Jack Leger, Jr. was born on February 15, 1937 to the late Jacques Leger, Jr. and the former Rose Richard. He was born in Sunset but lived in Lafayette for most of his life. Jack worked for Pepsi Bottling Co. in Lafayette and Unlimited Supply Co. as a hot shot driver. Jack was such an easy-going spirit and always had a smile on his face. He was such a great husband and father. It takes a good man to marry a woman with six kids. Pop, as he was affectionately called, never complained. He raised all of the children equally and was always there for them, ready to lend a helping hand. He loved to listen to his old Rock-N-Roll music and BBQ; there were many happy family gatherings. Survivors include eight children, Martha Beth Goodson of Carencro, Brad Phillips (Susan) of Carencro, A. J. Primeaux of Lafayette, Tom Primeaux (Sylvia) of Lafayette, Toby Primeaux (Jamie) of Carencro, Eva Primeaux Walden of Lafayette, Jaqueline Lain (Raymond) of Lafayette, Terry Lynn Phillips of Seven Points, TX; one sister-in-law, Kay Martin of Lafayette; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and one sister, Kay Martin of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene who passed away only one month prior; one grandson, Chris McGee; his mother, Rose Martin; his father, Jack Leger, Sr. ; and a son-in-law, Kirt Goodson. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 6:00 p. m. Tuesday and will be extended after the service until 8:00 p. m. Tuesday. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Hope Hospice, especially Susan Rodriguez, Christy Couvllier, RN Melody, and CNA Angela and Sylvia Eaton.
