Harold Raymond McCall, known to most as "Mac," age 95, of Blanchester, passed peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2022, after a long life enriched by family, friends, and a wonderful sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Ruth (Hale) McCall; his parents, Forrest and Sylvia (Double) McCall; his step-mother, Mary (Frank) McCall; his brother, Carl McCall; and sisters, Lucille Frost and Ada Jean Minton. He is survived by his children, Patty (Greg) Ballinger, Sharon (Jim) Meyer, Cathy (Gary Moore) Peery, and Michael (Tammy) McCall; his eleven grandsons; twenty great-grandchildren; his sisters, Freda Gooch and Mary Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. Harold was a 1944 graduate of Blanchester High School, a US Army veteran, and a Cincinnati Milacron machine operator. After his retirement, he and Ruth enjoyed camping with the Buckeye Vagabonds, traveling, spending winters in Tavares, Florida, and enjoying their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a bowler, woodworker, tinkerer, corn-hole and shuffleboard champion, fixer of anything that needed fixing, Gunsmoke watcher, comedian, king of the one-liners, and the flat-cap/cardigan combo. He was also a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by many. The funeral service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Tufts Schildmeyer Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St. , Blanchester, Ohio, where friends will be received from 10am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Blanchester IOOF Cemetery.
