November 6, 2023

A memorial service for Bonnie Ruth McPherson Holley, 82 of Epps, LA will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 5:00 PMat the Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Perry officiating. A time of remembrance and fellowship will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 3:00 PM until service timeat Walnut Grove Baptist Church east of Epps, LA. Bonnie Ruth Holley, better known as Bonnie Pearl to many, took her heavenly flight in the early morning of November 3, 2023. Bonnie was a friend to many and a worker like no other. She enjoyed a long banking career of fifty-six years. Many counted on her to take care of their IRAs especially. She could calculate interest in seconds while most would still be trying to figure it by the computer. When someone was in need, many times Bonnie would help without ever letting them know she was the helper. Some of her happiest times were helping with gospel shows where she would coordinate singers and invite the community to gather and worship together in hopes of bringing the old Cave Theatre back to life. We can't think of Bonnie without remembering her love of Elvis. The story has been told that she chased Elvis a time or two, and possibly had her son, Donnie, two months early because of it! We can only imagine after she fell at the feet of Jesus that she surely ran to find Elvis! He was her favorite singer until 1998 when her beloved, Misty became a part of her family and then Elvis took second place! Bonnie's world was her family, and she couldn't help but take care of all. She was married to the love of her life, Willie, for fifty-two years. She planned her day around who needed a ride, fence built, fire started, or cow chased. Her granddaughters were the highlight of her day. She enjoyed taking them to Dollar General and carrying them wherever they needed to go for fun. Her life was about helping others and making their life easier. Bonnie loved all her nieces and nephews, and some of her last words were how proud she was of Brant and the man he has become. She loved her co-workers and customers and would tell you retirement might be for some, but it was for the birds for her. Most of her life she attended Little Creek Baptist Church, and in later years, she attended Walnut Grove. Now she might be fifteen minutes late, but she always made worship a priority. She had a love for the Lord and had her way of sharing Jesus with those who needed it most. There's no doubt we will all have many funny stories to tell and memories to share for years to come. There will never be another Bonnie Pearl, and what a blessing it was to call her ours! She is preceded by her parents, Charles Clifton McPherson and Audie Holmes McPherson and her two siblings,Jeanette McPherson Ball Batchelor and Charles Clifton McPherson Jr. . Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband Willie Ray Holley of Epps, LA; her son Donnie Holley and wife Misty and two cherished granddaughters Raylee and Allana. She is also survived by a brother Dennis McPherson and wife Pam and very special niece and nephews, Brant & Darian Ball and Adrienne Ball. Show more
