Loretta Moffett Moneyham was born January 2, 1953, in Birmingham, AL, to Coleman Sr. and Elizabeth Maddox. She was educated in the Birmingham City school system. She later went on to further her education at Miles College and Lawson State Community College.She confessed Christ at an early age and united with Hopewell Baptist Church North Birmingham under the leadership of Pastor Lonnie S. Thomas. She later joined Lily Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mark F. Kennedy.She worked in several grocery store chains as an outstanding employee. Her superior work ethic later propelled her to become one of the leading supervisor in her career. In 1968, Loretta married James D. Moffett, and to this union, they were blessed with two daughters, Marion (Pookie) and Tonja (Toni), which gifted so much joy to their lives. Loretta later went on to marry Willie B. Moneyham; he was the love of her life until his untimely death.She focused on the good in everyone. It was never a time that she didn’t find something nice to say, even if it took her a minute to find the words. She was loved by all and given the title of my favorite aunt, sister, and friend. She was simply loved by everybody. She left a legacy of love and integrity of how to treat others.The Lord’s call came on February 12, 2024, God sent his angel to escort his faithful, sweet servant to leave her earthly home in exchange for an eternal life in heaven. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Coleman Sr. and Elizabeth Maddox; and brother, Coleman Maddox, Jr.Everlasting and cherished love is left to her daughters, Marion (Nathaniel) Hope and Toni Matthews; grandkids, Kelcey (Ramone) Frost, Clarence Street (Kelsey), Jayla Dates, Jarrion Street, Austin (Shari) Hope, and Leighton and Nathaniel Hope II; great-grandkids, Kaydence, Carsen, Kayce, Kyrie, Bentley, AJ, Koby, and August; loving siblings, sisters, Evelyn Mincey and a sister’s best friend and prayer partner, Latha Studamire, Sheila Clinton; brother, Edward (Vivid) Maddox; and a host of nieces, nephews, and a supportive church family whom she held close to her heart.

Mattie Will Colbert was born on January 26, 1924, in Opelika, Alabama, to the late Willis and Carrie Lockhart. She departed this life on February 12, 2024, at the blessed age of 100 years old.“Aunt Mattie,” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very earlyage. She was a faithful member of Greater Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Until her health started to decline, she was regular in attendance at Sunday School and worship service. In her early years, she was an active member of the Senior Missionary Society. Aunt Mattie loved the Lord with all her heart. August 24, 1949, was a joyful day for her when she was joined in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late Jesse Colbert. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Philip, Daniel, Signal, Megge, Eddie Lockhart, and Amanda Gardner.Aunt Mattie was an avid traveler and visited so many amazing places. She enjoyed sewing and made nearly everydress she ever wore. She was a nurturer and loved everyone. She was also a wealth of knowledge to anybody that ever had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with her.She leaves to cherish her precious memories: a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
