith of Seymour, MO; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In 1965, Jerry was hired at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Peoria, where he retired after 44 years. He enjoyed his job and was fortunate to travel to France, England Northern Ireland, Germany, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, China, India, Australia and Tasmania. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), where he worked on national drafting standards. Jerry enjoyed golf, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's extracurricular events. Jerry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. There are no words that express how much his family and friends will miss him. A visitation will be from 4-6 pm Friday, December 8, 2023 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, IL. On Sunday, December 10, 2023, the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Seymour, MO will be open for viewing from 2-4 pm. Jason Hexamer Obituary Jason D. Hexamer, 51, of Washington, IL, passed away at his residence on Monday, November 27, 2023. He was born on October 18, 1972, in Peoria. He is the son of Robert and Jeanette Wurster Hexamer. Surviving are his parents, two brothers, David (Amy) Hexamer and Scott Hexamer, all of Washington, and one sister, Michelle (Scott) Whitby of Peoria. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Emma, Addison, Kelsey, Stephanie, Jesse, Cody, Kallie, Caleb, and Chloe. His maternal and paternal grandparents and one infant nephew Brock all preceded him in death. Jason was an honorably discharged veteran of the U. S. Navy. His service on the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz instilled in him a sense of discipline and pride that he carried throughout his life. He was a dedicated yard associate at R. P. Lumber in Washington for over 20 years, never missing a single day of work, a testament to his remarkable dedication. Jason was a man of many interests, but he found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid metal detectorist, often found sweeping the local areas, his eyes alight with the thrill of discovery. Every Saturday night, without fail, Jason could be found beside a crackling bonfire, the flames reflecting the kind and friendly spirit that he was known for. Those who knew Jason would describe him as the epitome of kindness, always ready with a helping hand or a friendly smile. His handy nature was a skill and a way of connecting with others, offering his talents wherever needed. Jason's legacy is of unwavering reliability, genuine warmth, and a life of service to his country and work. While there will be no public services, Jason's family will privately celebrate his life. Holzhauer, 67, of Washington, IL a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away at 9:19 am on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at OSF Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on September 28, 1956, in Peoria, IL, to Russell and Norma (Gibson) Williams. Surviving are her children, two daughters, Nicole (Matthew) Buck of Hartford, WI, and Elizabeth (Brooks) Rossman of Overland Park, KS, and one one son, Edward (Jennifer) Holzhauer of Chandler, AZ. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Andrew, Amelia, and Ace; one sister, Helene (Harold) Whitaker of Washington; and longtime partner, Chris Despain of Washington. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Norma Williams. Deborah was a dispatcher at Ameren. She met and cherished many friendships that she made there. She was also an animal advocate who rescued many cats and volunteered to help animals. She also spent much time visiting her beloved children and grandchildren during retirement. She loved nothing more than having everyone home for a holiday, together, celebrating. In addition, she enjoyed spending time swimming in the summer with dear, lifelong friends. She will be missed by many. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life and burial of ashes will occur at a future date. Carla Jane Lamprecht, born April 9, 1955, passed away peacefully with family by her side in her East Peoria home on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Carla is survived by her daughters: Allison Canty, Saint Louis, Missouri and McKenzie Canty, Raleigh, North Carolina; sister, Paula (Tom) Wick; brother Jerry (Terrie) Lamprecht; sister-in-law Susan Lamprecht; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Lyle Lamprecht and Imogene (Piotrowski) Lamprecht; brother Ron Lamprecht; and her beloved pets, specifically Sophia Rose. Carla was born in Peoria, Illinois to Lyle and Imogene Lamprecht and attended Farmington High School. After graduation, Carla enlisted in the Illinois Air National Guard where she was honorably discharged. She soon thereafter began her journey in criminal justice as a dispatcher for Peoria Heights, then began her 17-year career with the City of Peoria as a Police Officer. She was the first female to work in the forensics laboratory before becoming a training officer for new recruits. Training recruits was a great source of pride in Carla's career. Her tenure sadly ended early due to medical retirement. Carla was a proud entrepreneur and owned a cleaning business from which she retired in 2020. During her retirement, Carla moved to North Carolina to enjoy the good weather and escape the snow before returning to Illinois. Carla shined brightest when helping people and animals. Her love for her pets was never-ending. Her happy place was in the sun and sand at the beach with her daughters. Carla also found joy playing with her unofficial grandkids, watching The Golden Girls and crime dramas, and eating holiday shaped Reese's. Carla's pride and joy were her two children, Allison and McKenzie. She was so proud of the successful women Allison and McKenzie have become. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, IL, from 6:00pm-7:30pm. A memorial service shall follow at 7:30 PM, Rev. Carole Hoke and Rev. Lauren Padgett officiating. Carla made the honorable decision for her body to be donated to science, as such, there will be no viewing. "Mrs. Sandra Jean Kissner, 82, of Washington, IL transitioned to her heavenly home at 5:17 am on her birthday, October 30, 2023 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Center. Sandra was born October 30, 1941 in Peoria, Illinois to proud parents, Andrew William and Gladys (Catterall) Lowe. She married the love of her life, Elbert "Bill" Kissner in 1958. To their union four children were born. Bill preceded her in death on December 9, 2002 after over 44 years of marriage. Sandra worked as a cafeteria food server "the Lunch Lady" for Peoria District 150 at Columbia Middle School retiring after many years of service. The school children loved her there. She was a great woman of faith and was a faithful member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Sandra will be especially missed at Thanksgiving gatherings where she was known for cooking the best Thanksgiving dinners including pumpkin pie. Sandra was a talented seamstress and had a green thumb with gardening. Sandra especially loved her grandchildren and even helped raise her late son, Gary's children. Sandra leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving and devoted family which includes her daughter, Pamela (Tim) Board of Washington, IL and two sons, Dennis Kissner of Peoria, IL and Steven (Pam) Kissner of Pekin, IL; 8 grandchildren, Brandi Board, of Peoria, IL, Tim (Samantha) O'Brien of Washington, IL, Jon O'Brien of Peoria, IL, Ashley (Mike) Gavic of Peoria, IL, Cassandra (Thomas) Bell of E. Mr. Larry A. Ashley, 91, of Washington, formerly of Abingdon, died at 9:25 a. m. , Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Washington Senior Living in Washington, Illinois. He was born Sunday, January 10, 1932, in Beardstown, Illinois, the son of Edward and Pauline (Icenogle) Ashley. He married Della Mae Johnson on August 1, 1954, in Abingdon. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2020, after nearly 66 years of marriage. He is survived by a son, Brian Ashley of Galesburg; daughters, Lynn (Keith) Braucht of Bloomington, Stacey (Graig) Bitner of Washington, and Lisa (David) Sheckler of Peoria; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Darrel Ashley; and a sister, Janet Prior. Larry was a 1951 graduate of Abingdon High School. He worked for the former Gale Products Division of Outboard Marine Corporation for 28 1/2 years before retiring. He later managed the Abingdon Video Store. He was a member of Abingdon Christian Church. He enjoyed watching T. V. and reading, but most importantly, spending time with his family. Larry proudly served our country with service in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post 381 in Abingdon. Cremation will be accorded. She was born January 20, 1952, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late Jack and Betty Robb. She attended Pattonville School District and Southeast Missouri State University. She married Kenneth Roy Shrum on May 18, 1974, in Maryland Heights, MO. She attended church faithfully and taught preschool Sunday School for over 40 years. She also homeschooled her four children while building her collection of lighthouses, snowmen, and John Wayne movies. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Roy Shrum, sister Elizabeth Jo (Gary) Myers; three daughters, Jacquelyn (Ryan) Servey of Hendersonville, TN; Jessica (Erik Abatie) Mackle of Pekin, IL; Jennifer Shrum of Brimfield, IL; and one son Joshua Shrum of Washington, IL. Dale "Dog" Cleveland, 73, of Millstadt, IL formerly of Washington Park, IL was born on June 16th, 1950, died on October 25, 2023, at his residence. He passed from extended illness after suffering many strokes and stage 5 kidney disease. Dale retired in 2004 from the Village of Washington Park Fire Dept. after 20-years of dedicated service. He worked part-time at Bel Air Bowl and umpired men's softball at Our Lady of Assumption (OLA). He spent his free time bowling, playing/umpiring softball, and was a horse racing enthusiast. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and fan of sports in general. Of all his activities being the number #1 Pa-Pa was his favorite past-time. He never missed a chance to spend time, spoil, or attend one of his grandkid's activities and they could do no wrong in his eyes. In addition to Dales other accolades, he rescued several individuals from burning buildings, delivered a baby, and was a Scout Master to a troop of young boys, many of which were underprivileged. He accepted Christ as a young man at Rosemont Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents Juanita and Virgil Cleveland, his brothers and sisters-in-law Charles, David (Pattie), and Timothy Cleveland, and his nephew Jim Huetsch.
