Robert “Bob” B. Bunting, 81, of Peoria, passed away Saturday, 17, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.He was born November 04, 1942, in Auburn, NY, to the late Robert F. and Harriett (Binner) Bunting. Bob was a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and retired from Caterpillar.Bob was a former dedicated member of Peoria Heights Congregational Church. He was a member of the Lions Club, and a former BSA Scout Master- earning the Silver Beaver Award. He enjoyed racing, baseball, reading, movies, collecting toy tractors, and especially his kitties.He married Marilyn Schroeder on June 25, 1966, in Fort. Atkinson, WI, and she preceded him in death on May 09, 2010. He married Melissa Barley on December 23, 2011, in Peoria, and she survives.He is additionally survived by his children, Debra (Scott) Rickard, Jason (Sierra) Bunting, Rob (Erin) Bunting; step-sons, Vance Calhoun, and Victor (Tanya) Calhoun; step-daughter, Billie (Clint) Tibbs; 5 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and sister, Jane (Chuck) Sorbello.He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and an infant son, Bryson.Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be held at The Wilton Mortuary on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 12PM. Visitation will be held from 10AM until the service time. William B. “Ike” Pfeifer, 83, of Peoria, IL, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at his residence.He was born on August 11, 1940, to the late Ralph and Mildred Pfeifer in Greenup, IL. On April 23, 1960, Ike married Sharon Doubet in Bartonville, IL. She preceded him in death on December 18, 2020.Ike was further preceded by nine of his siblings, four brothers: Wayne, Evan “Gene”, Thomas, and Ralph and five sisters: Rose “Peggy”, Myrtle “Joyce”, Waltressa “Sally”, Rena, and Dorothy.He is survived by three children, Christine (Terry) Ward of Mattoon, IL, Brian Pfeifer of Mooresville, NC, and Chad (Samira Yunez) Pfeifer of Oak Brook, IL; five grandchildren: Rachelle, Briona, Nicole, Brett, and Lindsey; five great-grandchildren; brother, John (Sheila) Pfeifer; and sister-in-law, Marianne Pfeifer.Ike worked at International Paper Company for over 30 years and later for Illinois Machine and Tool Works for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing euchre.Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Wilton Mortuary on Thursday, February 29, 2024. A committal service for both Ike and Sharon, will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an organization of the donor’s choosing.

Janice Helen "Jan" Taylor, 79, of East Peoria, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare of East Peoria. She was born on May 21, 1944, a daughter of Elmer W. Binkele and Lucille M. (Murray) Binkele. They preceded her in death. Jan married Foy Hugh Taylor on March 6, 1965 at First United Methodist Church in East Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1991 in Peoria. Jan is survived by her two sisters, Sandra Pendola of Lockport, IL and Ruth Heiniger of Germantown Hills, IL. She is also survived by her two daughters, Catherine (Tod) Rigdon and Margaret “Peggy” Russell, both of Manito, IL; four grandchildren, Avery Rigdon of Pekin, IL, Shelby Rigdon of Springfield, IL, Katie Russell of St. Louis, MO, and Lauren Russell, of Manito, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Inara and Analeigh Stoehr, both of Pekin, IL. She was a graduate of East Peoria Community High School, Class of 1962 where she was a cheerleader for four years. She also attended Bradley University. Jan worked as an administrative assistant for the Tazewell County Health Department for several years, retiring in 2007. Janice loved dogs, in particular, Cocker Spaniels. She loved and was completely devoted to each one she had. She leaves behind her Cockapoo, Lucy. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Inurnment will take place in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria at a later date. "Jessie Mae Payton, 84, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024. She was born August 23, 1939, in Ruleville, Mississippi to Jesse Robinson and Bertha Mae Johnson who proceeded her in death. Jessie was raised in Peoria, Illinois by L.J. and Lucinda May, who she loved to call mom and dad. They both also proceeded her in death. She married Noverta Payton on July 5, 1960, in Peoria, Illinois. Jessie was a talented Interior Decorator and for 40 years she worked at Cohen’s Furniture Store. She served on the Women’s Ministry at her church, Star of Hope Full Gospel Church. Jessie is survived by her husband Noverta; one daughter: Toni Pankey; six grandchildren: Hannah (Jacques) Flynn, Candis Petty, Priness Payton, Bethany Spearman, Juan Petty, and Aaron (DeAndra) Pankey; 27 great grandchildren and a host of family who will miss her dearly. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her two brothers Sammie Lee Robinson and Leon Robinson, her son Derrick Payton, great grandson Jayden Hines, and son-in-law Nathaniel Pankey Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held for Jessie on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Barrack’s Banquet Hall, located 1224 W. Pioneer Pkwy, Peoria, IL 61615 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Arrangements were made especially for the “Payton” family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel."

"Mr. Elbert Lee Martin, 83, of Peoria, IL passed away at 2:30 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Elbert was born on March 30, 1940 in Greenville, MS to Allie B. (Steward) Anding and Elbert Reed. He was married to his first wife, Hester Harris-Martin and later married his second wife, Charlene (King) Martin until her death. Elbert was the proud owner and operator of Al Martin Tree Service, a business through which he touched the lives of many in the community. His dedication extended beyond his work, as he often volunteered his time to barbecue for community events and cookouts, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. The Peoria community recognized Elbert\u0027s contributions by establishing AL Martin Day, a testament to his unwavering commitment to the community. Each year, the celebration saw Elbert cooking his famous barbecue, accompanied by music, games and community clean-up activities. PEKIN ~ Trudi Ann Hopkins, 46, of Pekin, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria. She was born on April 9, 1977 in Peoria to John and Carol (Bruns) Hopkins. Surviving are two aunts, Esther Bruns and Faye Bruns, both of Springfield and several cousins and friends as well as her pets. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Carol and Richard Logan; her father, John Hopkins; her maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Mayme Bruns and paternal grandparents Charles Hopkins and Edna M Church Hopkins. Trudi had chosen to be an organ donor though gift of hope. A graduate of Pekin High School, Trudi was a member of San Jose Methodist Church. Trudi loved helping animals and enjoyed volunteering out at TAPS. She also enjoyed crafting, going to concerts with her mom and having game nights with her friends. Family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Carle Health Methodist Hospital for the special care they gave Trudi and the wonderful guidance of the Gift of Hope team. Her private graveside will be at Green Hill Cemetery in San Jose. Scripture and prayer will be done by Bill Kinner. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
