Ikaika Konala Camillo Christian Tangonan, 35, passed away on September 10, 2023. He was born in Lihue, Hawaii on January 17, 1988 and was studying on becoming a lawyer. He is preceded in passing by his grandfather, Camillo Tangonan. Ikaika is survived by his father, Fred Tangonan; his mother Pandora Christian; his sisters, Brandy (Robert Wills) Mae Dias-Christian, Tristell (Marc) Calderon, and Kristell Ka'auwai; and grandmothers, Vernie Christian and Noemi Tangonan; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be announced in the future.

Natividad "Naty" Gray Belarde, 62 of Lihue, passed away Tuesday morning on November 14th, 2023. Naty was born in the city of Candon, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on December 31st, 1960. She moved to Kaua'i in 1978 to pursue new opportunities with her family. For 22 years, she worked as a Customer Service Representative at Walmart. Her family, friends and colleagues will always remember her as the most kindhearted and friendliest person. She was preceded in passing by her father Ernesto Gray Sr, and brother Ricardo Gray. Danny Lillo Crain passed away on November 19, 2023 at the age of 70. Danny was born in Houston, Texas on December 17, 1952 and was a pre-school teacher for Natural Bridges Pre-School. He is preceded in passing by his parents Betty Adams Crain and Lillo Crain; and his siblings, Marjorie Crain-Parkerson, Joan Crain-Nelson, and Gene Crain. He is preceded in passing by his son, Brigido Agoto; daugther, Belinda Agoto; parents, Policarpio and Placida Agoto; and brother Florencio Agoto. Sixto is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Prudenciana Calaro; children, Prudencio (Noralyn) Agoto, Sixto (Aida) Agoto Jr. , Marjorie Agoto; siblings, Asuncion Calaro, Rogelio Agoto, Jose Agoto, Manuel Agoto, Mina Raspado, Carlene Domingo, and Marcelino Agoto; grandchildren, Neslie Joy Agoto, Nicaela Agoto, and greatgrandchild Culen Agoto. Makoto Hirata

Makoto Hirata passed away peacefully at his home in Kapa`a on November 10, 2023, at the age of 95. He was born in Wailua Homesteads on July 15, 1928, and graduated from Kapa`a High School. He and his wife Miyoko raised their family in Gardena, CA where he had a long career in construction. In 1993 they moved to Coos Bay, OR where they lived their dream of retiring on the Oregon Coast--enjoying the bounty of the sea and the forests and hosting many visitors. In 2011, the couple returned to Kauai to live out their years in their Kapa'a home. Makoto maintained abundant gardens in every place he lived. He was preceded in death by his wife Miyoko, parents Shiro and Ichi Hirata, siblings Yoneo Hirata, Satoshi Hirata, Ichiyo Kunichika, Hatsue Onuma, Kaoru Hirata and James Hirata. He is survived by his brother Yutaka Hirata, of Torrance, CA, daughters Susan Hirata (Mark Young) of Eugene, OR, and Julie Hirata of Huntington Bch. , CA, and grandchildren Winter Young of Minneapolis, MN, and Jade Young of Portland, OR. Sarah is preceded in death by her father, David Kaneholani Sr. , paternal grandparents, Herbert & Elizabeth Kaneholani; maternal grandparents, Charles & Haruko Kiilau, and numerous aunties, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her mother, Charlotte Kiilau Kaneholani, companion Clement and children: Samuel, Jasen, and Bruce Kaneholani, Dawn-Lei (Hoku) Ricciardi, Kehau (Jose) Santiago, Olinda (Kekoa) Figueroa, Ali'i (Xannie) Kaneholani, Taisen Kaneholani, Kaikoa, and Kahea Ujano-Kaneholani. Survived by siblings: Masao (Lehua) Iopa, Mollie "Pua" Gardner, Charla (John) Brock, David Kaneholani Jr. , Maycia (Guy) Matsuyoshi, and Kealaonaona Iopa; grandchildren: Josiah, Johnny, Shanalyn, Kealohi, Kaimalie, Anela, Masina, Akela, Ha'aheo, Kealoha, Alaka'i and Keelan. Dorothy moved to Kauai in 1966, spent several years in Bend, Oregon before moving back to Kauai. She was preceded in passing by her husband Ralph S. Morehead. Dorothy is survived by her children Bruce (Angela) Morehead of Poipu, John Morehead of Koloa, Diane (Gregory) Barbar of Redmond, Oregon, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
