Merri worked in manufacturing, and as a nurse’s aid. She enjoyed watching movies with her family. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Brandon (Josie) Hainline, Amber Timmons, Drew Timmons-Hainline, Jaiden Hainline, and Emily Hainline; grandchildren, Bailey and Paxten; two great-grandchildren; her mother, Marie Hainline; sisters, Linda (Carl) Sweatman and Melody Unkrich; and brother, Steve (Sandy) Hainline. She was preceded in death by her father.

Norma Lee Bauman, 67, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Per Norma’s wishes, she will be cremated. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on March 3, 2024, from 1-3 p.m. at the Fairfield VFW. Memorials may be made to Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family. Norma was born July 27, 1956 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Harold R. and Alice Mae (Burlingmair) Bauman. Norma served in the Army in the early 1980s. Norma enjoyed meeting people through work with insurance agents in Oklahoma, Colorado, and Fairfield, as a staff member of Fairfield motels, as a member of the Fairfield Library staff, and most recently, as the event coordinator of the McElhinny House in Fairfield. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, riding in Lee Morton’s classic cars, and "pet sitting" for friends. Those left to honor her memory include her sisters, Joan (Kenneth) McKee of Fairfield and Mary Biggs of Fairfax Station, Virginia; nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Bauman, and brother, James Bauman, who died in infancy.

Jack Eugene Bradley, 90, a resident of Fairfield, passed away peacefully Monday, February 26, 2024 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, with his family at his side. Funeral services celebrating his life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at First Lutheran Church in Fairfield. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield. Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or Jefferson County Conservation for the trail system. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family. Jack was born September 29, 1933 in Fairfield, the son of Frederick and Nevada (Shondel) Bradley. He was a 1951 graduate of Fairfield High School. Jack married Dolores "Dee" Godwin, December 27, 1952 at Antioch Church in Perlee, Iowa. He served in the Iowa National Guard. Jack held many jobs throughout his life. He worked as a machinist at Dexter, retailer at Martha Brown, LTD., tax accountant, and the Iowa DOT. Jack was a sports enthusiast, running track and playing basketball in high school. He was an avid and loyal St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, was an excellent cook, and helped coach Little League. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Dee; daughters, Debbie (Chuck) Updike of Jerseyville, Illinois, and Sandy (Ralph) Stever of Libertyville; sons, Mark (Jeanna) Bradley of Washington, and Jason (Rachel) Bradley of North Liberty; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Anne Edwards of Washington; sisters-in-law, Iona Bradley and Lea Bradley; and his beloved dog, Suki. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim, Tom, Pete, Charles, Mike, John, and Jerry; sisters, Phyllis and Linda; son-in-law, Dean Brown; and mother and father-in-law, Warren and Berniece (Coop) Godwin.

A memorial mass will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City. The service will be available via Livestream at the Beatty Peterseim Facebook and YouTube pages. The family will greet friends from 9:30 - 10:30 AM, a rosary will be held at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City. A memorial fund has been established for St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Interment will be at a later date in Holy Name Catholic Cemetery in Marcus, Iowa.Terry was born March 19, 1955, in LeMars, Iowa, the son of Merlin F. and Lillian (Kohn) Garvin. He graduated from Marcus Community High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Mt. Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. He worked in customer service at NCS and CMS for 30 years. Terry was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus where he was a 3rd Degree Knight. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Terry was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He also enjoyed following his great nieces’ school activities, 4-H events, and was always in the stands at their athletic events, musicals, and plays at Highland Community School District.Survivors include five siblings: Larry Garvin of Marcus, IA, Ron (Jackie) Garvin of Tucson, AZ, Marilyn Goody of Riverside, IA, Dennis (Jean) Garvin of Hales Corners, WI, Jane (Steve) Edwards of Marshalltown, IA; seven nieces and nephews: Rebecca Garvin of Tucson, AZ, Rachel (Andy) Cerny of Riverside, Mark Goody of Riverside, Jake (Cassie) Edwards of Story City, IA, Patrick (Jeunesse) Garvin of Milwaukee, WI, Brittny (Garrett) Brown of Union, IA, and Michael (Fiancee Anna) Garvin of New Berlin, WI; and seven great-nieces and nephews: Kayla Cerny, Kelsi Cerny, Courtney Goody, Dale Edwards, Carli Edwards, Stinson Brown, Lindon Brown, and numerous cousins.Preceding Terry in death were his parents, brother-in-law Richard Goody, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Danny served in 1W service in Michigan as a dairy tester. On May 23, 1954, he was united in marriage to Amelia Swantz at the Fairview Mennonite Church. Danny was a farmer all of his life. He was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church, where he served in many capacities, including being the sexton for the cemetery for many years. Danny was very involved with the Mennonite Disaster Service and served as state coordinator for 17 years. He enjoyed chatting with folks, eating ice cream, and sharing his sense of humor with everyone.Survivors include his daughter Jane (Kent) (Hersberger) Widmer of Iowa City, son Lowell Yoder of Kalona; three grandchildren: Nicole (Matthew) Costello of Durand, WI, Michael Hershberger of Kalona and Joshua Widmer of Williamsburg, two great-granddaughters: Lydia and Holland Costello; and sister-in-law Susie Yoder Hostetler of Kalona.Preceding Danny in death were his parents, his wife Amelia in 2013, daughter Carol in 1958, son-in-law Delwyn Hershberger, one sister Mary Yoder, and three brothers: an infant, and Delmar and L. David (Leona) Yoder, and his nephew Leon Yoder.

Marsha E. Patterson, 79, of West Chester, passed from this life on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital, surrounded by her family. Per her wishes, she has been cremated and a private family graveside service for her and her husband Frank, who passed on November 25, 2023, will be held March 2, 2024, at the West Chester Cemetery. The family will greet friends for a time of celebrating Frank and Marsha’s life at the West Chester Heritage School on March 2, from 2 – 5 PM. A memorial fund has been established for the West Chester Community Church. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family. Marsha Elizabeth (Blegen) Patterson was born September 9, 1944, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Roscoe M. and Jeanetta (Dekock) Blegen. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School. On September 5, 1965, she was united in marriage to Frank Patterson in Oskaloosa. She was trained as a beautician at Bill Hill’s College of Cosmetology in Fort Madison, IA. Later in life she worked as a pharmacy technician at Walmart in Washington. She was a member of the West Chester Community Church and the Kaaba Shriners Crazy Ladies. Marsha enjoyed taking part in church activities, traveling, reading and spending time with children and grandchildren. Survivors include her three children: Melissa Patterson of West Chester, Mark Patterson (Patches Breed) of Wilton, Michael (Nichole) Patterson of West Chester; three grandchildren: Darian, Chazlee and DeLanee Patterson; two great-grandchildren: Carter and Daelan Patterson; a sister Judy (Allen) Beaman of Arkansas; one brother-in-law Clare (Pat) Patterson of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Marsha in death was her husband Frank, her parents and her in-laws William and Ina Patterson.

Marlaina was preceded in death by her parents and brothers George Sweat, Charles Sweat, John "Jack" Sweat, and Ron Sweat.

He was employed as an Iron Worker for Local 111, Rock Island, retiring in 2003. Blanche was born May 24, 1939 in Davenport, to Jacob and Blanche (Ensley) VanPelt. She married Roland "Ron" Rauch on June 4, 1955. Blanche worked as a home health aide for many years. She is survived by her children, Renee (Bryan) Doyle of Davenport and Brian (Nina) Rauch of Arizona; three grandchildren, Danielle (Jeromy) Duquette, Jacob (Lindsay) Doyle, and Sean Dolan; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and five sisters.
