Hurley Edward "Ed" Wrightsman, 74, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at his home. He was born in Martinsville on September 9, 1949, to the late Hurley and Esther (Cooper) Wrightsman. Ed attended Martinsville schools. He married Suzanne Poe on April 27, 1968, and she survives. Ed worked as a welder fitter for over 40 years at Hue J. Baker and Farnsworth Steel where he retired in 2011. Ed was a long-time member of the Eagles in Mooresville. He enjoyed playing pool, darts, and poker. He also spent lots of time fishing and always liked to take Suzanne out for dinner. Most importantly, Ed loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were his biggest inspiration. In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Wrightsman; grandson, Donald Wrightsman; brothers, John, Pete, Richard, Robert, and Gene Crowe; sisters, Ruth Sims and Lilly Mae Fox. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Suzanne Wrightsman; son, Jason Wrightsman; daughters, Bionca Keeker and Bella Wrightsman; and grandchildren, Justin, Todd, and Jaylynn Wrightsman. Final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at a later date. Linda Lou Alexander, 84, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Friday, November 17, 2023. Linda was born July 30, 1939 in Mooresville, Indiana to Walter Lee and Salome Belle (Smith) Alexander. Linda was well known for her love of Elvis Presley. She had a large Elvis collection from the clothes she wore to her room decorations. Before she went to live at Greenwood Health and Living, she loved to travel with family despite her physical limitations. The most memorable travel adventure was to Hawaii to see an Elvis impersonator. She worked 38 years at Goodwill Industries as a parts sorter. She enjoyed the company of friends and family; she never met a stranger. She was known for being able to recall everyone's birthdays and anniversaries. In her earlier years, she attended multiple Granny Harker gatherings for people with disabilities where she met many lifelong friends. Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Salome Belle; father, Walter Lee; sisters, Sara Yeager, Ruth Brock, Bertha Shepherd, and Pauline Copeland; brother, John Alexander; 3 nieces and 3 nephews. Ralph R. Wilkerson, a beloved patriarch, dedicated serviceman, and respected community member, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023, in Mooresville, Indiana. He was born on August 7, 1926, in Russell, Kansas. Ralph is survived by his two sons, David Wilkerson (Karen) and Donald Wilkerson, his three daughters, Colleen Wilkerson, Dana Wilkerson, and Peggy Roush (Eddie), eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his sister, Noma Lucas. He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Erma (Berry) Wilkerson, his parents, Edmund G. and Mildred (Preston) Wilkerson, and his three brothers, Alva, Dean, and Kenneth Wilkerson. Ralph's family was his pride and joy, and his legacy lives on in their shared memories and continued love. Ralph's professional life was marked by a long and successful career at Indianapolis Power and Light, from which he retired in 1988. His dedication to his work was evident in his commitment to providing reliable service to his community. Ralph's service to his country was a significant part of his life. As a US Navy Veteran, he exemplified the values of honor, courage, and commitment. His service extended beyond his military career, as he was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a Scottish Rite Member. His commitment to these organizations demonstrated his dedication to the principles of brotherhood, charity, and truth. Ralph was a man of faith and had attended the Gosport Methodist Church. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and guidance throughout his journey. He was a beacon of light in his community, always willing to lend a helping hand and share words of wisdom. Ralph's interests were varied and reflective of his love for life. He was an avid camper, relishing the opportunity to connect with nature and share these experiences with his family. He also had a knack for fixing things, a skill that often came in handy and was a source of pride. Above all, Ralph cherished spending time with his family. Whether it was a simple family dinner or a grand holiday celebration, he treasured these moments and the joy they brought. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 1:00 P. Kevin J. O’Farrell, 66, Camby, passed away at his residence November 20, 2023, after a courageous battle with thyroid throat cancer. Kevin was born December 28, 1956, in Indianapolis, to the late Robert J. and Julia Anne (Jennings) O’Farrell, who survives. Kevin was united in marriage to Theresa Ann (Jones) "T. J. " O’Farrell, and she also survives. Kevin graduated from Wood High School and later earned a bachelor’s degree from ITT. He was employed at Eli Lilly & Company for 35 years as an engineer, retiring in 2018. Kevin enjoyed a retirement job at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory and O’Riley – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, allowing him to work alongside his funeral director daughter, Angela. Kevin often joked that working at the funeral home was the hardest he had ever worked. A devout Catholic, Kevin was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, but also stayed true to his old southside roots and always remained faithful to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed attending Mass there too with his mother and his siblings. Kevin was a doer and stayed very active in the Knights of Columbus. He was past Grand Knight of the St. Thomas More Council #7431 and served in other various offices. He was past Faithful Navigator of the Bishop Chatard Assembly #245 and served in other various offices. Kevin believed strongly in the Knights and all for which the fraternal order stands. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Kevin was also active in the Sons of the American Legion and served on the Mooresville Honor Guard. As a longtime resident of Camby, he served as president of the Upper Wildwood Shores Homeowners’ Association for many years. Kevin loved to travel, ride his motorcycle, and entertain at his pool in the summertime. He especially enjoyed trips to the mountains in Tennessee. He took great pride in caring for his yard. Kevin never turned down an opportunity for a good time or enjoying a cold beer. He loved his family immensely and always looked forward to chasing his grandchildren. In recent years, Kevin and T. J. enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter months. Survivors include his wife, T. J. ; children, Shaun (Tiffany) O’Farrell, Angela (Gary Lutz) O’Farrell, and Aaron (Shelby) O’Farrell; mother, Julia (Jennings) O’Farrell; brothers, Thomas O’Farrell, Brian (Libby) O’Farrell, Patrick (Jonna) O’Farrell; sisters, Kathy (Terry) Cook, Mary O’Farrell, and Brigid (Tim) Taylor; step-children, Rachel (Randal) Watts, Josh (Carrie) Watts, Christa (Vern) Ridgway; grandchildren, Shelby and Logan O’Farrell; best canine pal, Milo. James G. Johnson, 81, Mooresville, devoted husband of Susan (McKillip) Johnson, passed away unexpectedly November 9, 2023, while working on his farm. Jim was born February 23, 1942, in Indianapolis, to the late Gordon and Helen (Snyder) Johnson. Jim graduated from Shortridge High School and earned a degree in Agriculture from Purdue University. He was an avid Boilermaker fan; his mother having founded the university’s school of nursing. In addition to being a lifelong farmer, Jim worked as an auditor for the USDA for 30 years, retiring in 2013. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7431 and the 4th Degree Bishop Chatard Assembly. Jim loved the outdoors – especially caring for his beloved farm where he raised cattle and baled hay. Jim served his community as a precinct committeeman for many years and was on the Madison Township Board. Jim will be fondly remembered for his hard work ethic, his willingness to always lend a helping hand and for his gifts as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Johnson. Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan; children, Kristine Anne Britt, Eric (Patricia) Johnson, Andres (Ryan) Bell, Adam Johnson, and Kengo (Makiko) Miura and his grandchildren, Roth, Zoe, Madalene, Clarissa, Nathaniel, Josephine, Emma, Elise, Lori, and Joe. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Johnson; niece, Kim (Rick) Recker; and many other special family members, friends, and neighbors. William Joseph (Joe) Young (86) entered into life on September 10, 1937; he entered the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. He was born in Owensboro, KY to his parents, Bennett and Katherine Young. He was a member of the Light & Life Free Methodist Church in Avon, IN for 22 years. Prior to that, he was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Griffith, IN for 43 years. He retired from Inland Steel (East Chicago, IN) in 1990. Joe received two commendations from Island Steel for saving the lives of fellow employees. Joe always had a servant’s heart. He went on mission trips to Mexico, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Russia. After he retired, he loved volunteering at the Wabash Park Camp & Retreat Center in Clay City, IN. He had the privilege of taking several trips to the Holy Land and took people with him each time he went. Joe loved to work in the Food Pantry at the Light & Life Free Methodist Church. For the past 10 years, he and Nora participated in a HomeChurch group that they loved very much. The most important things in Joe’s life were his faith, his family, and his friends. Serving others was his passion and purpose. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennett and Katherine (Nash) Young, his brother, Bennett Young, Jr. , and his sisters, Darlene LaRoche and Betty Westmoreland. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Nora (Paris) Young, his children: John (Lori) Young, David (Carol) Young, Judith (Mark) Kinnick and Randall (Kellie) Young. Tonja Faye Blaschke, 70, of Mooresville, passed peacefully in the comfort of her home with family by her side on Saturday, October 28, 2023. She was born in Indianapolis to the late Clarence "Tub" Burnside and Hazel Elizabeth (Mumaw) Burnside on October 10, 1953. She graduated from Mooresville High School with the class of 1972. The fall of the following year, she married the love of her life, Eddie Blaschke, on October 5, 1973. Eddie and Tonja just celebrated 50 years of marriage earlier this month. Tonja was no stranger to hard work. She began working when she was just 14 years old at Kelly’s Restaurant in Mooresville as a waitress and cook. She worked for Duke Energy (formerly PSI) in building maintenance from 1991 until she retired in 2023. She enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening. Most importantly, she enjoyed the time spent with her family. She regularly attended sporting events and other activities where she enjoyed supporting her children, grandchildren, and other family members. Tonja will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends including her husband, Eddie Blaschke of Mooresville; son, Eddie Blaschke II (wife, Mandy) of Mooresville; daughter, Brandi Willis (husband, Kevin) of Mooresville; sisters, Gail McClusky of Mooresville and Debi Turpin Burnside of Mooresville; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
