Jackie Buchanan, 44, of Connersville was called home September 30, 2023 of an apparent suicide. Family would like to spread awareness about suicide. There is help and you are not alone. He was born in Bakerfield, California on June 24, 1979 and came to Connersville in 2019 to be with his sister. Jackie loved music from the 80's and 90's, and was a biker at heart. He was a big joker and enjoyed making people laugh. He overcame many struggles in his life and gave his heart to God. Survivors include his sister, Diana (Joe) Brooks of Connersville; nephews Joseph and Keionteh "Baby Tay Tay"; two brothers, John and Lawrence; and all of his family and friends that loved him. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Lisa Ann Tarvin, 64, of Connersville passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 3, 2023 while visiting her family in Livingston, Texas. She was born April 7, 1959 in Cherry Point, North Carolina, one of three children of Donald and Jacqueline Fay Ford and was a graduate of Caroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. On November 29, 1986, Lisa was married in the St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brookville, Indiana to Troy Richard Tavin of Brookville. Mr. Tarvin survives. Lisa was an entrepreneur in her own right, helping her husband and brother-in-law start up and run many companies in the Connersville area. She was the bookkeeper and in charge of running the day-to-day operations in many of these companies. Later in life she became a credit analysis for Roots-Blower in Connersville and then at Osborn Manufacturing in Richmond. Lisa finished her career working as a legal assistant in the tax lien department of the Law Offices of Wayne Greeson until she retired in mid-2023 for health reasons. She was actively involved in the community sitting on the board of Community Sharing Foundation for several years, as treasurer for Peace Lutheran Church, and volunteering with many organizations that her children were involved in from sports to 4-H. Her greatest love and enjoyment in her early years was raising her children, Richard and Courtney. As her children grew up, her focus turned to her grandchildren helping her son with R. J. and planning trips to Paoli to see Cash and Cooper. She was an avid deer hunter even holding a state record for several years for the largest typical buck harvested by a woman. She loved spending time on the family pontoon boat at Brookville Lake (her happy place), attending her grandchildren's sporting events, and watching the Indianapolis Colts. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Troy Tarvin; two children, Richard "Rick" Tarvin of Connersville and Courtney (Caleb) Andry of Paoli, Indiana; three grandchildren, R. J Tarvin, Cash Andry, and Cooper Andry; her mother, Jacqueline Ford of Livingston, Texas; two brothers, Donald Ford of Albany, California, Stephen (Donna) Ford of Conroe, Texas; a brother-in-law, Greg (Susie) Tarvin of Corbin, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Marty (Earl) Stenger of Brookville, Indiana, and Bridget Tarvin of Connersville; she is blessed with a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lisa is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Rosie Tarvin; a brother-in-law, Tom Tarvin; an uncle, Bill Fay; paternal and maternal grandparents; and her father, Donald Ford. Family and friends may visit from 5:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. George Donald Hendrickson passed away peacefully on 30 November 2023, at the age of 100, in Great Falls, Montana. Known to many as 'Don' or 'Pat' (on account of his St. Patrick's Day birthday), he was born in Connersville to Edgar and Mildred (nee Sheard) Hendrickson on 17 March 1923 as the third of what would eventually be 10 children. George graduated from Connersville High School in 1941, and except for 7 years in the Navy, spent his entire life in Connersville prior to moving to Great Falls, Montana in 2021 to be with his daughter Patricia and son-in-law William Laux. George was married to Christine Hendrickson (formerly Mullins), and was first married to Garnet (nee Cooley) Hendrickson. A veteran of the Second World War, George enlisted in the Navy in May 1942 and served as a Radioman aboard troop transports. He participated in the invasions of North Africa and Sicily as well as the island-hopping campaign in the Pacific, earning multiple campaign medals in both theaters and a Combat Action Ribbon. He served again briefly stateside during the Korean War before resuming his job at automotive parts-manufacturer McQuay-Norris, where he ultimately worked 30 years. George married Garnet on his birthday (17 March) in 1950 and they had one child together, Patricia, in 1951, and a step-son, Ron Johnson. George retired from McQuay-Norris as a foreman in 1980. Following his retirement, he particularly enjoyed road trips to see the American west with his wife Garnet, gardening, and an active social life with the many friends he has had over the years around Connersville. He attended Grand Avenue Methodist Church, and was active in AMVETS, VFW, the American Legion, and the local Moose and Eagle. His loving and jovial nature was enjoyed by a large family of multiple generations. George is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Bill) Laux; one grandson, Scott (Lisa) Laux; two great-grandchildren, including one named after him; one sister, Betty Harris; three brothers, Thomas (Nancy), Richard, and Charles 'Bud' (Lorna) Hendrickson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, William, Ralph, Robert, Jack, and Jim Hendrickson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 11 December, at the Miller, Moster, and Robbins Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 11:00am - 1:00 p. m. , with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p. m. and burial with military honors following at Dale Cemetery.Show more

Former Connersville resident, Douglas Kent Wissler was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Doug left this earth for his heavenly home on Monday, November 27, 2023, after a very long fight with cancer. Doug was born, November 28, 1963, to his mother Jennie Wissler and father Dennis Wissler. He graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1982 and Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana with the class of 1991. Doug worked for twenty-nine years at State Farm Insurance in Bloomington, Illinois in accounting and finance. Survivors include his mother, Jennie Wissler of Peru, Indiana; his father: Dennis (Rosa)Wissler of Cambridge City; His wonderful wife of 32 years, Sharon Wissler of Bloomington, Illinois. Children: Nathan and Sarah Bates of Fairland, Indiana; Kyle and Brittany Wissler of St. Louis, Missouri and Tyler Wissler of Dallas, Texas and brother: Chad Wissler and Hannah of Cambridge City, Indiana. Grandchildren: Rylend and Landon Bates, Archer Wissler, mother-in-law: Mary Smith, sister-in-law: Wanda F. Boughner, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends that loved him dearly. Doug is preceded in death by his: Maternal grandparents: Bert and Dorothy Waddell, Paternal grandparents: Dwight and Gertie Wissler, and Paternal grandmother: Dorothy Wissler. Terry Mahlon Flannery, 61, a lifelong Fayette County resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at his home in rural Fayette County. One of eight children of William Hargis and Frances Elizabeth VanWinkle Flannery, Terry was born November 27, 1961 in Fayette County and graduated from Connersville High School in 1980. Terry was employed at Visteon for 24 years until its closing and then worked at Keihin in Greenfield for many years. Terry was very proud to have been a welder at various places including several siloes in Fayette County. In his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking, coon hunting, watching TV, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and family man. Survivors include two children, Miquela (Brad) Snyder and Mahlon (Jennifer) Flannery all of Connersville; four grandchildren, Jackson Snyder, Tucker Snyder, Zooey Flannery, and Brayden Flannery; two step-grandchildren, Daykota Gipson and Izzabelle Beaty; seven siblings, Sherry (Bob) Miller of Colorado, Sandy (Dale) Mathews of Milroy, Chrystal Morton of Glenwood, Roxanne Hinchman of Connersville, William Flannery, Jr. of Milroy, Janice (John) Matney of Glenwood, and Eugena Flannery of Brownsville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Terry was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a. m. until the time of service at 1:00 p. m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.
