Jack Senter McGrath, 31, passed away on October 1, 2023, in Olathe, Kansas. He was born on July 15, 1992, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Timothy Robert McGrath and Lindy Senter Cross. Jack was a loving father to his son, Jaxon Robert McGrath (mother-Allison Russell), and had an incredible bond with his twin sister, Grace Kennedy McGrath, and brother, Maxwell Lane McGrath. During his life, Jack attended Blue River Elementary School, Lakewood Middle School, Blue Valley West High School, The University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas and then the Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, where he received his Master's Degree. Jack was known for his kind and loving nature. He had an incredible sense of humor and was always able to make others laugh. His laugh was infectious! He possessed a remarkable intelligence and had a deep passion for music. Jack was dedicated to his craft as a music producer and strived to be the best. He loved unconditionally and cherished his son, Jaxon, above all else. Jack had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed various hobbies. He found joy in music production, snowboarding, golfing, and fishing. He truly enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family. These activities allowed him to express his creativity and connect with those around him. Jack had an intense love for the people he knew and he never met a stranger. Jack touched so many lives from all walks of life throughout his 31 years. He will be greatly missed by so many. Jack is survived by his son, Jaxon Robert McGrath (mother-Allison Russell), Topeka, KS; parents, Timothy Robert McGrath (Megan), Overland Park, KS and Lindy Senter Cross (Forbes), Kansas City, MO; siblings, twin sister, Grace Kennedy McGrath, Overland Park, KS, and brother, Maxwell Lane McGrath, Los Angeles, CA; grandparents, Terrance R. McGrath, Reno, NV, Nancy A. Fowler (Larry), Tucson, AZ, Margaret Senter Pratt, Prairie Village, KS; and many loving aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins Jack was preceded in death by his grandfather, John R. "Jack" Senter. Henry "Hank" Louis Ribbing, 82, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on December 8, 2023. He was born on March 14, 1941 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Victor and Rosalie Ribbing. Hank is survived by his wife Judy Stonecipher Ribbing of 61 years of marriage, daughter Kelly Bohlken, son Todd Ribbing, grandchildren Faith and her husband Cameron Nutt and Alex Bohlken, his brothers Don Ribbing, Mike Ribbing, and Tim Ribbing. Walter Linder

Age - 97

Walter Marcellus Linder died on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the age of 97 at Aberdeen Village in Olathe, Kansas. Walt was born on January 17, 1926, on the family farm in Axtell, Nebraska, the son of Walter Nathaniel and Myrtle Alice (Anderson) Linder. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church. Walt graduated from Axtell High School in 1943. Walt received an Associate of Arts Degree from Luther College in Wahoo, Nebraska before joining the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was stationed state-side as an instructor at the U. S. Army Engineer School in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, teaching sheet metal classes. After his time in the Army, Walt returned to Nebraska to pursue an engineering degree at the University of Nebraska receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1957. He received his Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1960 at the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied under Hans Einstein – Albert Einstein’s son. He met his wife of 65 years, Jeannine Fischer, on a blind date at a dance at Peony Park in Omaha, Nebraska. They were married a year later on August 9, 1958, in Omaha, and returned to California where Walt completed his masters degree. Walt and Jeannine returned to Omaha in 1960 to raise their two children – a son followed by a daughter. Walt spent his career as a hydraulic engineer with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers – Omaha and Kansas City Districts. He moved his family to the Kansas City area in 1973 and retired as the Chief of the Hydrologic Engineering Branch in 1992. Career highlights included living in the Netherlands for a year where he received a diploma in 1966 after participating in an International Course in Hydraulic Engineering. He also worked in the Democratic Republic of Sudan to assist with improving navigation on the White Nile River and served as a consultant for flood control planning for the city of Taipei, Taiwan. A final career highlight was the Brush Creek flood control project in the Plaza area of Kansas City. After retirement, Walt consulted for several engineering firms in the Kansas City area. A man of deep faith, Walt was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Prairie Village, Kansas, where he served as Vice President of the Church Council and member of the property committee. He later was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Kansas. A frequent "choir widow," he was always willing to usher and assist where needed in the life of his church. He spent many Thursdays in his retirement years at the Hollis Renewal Center assisting with various improvement projects. Walt was active in the Boy Scouts of America serving as a Cub Scout Pack Leader, Assistant Scout Master, and Troop Committee Chairman. He participated in weekend campouts well into his 70s earning various colored beads depending upon the weather. He loved to garden and aways had a yard full of beautiful flowers, trees, and shrubs as well as a greenhouse full of new plants. Walt was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Jeannine, of the home; son David Linder and his wife Rhonda Boger-Linder of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter Dianne Honomichl and her husband Kevin of De Soto, Kansas; granddaughter Hannah Mueting and her husband James of Morrison, Colorado; grandson Zach Linder and his wife Bethany of Fort Lupton, Colorado; grandson Mikolas Honomichl of Manhattan, Kansas; and great-grandson Whitt Mueting of Morrison, Colorado (Walt was overjoyed to meet this new great-grandson Father’s Day weekend this past June). A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Kansas 66212. The service will be preceded by a visitation at 10:00 am. "Clyde Leroy McWilliams Sr, 77, of Wellsville, Kansas passed away Tuesday November 28th, 2023, in Olathe, Kansas. Clyde was born December 20th, 1945, Clyde Edward and Martha May in Kansas City, Missouri. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a daughter, a grandson, great-grandchild, and two wives. He is survived by his wife Carol; two daughters- Nettie Brewer, and Kathy McNeill (Ralph Taylor) from Ottawa, Kansas; one son- Clyde McWilliams Jr from Ottawa, KS; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister Lucy Hewitt from Wellsville, KS; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other loving family and friends. Matt Bjorgo 67, passed away at Menorah Hospital on November 27 due to complications of brain surgery, His loving wife of 39 years and his two beautiful daughters, and his sister Kathy, were by his side. Matt was born to Gene and Angie Bjorgo on March 11, 1956, and grew up in Olathe with his three siblings Mike, Jimmy, and Kathy. Matt graduated from Olathe high school in 1974. He loved his hometown. He married Sheryl Green in 1984 and had two beautiful daughters Ashley and Lindsey, and raised them in Gardner Kansas. He leaves behind his wife Sheryl, daughter Lindsey, granddaughter Eliana of the home, daughter Ashley (Josh), grandsons Matthew and Henry of Garnett, his brothers Mike (Cathy), Jim (Lisa), his sister Kathy, his brother-in-law David Green, in-laws Mike Green(Deb), Roy and Dixie Green, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Geneva Hague, a loving and selfless woman who dedicated her life to family and the care of others, passed away peacefully on November 30th, 2023 in Olathe, Kansas. She was born on July 2nd, 1929 in Halfrock, Missouri. Geneva's life was filled with compassion, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. Geneva's most fulfilling role was that of a stay-at-home mother. She poured her heart and soul into raising not only her three biological children but also six adopted children. Her nurturing spirit knew no bounds as she opened her home to elderly individuals in need of care. Geneva went above and beyond, providing comfort and love to those who needed it most. Family meant everything to Geneva. The joy and happiness she found in the presence of her loved ones were immeasurable. Her devotion to her family knew no bounds; she would do anything for them without hesitation. Geneva's legacy will forever be one of unconditional love, generosity, and support. Her warm and giving nature extended beyond her immediate family. Geneva had a heart that overflowed with compassion for anyone in need. She never turned away from someone seeking assistance; instead, she approached every situation with empathy and kindness. Her willingness to go above and beyond for others touched the lives of many. Geneva's strong work ethic was an inspiration to all who knew her. She approached every task with dedication and determination, making sure that nothing was left unfinished or less than perfect. There was no challenge too great for Geneva; she faced each obstacle head-on with unwavering resolve. Outside of her family commitments, Geneva found great solace in her faith community at Victory Baptist Church. She devoted much of her time and energy to the church, where she found comfort, support, and a deep sense of belonging. Her involvement in various church activities brought her immense joy and fulfillment. One of Geneva's proudest accomplishments was undoubtedly raising her family. She instilled in her children the values of love, respect, and kindness. Her unwavering dedication to their well-being and happiness will forever be remembered and cherished. Geneva is survived by her loving children: Nancy Khatchadourian (Wadie-husband), Marilyn Cave (Bob-husband deceased), Tim Hague (Sheryl-wife), David Hague, Titus Hague, Daniel Hague (Paula-wife), Rebekah Crawford, and James Hague (Mary-wife). Her husband-Max, daughter-Mary Louise and four sisters preceded her in death. Geneva Hague's memory will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched with her love and selflessness. Sue Perry Hutcheson, 82, of Olathe, Kansas, was welcomed into Heaven on Friday, November 24, 2023. She was born on November 22, 1941, in Clarinda, Iowa, to Raymond and Evelyn Perry. Affectionately called "Suzi," she spent her childhood on the family farm and went to a one-room country school through eighth grade. After graduating from Clarinda High School, she attended Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. She graduated with a B. A. in economics and moved to Seattle, Washington, to take a job with the Internal Revenue Service. Although Sue and her future husband, Tom Hutcheson, met during college, their acquaintance didn't develop into romance until their paths crossed again in Seattle. Following a long-distance relationship that spanned the miles between Sue's home in Washington and Tom's duty station on a U. S. Navy base in California, they were married on June 1, 1968, in Clarinda. Fifteen days later, Tom left on a six-month deployment, beginning Sue's life as a naval officer's spouse. For the next 26 years, she was a proud, capable partner in his military career. Sue and Tom raised their three children -- Christi, Karen, and Jim - while spending tours of duty in Washington, California, Virginia, Hawaii, and Germany. Sue was a loving, attentive mother who was always ready to sew homemade Halloween costumes, help with school projects, and give rides to and from play rehearsal or soccer practice. She also worked for H&R Block as a seasonal tax preparer for many years. A grandmother of boundless energy and enthusiasm, Sue never tired of reading a favorite story, playing dress-up, planning a fun outing, or making a batch of her special whole wheat pancakes. So many happy memories were made at Grandma's house. She was a constant, doting presence in her grandchildren's lives and could be counted on to attend every spelling bee, play performance, choir concert, and award ceremony. Sue was a woman of keen intellect, gentle humor, and fierce resilience. She loved to travel and visited 29 countries during her lifetime, including Cyprus, Australia, China, and Norway. She loved the beauty of trees, flowers, birds, and butterflies and made a special effort to share this appreciation with her grandchildren. She loved being part of a church community, especially singing in choir, playing handbells, volunteering in children's ministry, and forming friendships in small groups and Bible studies. She loved her family unconditionally and was devoted to caring for them. Above all else, Sue loved God and trusted His love and faithfulness, even when faced with disappointments and challenges. Her godly spirit and kind heart will be greatly missed by her many friends and family members. Sue is survived by her husband Tom; her children Christi Hutcheson, Karen Montemayor and husband Jim, and Jim Hutcheson; her grandchildren Rachel, Luke, and Nate Montemayor; her sisters Phyllis (Chuck) Landon, Marcia Summers, and Nancy (Roger) Rupp; her brothers Duane (Ana) Perry and Charley (Ann) Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law Rev. Thomas and Marjorie Hutcheson; her brother-in-law Charles Summers; and her sisters-in-law Carlene Hutcheson and Liz Hutcheson. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in the Wesley Covenant Chapel at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS, 66224. Ruth Viola Vierra, 82, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in Olathe, Kansas. Services will be held at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, with Reverend Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow from 8:30 AM until 8:30 PM, Friday, December 1, 2023. The family will be receiving visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Ruth was born on Tuesday, July 8, 1941 in Alvord, TX, to J. W. and Aline (Nunn) Sanford. She attended Bray High School and lived in the Marlow area all her life. Ruth married Vernon Kimbrough in Marlow on August 24, 1957. In the spring of 1965, Ruth became a Christian and dedicated her life to Jesus, and this remained her most important decision. She married Gary Vierra in Texas on April 12, 1991. Ruth worked at Halliburton over 25 years. Ruth loved to quilt and to cook for her family and friends. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church West in Duncan and enjoyed leading a ladies' Sunday School class there. Above all else, Ruth loved Jesus and she modeled her Savior's servant heart. Survivors include son Brett Kimbrough of Shawnee, KS, son Kris Kimbrough and wife, Amy, of Sunnyvale, CA, and son Aaron Kimbrough and wife, Cindy, of Cave Springs, AR; daughter, Holly Searls and husband, Jacob, of Olathe, KS; stepdaughter, Renee Salamone and husband, Joe, of Marlow; stepson, Gary Vierra of Washington State; grandchildren, Alex Kimbrough, Jon Kimbrough, Emma Kimbrough, Ethan Searls, Grace Searls, Hayley Searls, Addison Searls, and Brian Chennault; two brothers, Dwight Sanford and wife, Evanita, of Duncan, and Timmie Sanford and wife, Cheryl, of Marlow; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husbands. Pallbearers will be Alex Kimbrough, Jon Kimbrough, Ethan Searls, Kris Kimbrough, Brett Kimbrough, and Aaron Kimbrough.
