Irvin was a faithful member of New Zion Baptist Church, he was 75, a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Visitation on Friday, May 12, 2023, at New Zion Baptist Church, 2319 Third St. , New Orleans, LA 70113, from 8:00am to religious services at 10:00am. Dr. C. S. Gordon, Jr. Pastor, officiating. Interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Shelia Marie Henderson Franklin; 1 son, Lamar J. Franklin; 3 brothers-in-law; Ben Thomas, Sr. , Rev. Alfred Hoard, Harold Lee Henderson; grandchildren; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Irvin, and Margaret Southall Franklin; 1 brother, Mervin Franklin; 3 sisters, Margaret Franklin Hoard, Shelia Leani Franklin Thomas, and Irvina Franklin Mayner.
