Frank Texeira Reis, Jr. passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born on February 11, 1937, to Frank and Agnes (Oliveira) Reis in Waipahu, Hawaii. In 1953 he met the love of his life, Sharon, at St Anthony High School in Long Beach, California where he graduated in 1955. He and Sharon were married on July 28, 1956. They settled down in Lakewood, California and started their family. He and Sharon always dreamed of having a large family and decided eight children was the magic number. In 1974 they took their seven children (at the time) and moved to Cave Junction, Oregon to start a business venture. They returned to California in 1976 and their eighth child, was born in 1978. Frank served in the Coast Guard Reserve from 1954 to 1958 and was proud to serve his country. Throughout his life he was a draftsman, engineer, and most recently a facilities manager for the U. S. Navy. He helped create robots that went to space, security systems to prevent retail theft, and helped refurbish and build new structures and recreation areas at naval bases in Seal Beach, San Diego, and Corona, California. He loved Angels baseball, the Green Bay Packers, and most importantly Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football. Frank coached little league, taught CCD, and was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts. He loved camping, nature, and riding his bike and even rode several century bike rides throughout his life. Frank is pre-deceased by his wife, Sharon, his parents, Frank and Agnes Reis, his sister Jeri Fromme, and grandson John Reis. He leaves behind his eight children and their spouses: Michael Reis (David Dearing), Doralise Reis, Brian Reis (Dawn), Sean Reis (Paula), Paul Reis (Beckie), Aaron Reis (Justine), Christi Reis Zmuda (John), and Franchesca Reis Gil (Robert), his best friend and brother Gary Heidner. As well as 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. He will be missed immensely and live in our hearts forever.
