"Harold M. Spradley (77), of Sterret, AL and Springville, AL, passed away on September 10, 2023. Harold was born on November 3rd, 1945. He grew up with a love of hunting, fishing, Atlanta Braves, and Alabama football. He was a talented baseball and basketball player graduating from Vincent High School and Alabama College (now University of Montevallo) where he earned Math and Physics degrees before entering the teaching profession. Harold then moved into the Computer and Information Technology industry for 25 years prior to starting his own IT consulting business which he and his wife, Joan, ran for over 20 years. He loved the outdoors, whether it was the woods, the lake, or the ballfield. He loved sharing his passions and always had a story, witty remark, or teaching moment to impart. Harold is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Joan (Leopard) Spradley as well as his son, Kevin (Dreama) Spradley. He is also survived by his two grandsons, Russell and Davis Spradley. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Amos Julius and Ozelene Spradley, and two brothers, Lawrence and Leon Spradley. He also had a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Harold gave everything he had to whatever he was doing. He was a fighter, battling several cancers for many years, but most of all loved being a husband, father, and grandfather and was great examples of all. He spent countless hours on the ballfield or basketball court with Kevin teaching, coaching, and inspiring. His love for Joan was second to none as they served as perfect role model for marriage and life. One of his greatest joys was his role of grandfather where he could spoil his grandsons and share wisdom. He also loved hunting and fishing so much that he would reload shells and make his own fishing lures. Harold had the heart of a teacher, and in addition to hunting, fishing, and sports, he loved teaching all things including car and home repair, professional and personal guidance, anything science or technology related, and Dad jokes. There was never a shortage of love when it came to Harold, Dad, and Pop. Visitation will be hosted by Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home on September 16, 2023 at 11:00 am with a graveside service at 1:00 pm at Argo Christian Fellowship Church. Celebration reception to follow at the church. "
