"On December 2, 2023, Gina Costello Griffin passed away, she was 58. Gina is survived by her two sons Nicholas (Nico) and Connor, her parents Joseph and Florence Costello, her siblings and their spouses Gerard and Elizabeth Costello, Joseph and Christina Costello and Jaime and William Lash, as well as her nieces and nephews, Katie, James, JP, John John and Mary Costello and Carolyn Clarke . She is also survived by her bonus family member, Maureen Kelly. Gina was predeceased by her husband, SSgt. Carroll Eugene Griffin (Gene). Their fated love brought them together and they are now reunited in heaven. Originally from Merrick, New York, Gina studied art at Parsons and NY Tech. She moved to Hawaii where she met and fell in love with Gene. The Army life took them to Ft. Bragg, NC then ultimately Long Island, where they built their life together closer to family. Gina was bold, generous and had an abundant spirit. People were naturally drawn to Gina everywhere she went. She also welcomed anyone into her home and always made sure they felt safe and were well fed. Gina was a patriot and loved America with the same passion and fire she brought to the people in her life. She joined rally's in DC with Gene and her boys and actively campaigned for the Republican Party when she moved to Florida. She was also vocal on social media about issues that she felt were unjust. Like Gina herself, her posts always stood out because she only wrote in ALL CAPS. When someone tried to explain to her the meaning of all caps on a post (it means, you're shouting), she simply replied with "Well that's the way I want to say it. " Brilliant with arts and crafts, she was drawn to work that tapped into her amazing talents. As a wedding planner she would help couples create a dream experience with all the little touches that elevated the celebration. She'd craft centerpieces, design invitations and truly original favors. Give her a glue gun or paint brushes and she could make something beautiful and unique. Just like she was. Service information will be shared once finalized. "Show more
