Born on December 12, 1955, Hector lived a life full of joy, love, and endless enthusiasm. Hector was predeceased by his parents, Hector and Librada (Lily), and his sister, Inelda Hernandez. He leaves behind his siblings, Norma Linda Rodriguez, Melba DeLeon Thompson, and Ronald Ray DeLeon (Amanda). He was an adored uncle to his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. Despite being born with Down syndrome, Hector never allowed it to define him. At age 14, he became a client of CCSSLC, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey of inclusivity and acceptance. This marked the start of Hector having two families - his biological one and his CCSSLC family. Both families, bound by love and admiration, will remember Hector as a beacon of light and positivity. Hector was an active participant in the Special Olympics, where he showcased his athletic abilities and competitive spirit. His love for sports also extended to bowling, a hobby that brought him immense joy and camaraderie. Hector was an enthusiastic participant in parades and various other community events, always bringing a sense of joy and unity to every gathering. In his downtime, Hector loved to spend time at home, especially during weekends, holidays, and special occasions. He was known for his kind and gentle soul, always willing to lend a helping hand. His home was his sanctuary, a place where he could enjoy some of his favorite pastimes. Riding his bike was a favorite activity for Hector, both at home and at CCSSLC. His love for music was infectious, often seen humming along to his favorite tunes. He had a fondness for flipping through books and magazines, always curious and eager to learn new things. Hector was a man of simple pleasures. He had a particular fondness for meals from Whataburger, often seen with a contented smile on his face after enjoying his favorite meal. He also had a sweet tooth, with a particular soft spot for candy and pan dulce. His love for sweets was only a small part of his larger love for life, a testament to his vivacious spirit. Hector DeLeon Jr. 's life was a testament to the power of positivity, acceptance, and love. He was a beacon of hope, demonstrating that one's circumstances do not define one's life or potential. His legacy of joy, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished.
