Israel Serrano Jr 41 years old of 32 Linden ave passed away on Oct 3, 2023 due to a long-term illness. He was born on June 13, 1982 to parents Julia Morales and Roberto Castellano in Jamestown NY. Israel will be remembered by his sister Castellano, Brothers Roberto Jr. Castellano, Luis Anthony Guadalupe, Luis Leonardo Guadalupe and Raymond Guadalupe, niece Ajiah Muoio, Sapphire Rugg and nephews Gamaliel Martir, Alexander Martir and Damien McLawhorn and many other family members. He was predeceased by Virginio Morales (uncle), Abraham JR Sanchez(cousin) and Grandmother Antonia Agosto. Israel enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He spent some time working with youth in Youngsville PA and the YMCA in Jamestown. He loved sharing his life with others and "chillen with the ones closest to him". He was the funniest, caring whole-hearted person you could ever meet. He loved unconditionally. He enjoyed listening to music, dancing and was an animal lover. He will always be remembered as the handsome caring young man he was. Rev. Violet A. Davidson, 74, of 970 Big Tree Sugar Grove Rd. passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023 at UPMC Hamot. She was born April 7, 1949 in Lottsville, Pa. , a daughter of the late Robert L. and Nancy J. Sales Neal. A 1967 graduate of Southwestern Central School, Vi earned her Associate in Applied Science in Human Services at Jamestown Community College, Bachelor of Science in Community and Religious Studies from Empire State College, and Master of Divinity degree from United Theological Seminary. She had served as Residential Services Coordinator for The Salvation Army Domestic Violence / Rape Crisis Program before being the Christian Education Director and Visitation Assistant at Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church where she held many and various positions in volunteer ministry. Vi then served as Pastor of Kennedy First United Methodist Church from 2001 to 2005 before serving as Pastor of Lakewood United Methodist Church from 2005 until her retirement. She was presently a member of Bemus Point United Methodist Church. Vi held many additional volunteer positions specifically serving youth, including Reachout Ministries Board Member and treasurer, as well as Director and Children's Specialist of Royal Family Kids Camp. Always kind, giving and supportive, her family and faith were most important to her. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Randall H. Davidson; daughters, Kimberly (Peyton) McVinney and Jessica (Tom) Dayton; grandchildren, Brooke Angelo, Hunter McVinney, Drew McVinney, and Mason McVinney; and a sister, Betty Syper and brother, Fred Rice. The funeral will be held on Sunday, Dec. 3rd in the Lind Funeral Home, led by Pastor Tom Holland of Bemus Point United Methodist Church. Miriam Albizu Rodriguez, age 89, of Jamestown, NY, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Hamot Medical Center surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Born on May 6, 1934, in Bo. Guayavel, a neighborhood within Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, was the daughter of the late Trinidad Perez Santiago and Jose Ramon Albizu. Miriam relocated to Jamestown from Puerto Rico after marrying Nicholas Rodriguez on October 27, 1956. Together they built a life and raised their five children. Miriam's culinary talents, especially her Spanish rice, were adored by her family and guests. She was also known for her love of baking and gardening, spending countless hours in her solarium nurturing her plants. A dedicated member of St John's Altar & Rosary Society, Miriam's memory will be cherished by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children Nicholas (Julie) Rodriguez, Jr. , Evelyn (Myles) Lyons, Jr. , Arlene (Albert) Kennedy, Edwin (partner Carolina Delahoy) Rodriguez, Sr. , and Doris (Ronald) Pappalardo, all of Jamestown. Grandchildren include Nichole (Jason) Scott, Dominick (Sarah) Rodriguez, Diane (Robert) Hedstrom of Sweden, Nicholas and Myles Lyons, III, Jennifer (Quinton) Clark, Sr. , Lisa Kennedy, Edwin Rodriguez, Jr. , and Joshua and John Schauman. She also leaves behind 16 Great-Grandchildren and three Great-Great-Grandchildren. Miriam is survived by her half-sister Evelyn Ojeda of New York City, and several cousins in Puerto Rico. Miriam is preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Rodriguez, Sr. , her stepmother Victoria Albizu, and her parents Trinidad and Jose Ramon Albizu. A visitation will be held from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Riccardi's Hubert Funeral Home in Jamestown. The funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2023 10 AM at Saint John's Church, 270 Newton Avenue in Jamestown. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Jamestown, NY. Anne D. Crooks Kohl Lloyd, 89, of Jamestown, N. Y. formally resided in Salamanca, N. Y. , Ashville, N. Y. and Maple Springs, N. Y. peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. A lifelong area resident, she was born October 4, 1934, in Town of Salamanca, New York, the daughter of Richard H. Crooks and Myra Sutton Crooks. In earlier years before she retired she was employed by Fairbank Farms, J. C. Penney, Chautauqua Opportunities, YWCA, Shirley Bergman Real Estate and Century 21 Real Estate. She was a Family Development Specialist and worked as an advocate for at risk families, domestic violence victims and displaced homemakers. She assisted in Joint Neighborhood Project and was a Realtor, Chaplain and Eucharistic Minister. She was a past member of the Maple Springs Association and New York State Association of Realtors, Inc. Anne was an amazing woman to everyone who came in touch with her throughout her life time while making her journey helping people. As the oldest of six children, she was often considered the matriarch backbone of the family. She was the one family member who everyone often sought out for her kindness, wisdom and guidance. She was a strong woman that has overcome many obstacles and tragedy during her life time. She was devoted to her family and will be fondly remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She dedicated her life to raising five children in a blended family, including two children with Cystic Fibrosis. She aided in organizing Cystic Fibrosis Association of Chautauqua County with her second husband James prior to the Association being incorporated into the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation WNY Chapter. Anne assisted in coordinating past fundraising, assisted families with financial help, emotional support, transportation to and from Cystic Fibrosis Centers and educator on Cystic Fibrosis. Anne loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a dog lover. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, gardening, traveling, camping, needle point, sewing, baking, crafts, nickel and dime slot machines and especially family gatherings. Surviving are three children: David Kohl of Jamestown, N. Y. , Debra (Thomas) Cobb of Travelers Rest, S. C. , Valerie Dow of Lakewood, N. Y. ; three grandchildren: David J. (Megan) Kohl, Vanessa (Ryan) Colburn and Emma Dow; two great grandchildren: Evelyn Kohl and Wyatt Kohl; two sisters: Barbara (Frank) Clark of Great Valley, N. Y. and Juanita (Terry) Yonker of Salamanca, N. Y. ; brother: Richard (Virginia) Crooks of Woodbury, Tennessee, several nieces, nephews, cousins and her close sister-in-law Delores Shellhouse of Jamestown, N. Y. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Norman Kohl (1968); her second husband James Lloyd (1995); two daughters Monica Lloyd MacDonald and Theresa Lloyd and two sisters Myra Carnes and Geraldine Byroads. "Jack LaVerne McCall, Sr, Age 94, of Jamestown, NY passed away on November 10, 2023 at the Fox Run Orchard Park retirement community center. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 17th at 4:00pm at Fox Run, 1 Fox Run Lane, Orchard Park. On Saturday November 18th, the Sunset Hill Chapel at Sunset Hill Cemetery, in Lakewood, NY will be open for visitations with the family from 3:00 to 4:00pm to pay your respects. Military burial services are to follow immediately after the visitation period. Jack was born August 11th, 1929 in Jamestown New York to Nellie (Matson) McCall and Cecil Leroy McCall. Jack was a graduate of Jamestown High School the Class of 1947. Jack worked at the Jenkins Dairy Farm prior to his enlistment into the Navy in April 1948. Jack completed his basic training at the Great Lakes Training Station. Jack had earned the rank of Second Class Petty Officer, and Flag Staff Enginemen EN3 under the Rear Admiral for the USS St Paul, a Heavy Cruiser and flag ship for the Cruiser Division One in the pacific til 1952. He also served one year on the Quajaline Islands. Jack was an employee for the Jamestown Telephone company for over 38 years before his retirement. Jack is preceded in death by his parents Nellie \u0026amp; Cecil McCall, his brother Duane McCall and wife Diane, and his first wife Dorothy (Johnson) McCall. Carol Ann Larson, 83, formerly of 115 Elizabeth St. in Lakewood, passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville, NY. She had most recently resided with her daughter in Amherst. She was the widow of Roy B. Larson, whom she married Nov. 23, 1979 and who died Aug. 8, 2017. Carol Ann was born April 13, 1940 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of the late Earl L. and Mary Stormer Smith, and was a 1958 graduate of Southwestern Central School. She had worked with her late husband in their photography business, 'Images Studio' in Lakewood for many years. A member of Ashville United Methodist Church, she also belonged to the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and Celoron American Legion. Carol Ann was an avid sewer and enjoyed participating in craft shows, she displaying her crafts and her husband his woodworking. She looked forward to Celoron Senior Citizen day trips, playing "Skip-Bo" with her friends, going to the Casino, and sharing her love with her cats. Surviving is her daughter, Judy (Mark) Casselman of Amherst; two grandchildren, Shawn (Michelle) Wahl of Tonawanda and Stephanie (Cal) Wasik of Cambria, NY; three great-grandchildren, Brian Preston, Landon Wahl, and Chloe Wasik; her brother, Ronald (Carolyn) Smith of Busti; and her cats, Bonzo and Betsy. Larry W. "Butch" Schupp, 73, of Jamestown, formerly of Rochester, PA, died at home on Friday, November 17, 2023 due to complications of congestive heart failure. He was born February 20, 1950 in Kittanning, PA, a son of the late William and Esther Minich Schupp. Upon graduating from Rochester High School, Butch joined the US Army and actively served his country for three years. He spent over nine consecutive months in Vietnam as a paratrooper, earning several medals. He was then employed by Jamestown Roofing as a laborer, and then as a furniture craftsman at several area factories before his condition forced him into an early retirement. Butch enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking rides to Barcelona Beach with his wife of 42 years, Patricia. His favorite pastime was playing Bingo with his friends. In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by two older brothers, Robert and Kenneth Schupp; and a great-grandson, Karter. He leaves behind his wife, Pat; brother, Edward of Rochester, PA; sisters-in-law, Donna Schupp, Donna Matthews, and Becky Roberson; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Matthews. Butch is also survived by two sons: Joshua (Terri) Schupp of Mayville and their children, Zachary, Alex (Amanda), Jenavin, Braydyn, and Corinne, and Benjamin (Ryanne) Schupp of West Seneca and their children, Cayden and Mason; two daughters: Dana (Jeff) Dilley of Cranberry Twp, PA and their children, Justin and Farron, and Paula (Shane Hapach) Fazenbaker of Ohioville, PA and their children, Nicole, Brandon, and Ashley; as well as three great-grandchildren. Dorothy Ludwiczak, 92, formerly of 231 McDaniel Avenue, died Thursday November 16, 2023, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born April 5, 1931, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pilat Ludwiczak. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Chautauqua Hardware as an office worker. She earlier had worked for Cresent Tool. Dorothy was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters. She always enjoyed luncheons with the ladies from Chautauqua Hardware, loved time spent with family, especially during the holidays and took great pride in the home she shared with her sisters for many, many years. Surviving are eight nieces and nephews JoAnn Bardo, Kathy Burns, Jeff Ludwiczak, Craig Ludwiczak, Mark Ludwiczak, Linda Sena, Rosemary Schweitzer and Nancy Tully; ten great nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters Helen Ludwiczak, Alice Ludwiczak, and Mary Skrypek and three brothers Edward, John "Wally" and Raymond Ludwiczak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday in Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
