"Huey Pierce Duncan, age 93, of Snellville, Georgia died October 1, 2023 from natural causes. At the time of his death, he resided at Tender Personal Care Home in Lawrenceville, Ga. Mr. Duncan was born March 7, 1930 in Good Pine, Louisiana to the late Dillard Henry Duncan and Lessie Irby Duncan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Frances Darnell Duncan; in 2019, and his brothers, Clarence, Richard, Arthur Lee, Lester and Dillard Duncan. He is survived by three nieces, Janet D. Gibbs, Isabella C. Schaefer, Susanna B. Duncan; and one nephew, William Duncan. Mr. Duncan graduated from Mangham, Louisiana High School and received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from LSU. While at LSU, he was voted as the most outstanding student in Electrical Engineering. He was also in the ROTC Program for four years. After graduation Mr. Duncan was assigned to work for the US Air Force at the Pentagon doing classified work during the Korean War. He entered the USAF as a 2nd Lieutenant and was given an honorable discharge as Captain in 1965. After his Air Force career, Mr. Duncan went to work for General Electric and later worked for Lockheed in Marietta as a Nuclear Engineer. At Lockheed he was assigned to High Temperature Nuclear Reactors for experimental testing. While at General Electric he served as project engineer for all ground support including the Saturn V that put the first man on the moon. During his civilian career he held various positions in nuclear, systems and project Engineering. The final 10 years of his career, Mr. Duncan was owner and President of Integrated Automations where his wife Frances served as Vice President of Public Relations. Mr. Duncan was a member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church of Atlanta. Spending most of his life in this area, he always considered himself an Atlanta native. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. The graveside service for Mr. Huey Pierce Duncan will take place on Tuesday, October 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA. "Mary Emily Doster Butler of Snellville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. She was born to Clarence Franklin Doster and Rosa Mae Smith Doster on March 28, 1940, the fourth of eight children. A native of Forsyth, Georgia, she was a 1959 graduate of Mary Pearsons High School, where she was a fierce basketball player. Mimi is preceded in death by her parents; brother Glynn F. Doster and sister Rose Alice Fite. Mimi is survived by five siblings: John Robert Doster (Agnes), Judy Ogletree (Tommy), Thelma Sheffield, Martha Doster (Ray Moomey), and George Doster (Flo Camp); plus multiple nieces and nephews. Mimi, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was married to Lee Otis Butler of Barnesville, Georgia; although the marriage ended, she remained a lifelong friend of the family. A special coworker, Barbara Clark and her husband became her second family. This friendship made it possible for Mimi to enjoy life with them and love Carol Clark and Susan Clark Quinley as her own. Daughter, Susan Clark Quinley was a frequent visitor until her last days. After an impressive 31-year career with the State of Georgia, she retired in 1992 as a Branch Manager with the Sales and Use Tax Department. Mimi enjoyed gardening, baking the famous pound cake, traveling, photography, and an occasional trip to the casino. Her travels and cruises took her to a number of foreign countries, including the Holy Land. Most memorable were her extensive trips with George. A favorite accomplishment was hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim, a total of 23 miles. Mimi was an active member of Mountain Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed her bible study class where she served many positions, sending cards to those facing illness or other needs. As a member of UDC Chapter in Forsyth, she was recognized as a 25 year member in 2018. Mimi will be remembered as an independent woman who cared about making sure her loved ones were well and supported, and frequently opened her home to those who needed a temporary place to live. Mimi was never boastful and lived a modest life, putting others first. A funeral service to honor the life of Mary Butler will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel in Snellville, Georgia. A graveside service will take place following the service at 3:00 PM at Monroe Hills Memory Gardens in Forsyth, Georgia. "John \u0026quot;Phillip\u0026quot; Neville went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He was born January 15, 1944 in Savannah, Georgia to Eugene Ottis and Elizabeth Neville. After growing up on a farm in Register, Georgia, he and his family moved to Statesboro where he graduated from Statesboro High School in 1962. A graduate of Birdwood Jr. College in Thomasville GA, he was enlisted in the Army National Guard as a member of the HHD 2/214th Artillery Company from March 16, 1967 to March 15, 1973. Phillip was well respected during his career and mentored many in the trucking industry. At Yellow Freight, he started out as a Diesel Mechanic and worked his way up to regional management. After leaving Yellow, he worked at DeKalb County first in Fleet Maintenance and subsequently in Water \u0026amp; Sewer management. He retired from there in 2005 after 20 years of service to the county. In retirement, Phillip treasured spending time with family and friends, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed golf and took memorable trips. He loved his land and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His deep faith in Jesus Christ was the source of strength; and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Loganville. His commitment to community service was shown in his membership at the Walnut Grove Masonic Lodge #703. Phillip is preceded in death by his parents Eugene Ottis and Elizabeth Neville, his brother Eugene Neville, Jr. , and his granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Tate. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Susan, daughter Gina Tate and husband Brian, son Justin Neville and wife Carissa, brother Don Neville and wife Anna, sister Lenora Neville, sister-in-law Natalie Neville, sister-in-law Brenda Gray \u0026amp; husband Irby, sister-in-law Mary Ann Zapata, grandchildren Isaac \u0026amp; Isabel Tate and Bennett \u0026amp; Emily Neville--in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, a great grandniece, and lifelong friend Graham Bird. James spent most of his life in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Shiloh High School in Snellville, Georgia as a member of the Class of 2015. His laid back, humorous, respectful, and kind personality easily made him loved by everyone who passed his way. He confessed his life to Christ at a young age at Kids across America Christian Sports Kamp in Golden, Missouri. James enjoyed participating at KAA Kamp as a member of Atlanta Youth on the Move during summer breaks. He also enjoyed playing basketball and participating in boy scouts as a youth. After High School, James took pleasure in working in hospitality and spending time with his family. James leaves his parents, Alisa and James Harris Sr. of Snellville, GA to celebrate his life. Along with three sisters Andreea Ayers and Jaimee Harris of Snellville, GA and Jada Harris who currently resides in Statesboro, GA for college, and a brother Jaylen Mhoon of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as a niece, Marlee Harris of Snellville, GA. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Thrisa Ayers of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Johnny Lee Ayers (Daisy Ayers) of Oran, Missouri to cherish his life along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. James was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Carrie and Alonzo Harris, along with his great-grandmother Mary Idom. As one of the KAA camp cheers chanted, "I'm alright.
