"Ronald, age 80, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 9, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong resident of Albany, where he also served as a Deacon for Bethlehem Baptist Church. By trade, Ronald was an exceptionally skilled carpenter and member of Carpenters Local 1098 of Baton Rouge for over 58 years; in addition, he worked for and retired from Honeywell Industries. During his leisure time, Ronald enjoyed watching his LSU Tigers, listening to Swamp Pop music with his Jewell, while relaxing in his recliner. Ronald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jewell D. Bradham Sistrunk; daughter, Shanda Sistrunk Holak of Hammond; son, Ronald 'Ronnie' Sistrunk (Alta) of Fluker; grandson, Dru Sistrunk of Florida; sister, Carolyn Wilkinson (Herman) of Walker; sister-in-law, Deloris Sistrunk; brother-in-law, Dewitt Bradham (Sheila); along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Nora Sistrunk; brothers, Edward and Michael Sistrunk; and nephew, Edward 'Eddie' Sistrunk. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Mary Z. "Sue" Scruggs, 75, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at home surrounded by family. She was born on October 25, 1948, in New Orleans. She was a graduate of Warren Easton High School and was employed by Perrin & Carter Engineering for over 25 years. She spent her life residing in New Orleans and Metairie until moving to Tickfaw seven years ago. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Salvadore Zummo and Marie Ferro Zummo; brother, Terry Zummo; brothers-in-law, Vincent Baiamonte and James Melito; nieces, Vickie Baiamonte and Vita Baiamonte Loria; nephew, Paul Zummo; and her beloved dog, Alexis. Mary is survived by her husband, John Scruggs, Sr. ; her son, John Scruggs, Jr. ; and one grandchild, Cole Noah Scruggs. She is also survived by her four siblings; Virginia Baiamonte, Lawrence "Butch" Zummo (Marilyn), Sadie Genovese (Sal), and Sally Melito. She will be missed dearly by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Katrina Wade for her compassionate care over the last ten years and to the staff of St. Tammany Hospice. "Shelly, age 54, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family members on Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was a native of New Orleans, and a longtime resident of Hammond. First and foremost, Shelly's heart in life was caring for others. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse at North Oaks for 32 years, Shelly loved bringing new life into the world. She never met a stranger, and held engaging conversations with almost everyone she was introduced to. Scrapbooking was her passion, along with other hobbies, including cooking her famous lasagna, baking and decorating everyone's birthday cakes, and crafting homemade creations. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and pets, making lasting memories along the way. Shelly was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rita Galloway Vicaro passed away, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at her home in Natalbany, LA at the age of 86. She was born February 6, 1937, in Isabel, LA to the late James Edward Galloway and Zellie Lott Galloway. Rita was a member of Natalbany Baptist Church. She, along with her late husband, was a successful business owner and farmer, having owned Johnny’s Plumbing. Rita enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, farming and spending time with family and friends over coffee. Rita is survived by her daughters, Jacquelyn Vicaro Decker, and her husband Scott and Peggy Vicaro; son, Frank "Bo" Vicaro; grandchildren, Christina Decker Lacara, Courtney Decker, and his wife Tisha, Nicholas Decker, and his wife Jamie, Kimberly Vicaro Crawford, and her husband Kenneth, and Ashley Vicaro; sisters-in-law, Linda Galloway and Dorothy Lee Galloway; and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, neices and nephews. Chester "Chet" David Kolwe, 69, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. He was born August 18, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Oswald B. Kolwe and Elaine Bohning Kolwe. He resided in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1972. He spent his years working as a farmer, commercial fisherman, and most recently general manager at Bohning and Company, where he retired, after 30 years, in June of 2022. He rarely met a stranger and always greeted others with his smile. He could often be found outdoors, whether hunting or fishing or working in his garden with his grandsons. He also enjoyed attending the LSU baseball games, a passion he shared with his brothers. He was a true family man, with a heart of gold; always putting the needs of others before his own. Chet is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Gloria B. Kolwe, whom he married on January 23, 1981. He was the loving father of Aimee (Ryan) Short, and beloved "Pawde" to his two grandsons, Levi James Short and Noah David Short. In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Mark (Bess) Kolwe, John (Miriam) Kolwe, and Kay Kolwe Coon (Frank Janotta); aunts, Mary Morgan and Margaret Price; uncle, John Bohning; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oswald and Elaine Kolwe; grandparents, Chester and Winnie Bohning and Oswald and Rose Kolwe; uncle, William Bohning; and cousin, Mary Liz Beaton. Patrick Salvador Governale, age 82, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023. He was born on March 7, 1941 to the late John and Rosa Governale in Independence, LA. Patrick retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after 28 years of dedicated service in the United States Air Force. He continued his career with the Air Force as a civilian contracted employee for 27 additional years giving him a total of 55 years of service to his beloved country. Patrick enjoyed watching the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saint football games with family and friends. He enjoyed good food, nice things and sharing with everyone. He was a Christian man known for his giving heart. He enjoyed making people feel important and special. He was committed to his family and ensured they could always call on him for support, love and guidance. He was a loving father and grandfather and great grandfather. He made friends that became family. Once you met him you could not forget him because he left a lasting impression. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many. He is survived by his loving daughter, Robin Governale (Doug McDonald); grandchildren, Lacey Wilson (Marshall) and Patrick "Boo" Driskill (Cecily); great-grandchildren, Marley Wilson, 14, Lily-Ann Wilson, 13, and August Driskill, 3; sister, Rosalie Delaughter (Mike); numerous nieces and nephews; former wife, Patricia Ann Governale; furbaby, Sassy. Susan Marie McKean Smith, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the age of 72. She was born on Wednesday, April 25, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Oley A. McKean Sr. and Georgette Marie Martin McKean. Susan received an LPN degree in Hammond and worked for Hammond Nursing Home over 20 years and Lakeview Hospital in Covington for numerous years. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula. Susan was a very talented seamstress and baker, and she loved traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Susan is survived by her sons, Chuck Milton (fiancée, Alana Riley) and James "Jamie" Milton; grandchildren, Alexis Milton, Jacob Milton, Gabrielle Milton, Eva Falcon, Caleb Milton, and Michael Milton; great grandson, Jackson Grey; brothers, Oley A. Ada Lee Davidson Ada Lee Davidson, age 72, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a nurse by trade but had many hobbies, such as, decorating cakes, painting, riding horses, and country music. Ada was a very creative person with a greenthumb who could grow just about anything and loved tending to her plants. She made quilts for over 37 years for individuals, charities, dixie trail rides and even has one displayed in the Smithsonian Museum in memory of the 9/11. Ada loved giving people hell saying what was on her mind, all while enjoying a cup of coffee. She was very proud of her family, the first time she saw her son, Morgan "Jack", jump his 4-wheeler during one of his mud races, she said it took her breath away. If she didn't give you a nickname she probably didn't like you. Ada also loved to make spur of the moment trips to anywhere with her family and cooking up some delicious Hungarian dishes. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister who is already deeply missed. She is survived by her children, Robin Davidson Bordes, Morgan Ross Kinchen (Kristy); grandpup, Budder Bean; grandchildren, Audrey Grace Kinchen, Joel Sambola, and Trenton Sambola; siblings, Susie Huszar, Diane Martin, Peggy Coumes, Michael John Huszar, Todd Huszar and Frankie Huszar; as well as her ride or die best friend, Angela Coyne.
