Survivors include her son, Charles Waters (Kendra); daughters, Debbie Lewis (Robert), Susan Griffin (Daniel); 6 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Hill passed away Monday, February 26, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Kay Mohn Hill and the late Charles W. Hill. He was a motorcycle and truck enthusiast and was a member of the National Bike Rally Circuit. He worked for Lowe’s and Target as a Loss Prevention Manager. He earned the nickname, the Golden Butterfly from his Lowe’s associates for his numerous awards from the store. He loved to tinker with things, trying to fix whatever was broken. Mr. Hill took many trips to the ocean for relaxation. His love for basset hounds was endless and he cared about his family, willing to do whatever to take care of them. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Cheryl Tedford Hill; step-sons, James Tedford (Mikel), Jarrod Tedford and Jacob Tedford; mother; sister, Kendra Hill (Robert Kirby); step-grandchildren, Andrew Tedford and Lillian Tedford; mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Gail Sysak Howard; brother-in-laws, Charles Sysak and James Sysak; nephew, Dylan Brazell; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved basset hounds, Bo and DJ.

Mr. Lattimore retired from the United States Postal Service as the Postmaster of Lexington and recently retired as the President of the Postal Federal Credit Union with 35 years of service. Donald Lee Smith

Master Sergeant Donald Lee Smith, SCARNG, Retired went home to the arms of his heavenly father on Saturday, 17 February, 2024. He was a loving and devoted husband, son, brother, friend, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. As a devout Christian he served as a deacon and choir director at Old Lexington Baptist Church of Leesville, SC where he was a life time member. He served in United States Air Force for three years, the South Carolina National Guard for twenty-nine years retiring as a Master Sergeant and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Don was the son of the late Perry Lee “Bill” Smith and Lucille Smith Shealy. Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Carol J. H. Smith; brothers, Larry Smith (Janet) of Gilbert and Laverne Smith (Lynn) of Beech Island, SC; one step-brother, Paul Shealy of San Antonio, TX; his three daughters, Connie Smith, Angela Smith, and Tara Chavis (Arrion) all of Gilbert, SC; eight grandchildren, Lindsey (Ricky) Brown, Katelin (Thomas) Swartzlander, Nathan (Kristen) Shealy, Erin (Douglas) LaFlam, Sallie Shealy, Cheyenne Chavis, Ethan Keisler and Jacy Chavis; ten great grandchildren, Ryleigh Brown, Brady Laflam, Walker Brown, Peyton Swartzlander, Khloe Shealy, Jenny Laflam, Caroline Brown, Allie Swartzlander, Jace Swartzlander and Raelynn Shealy. Don was predeceased by his brother, Philip Ray Smith; and several loved aunts and uncles. Funeral service will be held 3pm Friday, February 23, 2024 at Old Lexington Baptist Church 800 Old Lexington Road B-L, SC 29070. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He was born on December 3, 1986 in Gaston, SC to Claudia Leviner and Larry Tyrone Barrs, Jr. Ty enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and working on his motorcycles. He is survived by his parents; his children, Hunter, Braylon, Kenzie, and Tyler; sister, Brandi Tidwell. She loved children and nursing, working for many years in childcare, teaching, and in the medical field. Mrs. Proctor worked at several local daycares, Sandhills Elementary, and Wellmore of Lexington as a LPN/Medical Tech. Surviving are her beloved husband and soul mate, Michael Proctor, her heart and soul, her son, Lee Proctor, her father and step-mother, James H. Charles Alfred Fletcher

Charles Alfred Fletcher passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2023. He was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, December 23, 1935 to the late Charles Leonard and Mildred Kiehl Fletcher. Mr. Fletcher was educated in the public schools of Kingsport and later graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree. After College, he served as an officer in the United States Army Chemical Corps. In 1959 he began work as a design engineer with the Tennessee Eastman Company in Kingsport, TN. In 1967 he was transferred to Carolina Eastman Co. where he worked as an engineer, production supervisor and management trainer before retiring in 1990. During his early professional career, he married his childhood sweetheart, Geraldine (Gerry) Carmichael and together they raised three sons: Scott Charles, David Michael, and Matthew Kiehl. He taught them all how to build, camp, fish, fix, hike, hunt, love, pray, and worship Jesus Christ whom he well knew as his personal Savior. As a churchman, he served Christ with many gifts including encouragement, leadership, teaching, and giving in several local parishes around the Midlands including: All Saints Episcopal Church, Cayce; St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Lexington; Church of the Apostles, Anglican Church, Columbia; and finished his earthly ministry at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Irmo, SC. He was a true friend to many. Mr. Fletcher was active in hiking and conservation organizations including the Appalachian Trail Club, Sierra Club, Palmetto Trails Club, Nature Conservancy, North American Fishing Club and the Cousteau Society. He was also active in community organizations including Boy Scouts of America, United Way of the Midlands, Boy’s Clubs of America, West Columbia Kiwanis Club. Surviving are his beloved wife, Gerry; sons, Scott (Dawn) of Greenville, SC, David (Joy) of Cayce, SC, and Matthew (Page) of Cayce, SC; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, who lovingly call him “Poppa Charlie.” Mr. Fletcher was predeceased in glory by his sister, Sarah Jane Morrow. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 1541 Lake Murray Blvd, Columbia, SC 29212.
