Brandon Lee Scott1983-2024Brandon Lee Scott went on to his heavenly home Sunday, February 11th, 2024.Brandon was born on January 27, 1983 and was raised in Lewis County, KY by the best mother that anyone could ever ask for, Ruth Platt (Bill Platt). He was a perfect, easy going baby that never cried. As her only child, she was able to raise him into the man he was. She taught him to love, to give, and to be the comedian he was. He graduated from Lewis County High School where he played football, weight lifted, and loved having girlfriends. Unfortunately, all the girls that loved him and tried getting with him lost him to me, the summer of 2000. We met at Morehead State University at a program called Upward Bound. July 4th of that year we were at a baseball game in Lexington. During the firework show we shared our first kiss and that’s when we knew we were each others soul mates. Finally, on September 14, 2002, Brandon married me, Sarah Fryer. And we had been together ever since. Our love for one another was legendary. Him being the only child and I having my three sisters and brother in laws, they became the siblings he always wanted. Rachel and David Shelton, Mary Ann and Doug Smith, along with Ruthie and Robert Rice. They actually liked Brandon more than they liked me! My family turned Brandon into Uncle B of 11 nieces and nephews. We watched these children grow into adults. They were our children before we had any of our own. They taught us how to be parents. Jeffrey, Alisha, Joshua, Brandon, Katlyn, Abigal, Benjamin, Nathan, Jacob, Kayla, Megan. Eventually, Brandon became a father to his very own daughters, Allison and Kaylee. They were his entire world. He taught them everything about video games, movies, and the greatest music from the 90’s/early 2000’s. He would give them outfit advice, help them to convince me to let them go places and do stuff, he would make fun meals for them and turn any situation into a game. He definitely loved telling those Dad jokes. Brandon provided for his family by working at the Cannonsburg Walmart for 5 years and lastly at NeuroRestorative, a brain injury rehab, for over 10 years. To know Brandon was to know love, happiness, and laughter. He was the life of the party and never met a stranger. Brandon hated funerals and anything sad.His request was to have a party instead. So this Saturday, February 17th, at Grassland Community Church gymnasium between 1-5 PM, we will come together and celebrate the great man that he was.
