Helen C. Taylor, 83, of Marion, Arkansas, passed away on September 7, 2023. She was born on January 5, 1940, in Caraway, Arkansas, to parents Quillo Clayton and Johnnie Parker. Helen was a homemaker and loved knitting, being with her grandkids, going to church, spending time with her family, and singing gospel music with company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Taylor; her parents; and one sister, Sherry Lemay. Helen is survived by her son, Bobby Taylor (Bobbie) of Marion, Arkansas; daughter, Sandy Pope (John) of Forrest City, Arkansas; 3 grandchildren, Matt May, Amy Anderson, and April Taylor; 7 great grandchildren, Ansley Anderson, Luke Taylor, Kori May, Taylor Lapradd, Jacob Taylor, Mary Majors-Anderson, and Payton Taylor; 4 sisters, Leigh Phillips of Searcy, Arkansas, Mary Ann Hodges of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Alice Harrison of Trumann, Arkansas, and Debroah Trollett of Little Rock, Arkansas. Services for Helen will be held at Angels Way Baptist Church in Marion, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, starting at 9AM. The funeral will follow visitation at 10AM. Interment will take place at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Arkansas, following the service.

Gloria Cline East January 8, 1935 November 11, 2023 Gloria Dean Cline East, 88, of Marion, Arkansas departed this life on November 11, 2023. Gloria was born on January 8, 1935, in Tyronza, Arkansas, to parents Harry Otis Cline, Sr. , and Tola Faye Cagle Cline. She was a graduate of Marked Tree High School. Gloria went on to marry the love of her life, Harry Delano East, Sr. , and they were married 64 years, until his death in 2017. Her married life started as a military wife at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California. They returned to Crittenden County and Marion, Arkansas, to raise their family of three sons. Gloria was a loving dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Gloria loved gardening and providing fresh vegetables for her family and friends. While in high school, Gloria began playing the piano at her home church, the Marked Tree Church of God. She was very proud of her faith and continued her service as a pianist in the church for many years. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Tola Faye Cline; brother, James Otis Cline; three sisters, Era Mae Perkins, Katherine Cline, Cynthia Kay Tucker; two sons, Harry D. East, Jr. , and Murray David East; and one grandson, Wilkes Danner East. She is survived by her son, Denny East (Baylus), of Marion, Arkansas; one sister, Gail Nichols, of Marked Tree, Arkansas; and one brother, Harry Cline, Jr. , of Cherry Valley, Arkansas. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Emilee East Brigman (Brack), of High Point, North Carolina, and Michael East (Jodi) of Marion, Arkansas; three great grandchildren, Hamer Brigman, Bo Brigman, and Mary Elizabeth East; and a host of nieces and nephews who affectionately called her ''Aunt Dean''. There will be a graveside service Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Tyronza Cemetery, at 2:30 PM. Careita Marie Hightower passed away peacefully at home in Marion, Arkansas on November 10, 2023, after a brief illness. Careita was born in Ravenden, Arkansas on September 25, 1937, to Lois and Leonard Murphy. In 1955 she graduated from Pocahontas High School and pursued a career as a legal secretary for Randolph County. In 1959 she met Loyd D. Hightower, and after a brief courtship they married on January 1, 1960. They moved to eastern Arkansas where they have lived since. They welcomed their only daughter Pam in 1965. Careita became a business owner in 1970 when she opened Careita's Shoes and Fabrics where she would showcase her sewing and crafting abilities. After which she ran West Memphis Plumbing and Heating with Loyd until 2019. She loved her family, many friends, and her church. She was charter member of Cypress Avenue Baptist Church in Marion, Arkansas where she enjoyed serving her famous pecan pie and coconut cake. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, sewing and lunch with her "lunch bunch". Careita was preceded in death by her parents Lois and Leonard Murphy, her brother Bill Reeves, and brother Vernon Murphy. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Loyd Hightower of Marion, Arkansas, daughter Pam Pankey (Barry) of Marion, Arkansas, her brother George Murphy of Cabot, Arkansas, a grandson Zachary Pankey of Springdale, Arkansas, grandson Jacob Pankey (Abby) of Hagerstown, Indiana and so many friends that she loved dearly. Visitation will be November 15, 2023, at 10 A. M. followed by her Celebration of Life at 11 A. M. both being held at Cypress Avenue Baptist Church in Marion, Arkansas. Sherry Blanchard, age 66, of Marion, Arkansas, passed away on October 15, 2023. She was born on November 7, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Betty Weldon and the late John Weldon. Sherry was a beautiful, funny, loving, and passionate woman who had a heart of gold. She had a successful career and retired from AutoZone, where she worked in payroll. Sherry is survived by her beloved husband, Cleveland Blanchard, her loving daughter Christy (Phillip) Rosser, and her devoted son Bradley (Samantha) Blanchard. She was a cherished grandmother to her grandsons Tyler Atkins, Cameron Atkins, and Noah Atkins. Sherry also leaves behind her mother Betty Weldon, her sisters Kay Miller and Janice (Gene) Stoudt, and her nephew Kevin Miller and great-nephew Bronx Miller. She is preceded by her father, John Weldon, and her grandmother Maisy Pipes. In her free time, Sherry enjoyed fishing, shopping, making jewelry, collecting gemstones, and making dolls to name a few of her many talents. She had a creative spirit and found joy in these hobbies. Sherry was a very loving woman and could make beauty out of anything. She had a huge heart and family was what mattered to her the most. The funeral service for Sherry Blanchard will be held at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas on October 23rd at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 21st at 5:30 pm. David A. Judkins, 66, of Marion, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. David was born to Lynwood J. and Nancy L. Judkins. He completed his undergraduate studies at North Carolina Wesleyan College, and obtained his Masters degree from Duke University. He was currently enrolled at Reformed Theological Seminary. David retired with Honors from the United States Air Force after serving 20 years, which included two tours of duty in the Persian Gulf War as well as Desert Storm. He then became IT project manager at International Paper for 20 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of West Memphis. David was an avid Ham radio operator and had numerous contacts world-wide. He was passionate about reading and had a love for Schnauzers. He was preceded in death by his father, Lynwood J. Judkins. David is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the home; mother, Nancy L. Judkins of Simpsonville, South Carolina; brother, Jeff Judkins and his wife Debbie of Greenville, South Carolina; brothers-in-law, Kent Ritchey and his wife Janice of Memphis, Dick Ritchey and his wife Diane of Germantown, and Dan Ritchey and his wife Laurie of Blytheville; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 1:30 p. m. at First United Methodist Church in Blytheville. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p. m. until service time at First United Methodist Church.
