Rebecca “Becky” Jones, 62, of Amarillo, passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 1, 2024. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Cox-Rowley funeral home, 4180 Canyon Drive, Amarillo, Texas, with Pastor Ben Handon Officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. Becky was born on March 25, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to Birdie and Bonnie Jones. She graduated from the Amarillo College nursing program. Becky worked as a nurse for well over twenty years. She was an avid reader, specifically the James Patterson novels. She also enjoyed a good mystery television show, including but not limited to, Dateline and 20/20. Becky loved spending quality time with her family, playing games together and working puzzles. She was a very loving and devoted Nana to her grandchildren and enjoyed attending every sporting event she could. She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. Becky was preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Gerald Vinyard and her great nephew, Jules Moore. Survivors include her daughter, Leslie Fowler and husband Charlie; son, Josh Sharber and wife Andrea all of Amarillo; daughter, Cassie Bennett and husband Brian of Lubbock; one brother, Ron Jones also of Lubbock; her bonus daughters, Adina Hernandez and husband Saul of Amarillo; Melissa Vallia of Louisiana; her sister in law, Linda Jones; two nieces, Amanda Moore of Amarillo and Aubrie Owens of Hawaii; one nephew, Hayden Jones of Georgia; ten grandchildren, Averie, Keelie, Taegan, Tate, Simon, Brooklynn, Aaron, Hudson, Cooper and Ryan; Great niece and nephew, Hannah and Jacob. "Stephanie Renee Babbitt, 36, of Amarillo passed away on February 27, 2024. Stephanie was born June 30, 1987 in Portales, New Mexico to Lynetta and Kerry Babbitt. She was raised in Clovis, where she graduated in 2005 from Clovis High School. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord. Stephanie hobbies included spending time with her cat “Stormy”, listening to music and reading. She was a devoted mother to her two beautiful daughters, Lexi and Bella. Stephanie cherished time with her family, especially spending time with her Mom and Dad. One of Kerry’s fondest memories is cruising with Stephanie in his 1967 Nova. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Betty Riggan; her paternal grandparents, Clifford and Thelma Babbitt and two uncles, Harry Babbitt and Jerry Babbitt. Stephanie is survived by her parents, Kerry and Lynetta Babbitt; two precious daughters, Lexi Hohstadt and Bella Babbitt and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family."

Rocky was an electrician at ENMU from 1988 until his retirement in 2013. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Nikki, sons Cameron Howard (Reina), grandchildren Ethan, Reanne, and Samuel, all of Portales, NM and Jared Howard (Corey) of Raymond, ME. He is also survived by his mother Lila Watkins of Amarillo, TX, sisters Tresban Giron (Orlando) of Pojoaque, NM, Tracy Velasquez (Bert) of Amarillo, TX, brothers Rory Howard of Plano, TX, Billy Howard (Brenda) of Talihina, OK, brother-in-law Eldon Hays (Sissy) of Portales, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rocky was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Howard, and step-father, Donald Watkins. Rocky took pride in his property, always keeping it looking nice and tidy. He was a sportsman at heart, enjoying many activities throughout the years, but his favorite activity was spending time with his 3 grandchildren. No formal services will be held. "Jim was born on January 2, 1947 in Coahoma, TX to Bill and Margie Shafer. He was raised in Coahoma, graduating from Coahoma High School in 1964. He then moved to Lubbock, attending Texas Tech University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Jim was then drafted into the United States Army, serving until his honorable discharge in 1971. Upon his return, he went to work for Leon Hoyt and Co, eventually becoming partner, where he worked for over 35 years. He later began Shafer-Hicks CPA, working until his retirement in 2022. Jim married Tanga Kay Neel on September 29, 1983 in Amarillo. Together, they made many memories, traveling, visiting their children and grandchildren and vacationing to many beautiful places. He was a devoted member of the Amarillo Downtown Lion’s Club, where he served as secretary for many years and made many close friends. One of his favorite activities was the bell ringing at Christmas time, where he enjoyed the company of his 2 sons, Ty and Eric as he volunteered. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Texas Rangers play ball, spending time with his wife, Tanga and going to see his grandchildren as often as possible. Above all, he loved his family and cherished all the time he spent with them. Jim is survived by his wife, Tanga Shafer of Amarillo; 2 sons, Ty Shafer and wife Stephanie of Lufkin and Eric Shafer and wife Candice of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Amber Friemel and husband Kelby of Phoenix, AZ and Tara Eickenloff and husband Rhett of Blanco; 2 sisters, Peggy Davis and husband Tommy of San Angelo, TX and Barbara Wallace of San Antonio and 8 grandchildren, Daphne, Anthony, Cooper, Carson, Rush, Crew, Isla and Ben. She graduated from Caprock High School in 1977 and went on to marry her handsome husband, Brent Anderson on April 28, 2000 in Amarillo, Texas. Nychie enjoyed working at Walmart and in her free time coloring, crocheting and watching T.V. She took great pride in tending to TB and Pretty Kitty her beloved stuffed animals. Nychie loved and cherished spending time with all of her kids and grandchildren, no matter if they were blood or not! She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kristi Anderson; a brother, Mark Reed and a precious granddaughter, Nellarose Armstrong. Nychie is survived by her husband of 23 years, Brent Anderson; four daughters, Kathy Trimble, Kimberly Lawrence, Jessica Anderson and spouse Timothy and Stephanie Anderson and partner Tommy; three sons, Shawn Hart, Milo Dean Lawrence and John Lawrence; a sister, Rachel Green and 9 beloved grandchildren."

She then attended Amarillo College, receiving her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at various hospitals and nursing homes throughout Amarillo. She enjoyed traveling with her family, going to the water park and camping at the lake as often as possible. She married Ward Stratton on September 9, 2014. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandbabies. She liked to crochet and put together puzzles as well as play card games with her grandmother and other family members. "Lavada Jean (O’Donald) Permenter, 67, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024. Lavada was born in Canyon, Texas on June 15, 1956 to Cecil and Ruth (Keenan) O’Donald. She graduated from Canyon High School in 1975. Lavada married Jerry Permenter on October 27, 1978. She was a devoted wife, mother and Nana. Her love for life was only exceeded by the love for her family. Lavada’s grandkids were the light of her life. When her health would allow she loved to be on the Harley with Jerry. She spent 20\u0026#43; years with the Amarillo Independent School District faithfully working with visually impaired and special needs students. Lavada loved those kids and her job very much. She was a special lady who lit up the life of everyone she came in contact with. Lavada was very proud of her children, grandchildren and all that called her Nana. Lavada was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Vida Ruth O’Donald; three brothers, James “Bud” O’Donald, Curtis O’Donald and Daniel O’Donald and a sister, Jana McMurray. She is survived by her handsome husband of 45 years, Jerry Doyle Permenter Jr.; her daughter, Jennifer Johnson and husband Deandre Johnson Sr.; her son, Jerry “Trey” Permenter III; three grandchildren, Deandre Johnson Jr., D’Kiera Ruth Johnson and Jayceon Micheal Johnson and a great-grandchild, Kaavion Johnson."
