Age - 82
September 11, 2023
Macclenny, FL
Irene Bryant Wilkerson, age 82, of Macclenny, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Frank Wells Nursing Home, surrounded by her family's prayers for her healing. Their prayers were answered with perfect healing when Jesus took her home to join other loved ones long since passed. Born in Moniac, Georgia, to Mary Etta (Crews) and Jake O. Bryant, she had lived in Baker County for most all her life. Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who devoted her life to the things she felt were the most important to her. Her service to God as a long-time member of Faith Baptist Church, taking care of her family, and service to her community with over 20 years as a Home Health Care Provider with the Baker County Council on Aging were at the top of her list. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, George, David Jr. , and Lonnie Bryant; sister, Kay; daughter, Shirley Wilkerson; son-in-law, Weir Barton; and her beloved husband of 30 years, Stonewall "Jack" Jackson Wilkerson. Survivors include her son, Hugh Wilkerson (BJ) of Glen St. Mary; daughter, Barbara Barton of Macclenny; brothers, Jimmy, Curtis, and Roland Bryant; sisters, Carol Covington, Mary Ann Whitehead, Leona Griffis, and Dot Smith; grandchildren, Stewart, Tiffany, Rhoda, Ethan, and Hannah; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Torran Dismuke and Brother Stew Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements entrusted to the care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL & CREMATION, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. (904) 259-2806.
