Plattsburgh Harold J. "Buddy" Myers, 97, of Stetson Ave., passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on July 28, 1921, the son of the late John and Florence (Dubuque) Myers. Buddy served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Azores as a crew chief on B-17's and later was employed at Imperial Wallcoverings for over years until his retirement. He was very active in his community. He was a member of the Cumberland Head Fire Department for many years, he coached both boys and girls baseball and softball teams for Cumberland Head, he was an Advancement Chairman for the Boy Scouts, and delivered meals for the Senior Nutrition Program with his wife Marion for several years and assisted his daughter in law with delivering the meals the past four years. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 125 and American Legion Post 20. He loved fly fishing and hunting. He is survived by 2 sons and daughters in law; John and Carol Myers of Geneva, NY, Michael and Lynn Myers of Plattsburgh, a daughter and son in law ;Nancy and Ken Sprayberry of Ocala, Florida, a step daughter ; Darlene Holzapple of California, a stepson James Trulock of Florida, 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, great great grandchild on the way, and many nieces and nephews and his devoted feline friend Savannah who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his wife Marion Myers in 1998, his most recent wife Patricia Myers in 2015, son James Myers passed away in 2012, and his sisters Stella Paul and Mildred Premore. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Whispering Maples Mausoleum.
