A Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Helen M. Wise, 78, of Palm Coast, FL, who passed away on February 13, 2024, will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held before mass in the memorial room from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.Helen was born on July 2, 1945, in Akron, Ohio to the late Clarence and Helen Wise. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse caring for patients in long term care. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Cursillo and Christ Renews His Parish Groups. Her hobbies included her devotion to God and traveling. Helen is survived by her cousin, Alise McKinney and preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Wise.Helen’s family entrusted her arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.

Richard (Dick) Arlen Duteau, 75, died peacefully on February 16, 2024, after a long illness surrounded by his beloved partner of 24 yrs., Karen A. Mercier, her daughter, Angela Mercier of Eustis, FL. his two daughters Heidi and Heather, both of Baldwinville, MA, and his loving dog Molly. Born August 12, 1948, in Gardner, MA to Marlen and Leokadia (Psczozlowski) Duteau. He is predeceased by one sister Betty Stone, wife of Kenneth Stone of Winchendon, MA. He is survived by a brother David Duteau, his wife Augusta of Leominster, MA, and a sister Margaret Wolf and her partner Sue of FL. He graduated from Gardner High School, class of 1967. He moved to Palm Coast, Florida in 2013.Richard had two daughters, Heidi Buscanera and her husband Michael, Heather Osborne and her partner Jeff Yurasha both of Baldwinville, MA. Richard has 9 grandchildren, Maranda Byam and her husband Jesse of Antrim, NH, Tyler Osborne of Fitchburg, MA, Christopher Buscanera and his partner Kayla Peabody of Winchendon MA, Nathan McCartney of Baldwinville MA, Nicholas Buscanera and his partner Kim Allen of Orlando, FL, Jamison McCartney and his partner Mary Beth of NH, Mathew Buscanera and his partner Taylor Elmore of Orange, MA, Ashlynn McCartney of Baldwinville, MA, Desiree Buscanera of Baldwinville, MA. Five great grandchildren Easton, Colton, Grayson and Haisley Byam of Antrim NH, Luca Buscanera of Orange, MA.He graduated from Leominster Trade School in 1968 with a certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Quinsigamond Community College in 1973 with an Associate’s Degree in Medical Science and Respiratory Therapy. He also did post graduate studies at Wachusett Community College and Fitchburg State College. He began working for MA Dept. of Corrections in 1981, M.C.I Norfolk, Walpole, Warwick, Shirley and N.C.C.I. Gardner, he retired in 2005 as a Lieutenant.Richard along with his former wife Judith (Duteau) Jaillet of Port St. Lucie, FL, owned and ran Tom’s Pizza Barn in Baldwinville, MA. Many fun times were had. Bluegrass on Friday nights, free ice cream cones for town Little League teams. Halloween was a favorite time of year for Dick, along with his former wife Judy, they would close down the business to put on a free Haunted Hayride with free cider and fresh homemade cider donuts to everyone who dared attend. Of his numerous accomplishments, we are most proud of his service to our Country. He joined the Army in 1968 earning the honor to be called a Green Beret Airborne Ranger, serving as a Senior Medical Specialist and Operations/Intelligence. He served with the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 11th, and 20th Special Forces Group, earning many awards and decorations to include, Soldier of the Year, which he received twice, Parachute Badge from U.S.S.R. (first American to achieve this badge), Bolivia, and the USA. These are just a few of the numerous Awards and Decorations he received. He spoke Russian, Ukraine, and Spanish. He served many tours.Prior to his move to Palm Coast, FL, Richard resided with his partner, Karen A. Mercier in Templeton, MA. He was instrumental in providing guidance to Karen’s son, Shawn Mercier who later went to join the Army and served for 20 years. In his younger years and in his free time, enjoyed scuba diving, and was an avid reader. After finally retiring to Florida, he loved spending time with family, his loving partner, Karen, and her daughter Angela Mercier of Eustis FL, his loving dog, Molly, and numerous friends at the dog park in FL.Richard leaves his family with many happy memories and stories to share, whether it’s the picayunes who live in the stone wall, or the many pranks he played on most of us, he always made us laugh. Everyone reading this that knew Richard, has a “Richard Story” to share. Wherever he went, he conveyed kindness and caring, whether it be with toys/trinkets he packed in is military bag for the children he came across on his missions, to bring them a little joy. Most of all, I hope when we think of Richard (Dick), we remember all his accomplishments, but most of all, remember his kind, loving, and generous heart. Mark was a truck driver and retired in 2010; after retirement he relocated to Palm Coast, Florida where he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren! Mark was a Mason and volunteered his time to serve his community. He enjoyed outdoor activities at the beach, fishing and boating, and the visiting mountains. He had a great sense of humor, always making people laugh. Mark is survived by his wife, Lorene “Lori” Peterson; daughter, Samantha Peterson Priest (husband, Douglas Priest); son, Michael J. Peterson (fiancé, Dianne Alesna); granddaughter, Michaela Priest; grandson, Luke Priest; his beloved chihuahua, Chongo; and other extended family and friends. Gary Joseph Silbert, 77, passed away at his Palm Coast home on 2/17/24. Gary was born in Philadelphia, spent thirty-five years of his married life in Bucks County. However, he was a Palm Coast resident for over twenty years. Gary is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Maryann (nee Lelionis), his sons, Robert (Brigita) and Richard (Audrey) and his five grandchildren, Olivia, Adria, Griffin, Logan and Mairin. Gary was a kind, generous and caring person to all that knew him. He was there for his immediate family in words, deeds, support and example. He gathered Anthony Lelionis, his father-in-law, Maryann’s eight siblings, their spouses, their children and all his friends under his wing and treated them as if they were his own family. The feeling was reciprocal. Gary was employed by Heintz, Division of Kelsey Hayes for over twenty-seven years. Gary obtained his Tool and Die apprenticeship here and went on to become an FAA Inspector. While in Pennsylvania, Gary was active in the Boy Scouts of America, Bristol Township National Little League and Saint Thomas Aquinas CYO Football league. He was an avid motorcyclist for many years. During that time he served as one of the presidents for the Moose on Bikes out of Daytona Moose Lodge 1263. The family would like to send their thanks and appreciation to the Advent Health Flagler Hospital for Gary’s wonderful care in 2023. A special thank you to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office for the caring and gentle handling of Gary’s last day.

She graduated from East Forsyth High School and in 1967 graduated from Dell Lab School with her certificate in Phlebotomy. She worked as a nuclear medicine lab tech for 20 years, a phlebotomist for American Red Cross for 10 years and the Florida Blood Center for 6 years. Janice married William R. Long on March 3, 1995, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and in 1999 they moved to Palm Coast from Gastonia, North Carolina. Janice is survived by her husband of 30 years, William (Randy) Long; daughters, Dawn (Kevin) Cline, Samantha (Allen) Bostwick; sisters, Sharon (John) Payne, Vicky (Stan) Surrett, Dale (Jerry) Martin; four grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.The family of Mrs. Long entrusted her arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.

James Stanley Bencivengo, 79, of Palm Coast, FL, formerly of Newton and Hackettstown, NJ, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024. James was born in Dover, NJ to the late August and Gertrude (Conn) Bencivengo. He was a proud Veteran serving in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. James was a Pharmaceutical Operator for Novartis Pharmaceuticals prior to retirement in 2003. James was a former coach for the Newton Little Braves baseball and football teams. He was an avid golfer and played Santa Claus for many Hackettstown service organizations. James was a member of the American Legion Post 164 in Hackettstown, the Newton VFW Post 5360 and the Hackettstown VFW. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge in Hackettstown. In addition to his parents, James was also predeceased by his sisters, Sharon Scudder, Arlene Hendershot and Anne Marie Sexton; and his brother, John Bencivengo. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jenney (Straway) Bencivengo; his son, James S. Bencivengo, Jr. and wife, Melissa; his grandchildren Nicolle, James (Paddio), and Gianna; his brothers, August Bencivengo, Jr. and wife, Beverly, and Nicholas Bencivengo and wife, Connie; and his sisters, Sandy Bartek and husband, Ray, and Linda Aranda and husband, Andy. Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, NJ. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery, Lawnwood Ave, Newton, NJ.
