Betty Jean Gillogly, 79 of Airway Heights, WA passed away Saturday July 15, 2023 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane WA. She was born September 9, 1943 inSpokane WA to John and Virginia (Block) Lorenz. She lived in Chattaroy and attended school there until meeting the love of her life Lyle Gillogly. They were married in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on January 7, 1958. Betty worked at Jensen Byrd and went on as a bookkeeper for many years at Eastern Washington University from where she retired. She enjoyed reading, traveling, snow skiing and cooking for family gatherings. She was an owner of 2 horses and even traveled and showed them. She also had a passion for traveling through the states alongside her husband Lyle. She loved wildlife and national parks. She will be deeply missed by family and friends and always be remembered for her caring phone calls and warm heart. She was survived by Nephews: John Campisi and Dayvid Gillogly. , Nieces: Sue Welsh and Kathi Tauer, Great Nephews: Lukas, Logan and Lincoln Welsh, Shawn Gillogly and Adrian Tauer. , Great Nieces: Darian Campisi, Jadyn Lord and Leah Welsh. Along with other great great nephews and nieces and God children Shane, Shawn, and Trevor Thur. She was preceded in death by Lyle Gillogly her love and sole mate of over 56 years! We are sad to announce the passing of James L. McGuire, of Airway Heights Wa. He died at the age of 79, on October 26th* Jim joined the United Stated Marine Corps at the young age of 17 where he met and married the love of his life Sharon. Jim was a devoted husband of 61 years, a father of 4, a beloved grandfather and great grandfather to many. Jim loved woodworking, fishing, but was most passionate about his service to our Lord Jesus Christ, his family, and helping others. Jim lived a life of service and sacrifice, he served 22 yrs, to include one tour in Vietnam, which he was awarded the Purple Heart, and numerous deployments overseas. He retired as a Master Sergeant U. S. M. C. After retirement Jim entered the ministry where he led congregations for 30 plus years in Milan, WA, Kellog, ID, Newport, WA, and Airway Heights, WA. Pastor Jim could always be counted on to help an individual or family in need without judgment and often from his own resources. His caring attitude also made him beloved in the Newport and Cheney school districts as "Big Jim" the bus driver. Always willing to take on the most challenging of routes, his stories of traveling iced over canyon roads while keeping kids safe are legendary. He served, and sacrificed for his country, his church congregation's the students he transported to and from school, and most importantly his family. He was a constant source of wisdom and guidance, which always hit the mark, and leaned on the word of God as a guidepost in all situations big and small. Jim is survived by his brothers and sisters, his wife Sharon, his son Mike & Joanne, son David, daughter Michele & Dave, and daughter Jenny & Brad, his grandchildren Larissa, Chelsea, Michael, Derek, Brittany, Sharon, Jessica, Miranda, Connor and Isaac, as well as numerous great grandchildren, and beloved pets Buster and Sadie. He was preceded in death by his parents James McGuire and Margaret Evans as well as his granddaughters Destiny, Katty and great granddaughter Cherish. Viewing will be Monday, November 7th from 2pm to 6pm at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N Government Way, Spokane. His funeral will be Tuesday the 8th at 10:30am at the Windsor Baptist Church, 4404 W Hallett Road, Spokane.
