"Helen Lee Watts passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023. Born June 22nd, 1945, she was the daughter of Edward and Mildred Colberg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie. She is survived by children Paula, Mike and Susan Smith, Thomas and Renee Watts, Terry and Teresa Isenhower, and Frankie and Amber Birdtail. Included in the family are 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. After retiring from a fully loved career as an accountant for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Helen spent all of her time with her husband, traveling, putting together puzzles, and watching old tv shows. She was loved and will be missed. A wake with food and great memories will be had Thursday pm for friends and family. Contact a member of family if you would like to attend. "Ted (Teddy Dean) Butler went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the age of 85. Ted was born May 12, 1938 in Okmulgee, OK to Alva and Iona Perkins Butler. Preceding him in death are parents Ab and Onie Butler of Morris, twin brother Freddy Gene Butler, two sisters, Helen Butler and Patsy Ellis and her husband Bob Ellis, two nieces Debby Sparks-Margiotta and Sherry Grimmett, two sons-in-law Darrin Smith and Stephen Williamson and first wife Peggy Butler. In-laws Frank and Eulela Kubicek and Betty Dennis Kubicek and brother-in-law Frank Ronald Kubicek. Survivors include his wife, Claudia of the home; daughter Beth Ann Penington and husband, JD of Hollis, OK ; daughter Rebecca Williamson of Tulsa, OK; Step-son Kyle Gregorio and wife Alicia of Okmulgee, OK. Grandchildren Kimberly (Penington) Dugger and husband Michael of Hollis, OK; Charity (Penington) Martin and husband Clayton of Altus, OK; Blake Burruss and wife, Rachel of Prosper, TX; Krista Sands of Muskogee, OK; Holly Chapman and her husband Joel of Oktaha, OK; Sarah-Lyn Rausch and husband Steven of Tulsa, OK; Jay Darrin Smith and wife Mackenzie of Muskogee, OK; Brianna Gregorio of Okmulgee, OK. Great grandchildren Heather, Abigail, Dexter, Claire, Carson, Barrett, Braylee, Addysion, Brycelyn, Gabriel, Andrew, Silas, and Jet. Nieces Amanda Sanderson and family of Tulsa, OK, Jamie Abney and family of Owasso, OK: and Nephew Tyler Sparks and family of Broken Arrow, OK. Ted attended Morris Public School and played high school football. He was All District Tackle his Jr. and Sr. year. He graduated Morris High School in 1956 and attended Central State College in Edmond, OK for one semester but when he didn't make the football team he transferred to Connors State Junior College in Warner, OK where he played football. He continued his education and football career at the College of the Ozarks in Clarksville, AR, where he lettered in football and track, earning his BS in Physical Education. He earned his Masters in Educational Administration from Northeastern State University, and EdD of Educational Administration from Oklahoma State University. In 1955, at age 17, Ted enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard. He also served in the US Marine Corp Reserve, US Air Force Reserve, and US Army Reserve. After serving in the Military for 35 years, in 1994 he retired from the Army Reserve as a Colonel. Because of his call to Active Duty in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crises, he is a Veteran of the Cold War. He was also called to active duty in the Persian Gulf War of 1991. His favorite time in the military was when he was Commander of Company A, 1st Battalion, 377th Regiment of Okmulgee, OK and having a part in Military Maneuvers in South Korea. Ted is a graduated of following Army Schools: Infantry Officers Basic and Advance courses, US Command and General Staff Course, and The Army War College. After moving back to Morris, OK he was a member of the White-Williams American Legion Post #10 and served as Post Commander. Ted was an educator for 22 years beginning his career as teacher/coach at Council Hill, OK. He continued as teacher/coach at Beggs, Jenks, and Broken Arrow. His administration positions were principal at Mary White Elementary, Haskell, OK, Eastside Elementary \u0026amp; Banneker Kindergarten in Okmulgee, OK and was Assistant Superintendent of Okmulgee Public Schools, Admin Assistant at Wewoka, OK and ended his career as Superintendent of Schools Felt, OK in 2000 and he returned to Morris, OK. Ted took a break from education after he left Jenks and worked for the Social Security Administration for 15 years and Oklahoma Farm Bureau for 2 before he returned to education. He also did custom hay bailing and he helped promote the tractor pull for the Tulsa State Fair as well as other pulls. He was a member First Baptist Church of Morris. Special thanks to the staff of Seasons Hospice of Muskogee for the wonderful care and loving support given during Ted's final days. Funeral services, coordinated by McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee, will be held at 2 pm Saturday, November 11, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Morris, OK with Reverend Ray Moffeit officiating. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Crenshaw, Harold Watkins, Bill Byars, Jimmy Lee, Max Shoemake, and Robert Greenlee. Born to Darrell and Carole Ruth (Newton) BlueJacket in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Jim Ed displayed a keen interest in climbing at an early age that would serve him well in his adult life. After graduating from Okmulgee High School in 1979, Jim Ed attended OSU Stillwater for a short time before embarking on different jobs that developed him into a jack of all trades and skills. He could fix anything and liked figuring out how things worked. For several years, Jim Ed was a pipefitter in the Houston, Texas oil refineries, climbing in and through pipes at heights, most people might be hesitant to try, but he excelled at it. His work ethic was flawless, and he made good friends throughout the years with his easy smile and helping hands. Jim Ed enjoyed magic card tricks, good music, good food and motorcycles were his favorite. His faith and his family were his priorities, and his mom was his sidekick for many Sunday dinners at the Cornerstone Church in Okmulgee, where he was an active member for many years. His church family could always count on him for a cheerful word and encouragement. Jim Ed was an awesome big brother to Vickie (BlueJacket) Beam, and Don Logan BlueJacket. When the three of them were together, there was always something going on. Between swimming in the creek or riding horses, the time spent outside during the summer will always hold great sibling memories. An avid diver, Jim Ed was always showing off his diving skills that neither sibling could begin to match. But there was no sibling rivalry between the three, their bond was tight. Jim Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Robin BlueJacket, and grandparents, Opie and Vickie Johnson of Morris, Oklahoma and his father Darrell BlueJacket and his brother Don Logan BlueJacket. "William Drew Huckabee, affectionately known as Willie, graced this world on June 30, 1959, and peacefully departed on June 22, 2023 leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a profound impact on the lives of those who knew him. His presence will be greatly missed, but his legacy of love, devotion, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Born on June 30, 1959, Willie was a proud native of Morris, Oklahoma. His educational journey took him through Union Elementary School and Twin Hills School, before graduating from Morris High School in 1977. Willie then went on to earn an Associates Degree from Northeastern A\u0026amp;M in Miami, Oklahoma. Willie, a proud husband, father, and grandfather, found his greatest joy in his family. He was first married to Dawn Giulioli, and together they were blessed with two sons, Braxton and Brayden. Later, on April 15, 1989, he found love once more when he married Kristy Shoemake. From their union, they welcomed their cherished son, William "Will" Preston Huckabee. Willie\u0027s entrepreneurial spirit flourished when he established Huckabee Feed \u0026amp; Supply, a beloved feed store in Morris, which he owned and operated for over 30 years. Through his expertise, genuine care, and unwavering dedication, he became an integral part of the community, providing essential services to farmers, ranchers, and pet owners alike. Huckabee Feed \u0026amp; Supply was a trusted source for supplies and advice, and it remains a lasting testament to Willie\u0027s commitment to serving others. In 2007, Willie embarked on a new chapter of his life and joined AtWoods, where he served as the General Manager in McAlester, Oklahoma until his well-deserved retirement in 2018. His natural leadership abilities and passion for community service made a lasting impact on AtWoods and its customers. Willie\u0027s life revolved around his loved ones. He took immense pride in his role as a husband, providing unwavering support and love to his wife Kristy. As a father, he was a constant pillar of strength and guidance to his sons. He held a special bond with his grandkids, attending their sporting events with pride and delight. One of his favorite pastimes was going fishing with his kids and grandkids, providing them with cherished moments of connection and laughter. A man of diverse interests, Willie had a deep appreciation for history. He embraced his passion as a Civil War historian, actively participating in reenactments and portraying the battles fought during that pivotal time. His commitment and knowledge earned him the esteemed position of Brigadier General of the Trans Mississippi Brigade in the Civil War reenactment community. Beyond his historical endeavors, Willie had the unique opportunity to share his love for the past through the silver screen. As an extra, he lent his presence to several movies, including \u0026quot;The Blue and the Grey,\u0026quot; \u0026quot;The Patriot,\u0026quot; \u0026quot;Ride with the Devil,\u0026quot; and \u0026quot;The Lone Ranger. \u0026quot; These experiences allowed him to immerse himself in different worlds and create treasured memories. One of the greatest joys in Willie\u0027s life was listening to his son, Will, perform country music. He would eagerly support his son by assisting with setting up and taking down equipment for his gigs. Willie\u0027s beaming smile and unwavering encouragement were a testament to the pride he felt for his son\u0027s musical talents. Willie leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristy, his sons Braxton , wife Tiffany and Brayden, wife Jenni, and Will. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Marek, Maverick, Maddox, Kinsley, and Kase, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. "John R. Davis, Jr. passed away at his home in Morris, Oklahoma on June 8, 2023. He was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on October 31, 1980, to John and Karen (Hamon) Davis. He grew up in Okmulgee and attended Okmulgee High School. John joined the United States Army and served in Operation Desert Storm in the Iraq War. He served his country for eight years before receiving his honorable discharge. John earned his Associates Degree in ACR and a Bachelor of Technology in Instrumentation Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology. After graduating with his ACR degree, John spent several years working in the Physical Plant at OSUIT. He has spent the last five years working for CP Kelco. In his spare time, John liked to make fishing bait. He created his own jigs and then began his own business Timbo Slice Jigs. John is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bette and Bob Davis and Uncle Buster Hamon. He is survived by his wife Amber of the home, parents John and Karen Davis, children Kyla, Michael, Brenna and Timber, sister Angie Been and husband Chad and nephew Ayden, cousins, Summer, Will, and Oakley, mother in law Patricia Messer, father in law Billy McDowell, grandparents Bucky and Joyce Hamon, grandmother Edna Messer, uncles Leslie Davis and wife Susie, Sam Davis, Toby Davis and wife Mary, Scot Davis and wife Nonie, brothers in law Patrick McDowell and wife Rendi, Lex Giddings, and Bilazer McDowell, nieces and nephews Sebastian, Riley, Clayton, Daliela and Emma, and last but not least his best friend Allen Bowen.
